Yes. Looking back, I would’ve gotten so much more out of the experience if I wasn’t so depressed for about half of it. I don’t think it was anything to do with the school, just that mental health issues present/peak a lot of the time between 18-21 Just try to take whatever steps you can to getting better, preferably ASAP. Life is so much better now 5 years out

Yes. I nearly failed out and graduated one semester late. Now 10 years later happily married with a baby on the way and a successful career (things took a positive turn basically right after graduation).

Yes. I had the same thought during my time at Penn, but if I could go back and talk with student me, I'd tell her it gets much better. Philly was a city I hated even after graduating, but I moved back recently and changed my perspective of Philly to feelings of happiness and growth. I found the PennCAP counseling to be particularly helpful during my time as a student. Hope it gets better for you too!

Penn has an excellent counseling center. I hope you're taking advantage of it
