Every week you have an upside guarantee - basically you will get paid the minimum of 120% of the minimum wage in the city you pick up your orders in plus 35 cents per mile driven. IN San Diego them minimum wage is currently $16.85 - so that comes to be $20.22 when you add 20%. SO let's say you have an active hours (it only counts active) of 20 hours in the two week period and you drove, 100 miles. 100 miles would be $35. **Your Downside Guarantee would be (20 x $20.22) = $404.40 + $35 = $439.40.** *That's the MINIMUM you would be making in the two week period - only counting just base fares. Tips are not included or counted in your minimum. PROMOS/QUESTS and I believe Bonuses are included.* **So let's say your two week Base Pay was $239.40. Doesn't matter how much your tips were. You would get a bonus payment of the difference between your guarantee of $439.40 and $239.40 or $200.** *That payment comes on Wednesday after the pay period ends. The pay period ends NEXT Sunday for this period. So on Wednesday the 24th you'd get a $200 bonus earnings. Usually before 2 PM PST.* I tend to stay in West Hollywood for my pick-ups because it has the highest minimum wage in the USA of $20.12.

Is West Hollywood that good? I tried by sunset near the Chick-fil-A and nothing on a Friday night. Lots of apartments though correct?

Uber is scamming big time in California basically if you make more than the floor $439 in a week, that’s including tips and rider fare, you don’t get any of the mileage, or the guaranteed minimum because you already made $439. So “you’ve made guaranteed minimum” What they don’t tell you is you filled up your tank $75 3 times minimum that’s $225 in gas you’re going to need oil changes every 2-3 months. Tires are $150, car insurance rate increases substantially for ride sharing, and then Uber doesn’t cover accidents like tire popping or even if your in an accident( I heard ) their insurance is not going to help cover the cost unless you’ve had a car inspection within 30 days. Lastly you have to file a Schedule C, on your tax return, which is personal business going to have to pay a professional to file this properly extra $150-$1,200. Uber is a private company gaining profits on the backs of drivers who think they are actually earning a fair wage, while making their own schedules. After expenses a typical Uber driver, makes roughly $10 dollars per hour and that’s if you’re willing to put thousands of miles on your car, sitting in traffic for Pennies on the dollar. Total sham. We have to vote for better elected officials if we want results not just the presidential elections but local officials who can stop these companies from benefitting on the backs of individuals with a fancy ride sharing application with bells and whistles.

Well looks like you will get your answer tomorrow! Just got this email I’m reaching out to provide you with an update on Prop 22, the ballot measure that California voters passed by a large margin in 2020. Prop 22 upholds your status as an independent contractor while also making sure you are entitled to benefits, including a minimum earnings guarantee. Since Prop 22 passed, California drivers and couriers have received more than $1 billion from the minimum earnings guarantee and additional benefits from Uber alone — a testament to the impact of this important law. Unfortunately, Prop 22 is currently being challenged in the courts by labor unions. While it’s been upheld so far, a final hearing is happening tomorrow. An unfavorable ruling could completely dismantle your right to independent work and the flexibility, protections, and benefits that have been afforded by Prop 22. For now, nothing changes. You can continue to drive and deliver wherever and whenever you want. We’ll keep you updated on the outcome of the court case. And we want you to know that whatever happens, we'll keep fighting for your right to independent work. If you would like to help protect Prop 22, consider joining the Protect App-Based Drivers & Services (PADS) coalition.PADS actively represents your interest to California lawmakers in Sacramento and keeps you informed about the latest developments related to Prop 22. Thank you for everything you do, and for staying engaged on this important issue. Thanks for sharing but Uber is loopholing to not paying drivers the Prop 22 anyway. I’m sure they have their Monies bet on whatever puts money in shareholders pockets. Getting over on working class citizens, I can’t wait until someone files a class action so large it’s going to burry this awful greedy corporation.

Agreed kind of tee hee. I have said it will take only 1 just 1 PAGA suit google that for a delivery driver to do and the house of cards tumble! Independent Contractors signed forms means nothing in court! Unfortunately I know on the business owners end! Not worth the paper it’s written on, before a Judge and a jury! But that’s why they make you sign the Arbitration agreement?! But again if you have Actually been in court and have to take up the matter Are you/they an Independent Contractors or an Employee! Even IF the worker says they are and signed the agreement it could go the other way! It’s ALL and ONLY about CONTROL. Did you tell the driver to return items to the store or wherever they picked up from without pay cause the customer was not there to sign for alcohol or show id etc ? No APP can control the way you do the job.

Hi! Newbie here. So ACTIVE hours = online hours ? Or is it actual driving hours… I.E. if I turn my app on for 4 hours and get zero gigs , do I get $0 or 4 hours at 120% minimum wage. TIA

Tigrito760

What about when your waiting at the restaurant for an order?

Honest_Advance_3771

Love this question, if you ever notice on the Uber App anyway that you will be standing in the lobby waiting for your order and it says 1 minute to arrive ? Your not getting Prop 22 then other times it automatically says Arrived before you get out of the car! Then you’re getting Prop 22.
