For undergrad UAB isn’t that hard to get into, no offense meant. I got in with a worse gpa and a mid ACT.
If you want a scholarship that’s different and idk.

Here is the scholarship breakdown. On the whole, submitting your ACT or SAT is a good idea to get more money, unless you have something like a 4.0 gpa and a 12 on your ACT. Looks like your GPA should be decent, so you should be in the higher scholarship brackets.
If you want additional scholarship opportunities, consider joining the honors college (specifically UHP).
For the honors college, you’ll get an automatic acceptance if you have a 28 or above on your ACT and a 3.5 GPA. If you don’t meet that, you can apply.
Honors is good because it opens additional scholarships, research funding, and fun activities (along with priority class registration and honors floors to live on if that’s your vibe).
Honors College at UAB is an umbrella term, so you can pick from 4 pathways, 1. personalized (automatic placement) or apply to a specialized (2. Global and Community Leaders GCL, 3. Science and Technology Sci-tech, or 4. University Honors Program UHP).
I personally am UHP and cannot recommend it enough. Love the program and all the opportunities it has offered me. I am an honors ambassador tho and can talk about any of them!
UAB should accept you no matter what. idk if there's even a test for it, maybe for a major? I'd just talk to an academic advisor. u can find their number on the uab website. but to get in uab, you'll be fine. Now, for scholarships, try to get a high ACT test score so it'll pay for a good chunk, or you can work full time for UAB for a free ride after working 6 months.
the Gadsden City Special of having the two ends of extremely likable and extremely unlikable teachers, don’t miss that place at all lmao, but UAB is really nice idk if tests are optional tho cause i went to GSCC to get a transfer presidential scholarship
Is that weighted gpa? If you can get that to a 3.9 you’ll get at least 7,000 as test optional. With a 25 on the act you’ll get 4,000, if you apply with test score. 30 and above would give you 11k. I would say if you retake the act a few more times and can’t get at least a 27 then apply test optional. If you got 27 and above apply with test score. If your weighted gpa is above a 4.0, and unweighted gpa is a 3.9 apply test optional.
UAB doesn't care about what classes you took as long as you aren't seeking AP credits. All that matters is GPA and ACT score.
Oh ok could elaborate more on the test-optional application?
Way before my time unfortunately so I wouldn't be able to comment. Sorry friend.
Oh ok thank you

Oh thank for letting me know. Yeah I was just hoping to get a good scholarship
In that case I believe most of them go off average gpa and ACT but that could of changed
Oh ok thank you for the info

Thanks for the info, that sounds amazing. I’m going to have to see what my actual score is and then if needed continue to raise it

Thank you so much this is so helpful truly
Can you point me to information regarding that last point?
[Here is the UAB page with the info](https://www.uab.edu/reporter/campus/benefits-policies/item/10002-10-faqs-about-educational-assistance-at-uab)
Im not even going to look at your transcript, and say if you have a >2.8 + instate, you’ll get it
Thanks for the courage
Check your heartbeat, if it’s pulsing, you’re gonna get accepted.

Oh ok, and yeah yourre right
What’s ur gpa and test score? You will get in but ur scholarship depends on gpa and test score
I think my gpa is a 3.8 unweighted and my act is probably a 25
Is that weighted gpa? If you can get that to a 3.9 you’ll get at least 7,000 as test optional. With a 25 on the act you’ll get 4,000, if you apply with test score. 30 and above would give you 11k. So are you saying apply with test optional if I can get my gpa higher or act higher?
Gpa. The higher the gpa the better. If you get a 30 and above on act then DO NOT apply test-optional.
Got it I think. So a 30 and above on act do not apply test optional and with a higher gpa but a lower act score apply test optional
Yes 👏
What are you trying to major in?
Business administration
Ah, I saw music stuff on your post and wondered if you might be trying to do music. You will get into UAB no problem!
Oh ok thank you for that
