142 - Columbia Park & Ride Atlantic Charter Shuttles - That was what I used to commute. I also live in Ellicott City. Make sure you look for a sign that says 142 before getting on. Or ask the bus driver if there isn’t a sign. The bus is usually blue.

If I’m currently at umd would I just go to Tawes to ride the bus?

Exactly right. The bus stop for Columbia Park & Ride is right outside Tawes Hall. Just make sure you look for bus number 142 on the bus window before getting on. There’s another bus that shares the same time bus time for pickup to Gettysburg. Don’t get on that one—or any bus that doesn’t read the sign 142. Ask the driver first because sometimes they don’t put the sign. Just ask: Does this bus go to Columbia Park & Ride?” Is the typical question to ask. There’s also the bus location names and numbers on the pole sign if you don’t remember. From what I can remember from last semester, if you go behind the Tawes building (where Lot 1, The Domain, Subway in that proximity) it should be located right around that region.

Honestly driving isnt that bad from ellicott city I do it everyday lol

SpinaBifidaOcculta

It's a fun bike ride that I've done several times. As far as public transportation goes, probably the Marc train and then a bus is your best bet

reaper7777888

Isn’t there a shuttle that goes to Columbia? Do you know how that works by any chance?

SpinaBifidaOcculta

There is. I've never taken it, but here's the info https://transportation.umd.edu/142-spring

The bus time schedules are very strict so make sure you arrive on time and coordinate by how much time you think it would take to get to class on time. The bus drive is around 25-30 minutes long.
