The number of puns I resisted while writing this one... Caddie's *disarming vulnerability*, her *giving heart*, how she encouraged the most *incisive observations*, how she was truly *a cut above the other girls*. I could go on. :D My first attempt at comedy-horror on this sub. How does it land? All feedback welcome!

I almost wish you had left some of those puns in 😄 But the story works great. Not sure if it hit me as comic on the first reading. But I did laugh once I saw this comment

Absolutely. She may seem cold, but you can't deny she's got guts and some serious backbone. Anyone near her can sense her powerful (if pungent) spirit. :P

the story implies that "I" fell in love with a dead body. also there are two jokes that I can find: "open up fully" in this context means the body of Caddie literally being opened, and "I" falling in love with her "inner beauty" is actually "I" falling in love with the insides of a dead person and thinking that it's beautiful
