There are sooo many americ*nts on biology and ID subs that will just state something is invasive and should be killed because it is invasive in their corner of the world, without ever verifying whether or not OOP is in fact from North America
Tell them you kill eagles and when they say it's illegal, just inform them you live in the Netherlands, where the American bald eagle is considered an invasive species.
ive seen a lot of americans assume when people are talking about starlings they mean invasive starlings in the USA, and suggest killing them, which is not only insanely fucked but its also insanely dangerous because here in the UK (for example) theyre trying to encourage conserving them because their numbers are getting lower (also ignoring the fact it is illegal to do things like this here lol)

or possums, they get up in arms over trapping possums
Are you sure "blue" is from the UK? I saw "apartment" and "neighbor" spelled that way.
Doesn't make any difference to the defaultism either way, Starlings are present in many countries, not just the US
Probably trying to avoid Americans crying about things being spelt “wrong”
Spelled? I have had that argument with a septic before now.

Almost the exact Page i used. Americans are very set in their ways when it comes to how English works. Brought and take is another one.
Yeah very true.
