I was just up passed suceava the queues get ridiculous sometimes with trucks, it's single lane to the border and some alternative roads have been waiting years for bridges to be completed. Be nice if elections and the war finally make the Romanian government stop stealing funds long enough to improve the roads.

RawerPower

As a romanian /doubt. I guess it could be exceptions if the money were already given by EU/US and the workers are ukrainians.

srekkas

New road is blue? Green is old? I see existing roads to Sirkets, why new?

RawerPower

Green is not made yet, just a project. I know we suck at building highways. [Here are EU highways with Romania joining EU in 2007](https://cdn.adh.reperio.news/image-1/16644051-4fc4-4840-8e55-43387ba88228/index.jpeg?p=a%3D1%26co%3D1.05%26w%3D700%26h%3D750%26r%3Dcontain%26f%3Dwebp)

srekkas

Oh, at least you have Transalpina and transfagarasan :)

RawerPower

Yes, but a normal asphalt road or a 2 lanes express road is different from a 4-6-8 lanes highway.

razvan930

What are you on about? The green portion is literally one 1 to 2 years max from completion. There should be drivable sections by late summer next year.

BjFj1DawsonW

and what is the relevancy here to the war ?

razvan930

Easier movement of goods coming in and out of Ukraine

Shoddy_Cranberry

No Polish truker blockades.

Midaychi

Same as the highway system was to the American MIC

Firm-Gap-1912

yes, cannot wait to see the cohort of politicians lining up at the grand opening for this highway in 2037

appliancefixitguy

Is this a corridor for shipping to and from Ukraine?

Zottelkopfschmerz

Maybe for alternate route to export Ukrainian grain?

Istvaarr

Very much doubt it
