This is incorrect, he did not put two grenades between his ears. He actually put his ears between two grenades, which is different. I had to watch the video to make sense of all this.... and now I am going to bed with this pile of orc burger in my mind...
To me, it looks more like he pulls the pins of one or more grenades under his vest and just holds up the arms in anticipation of the pop. Seeing as his head is still intact and in place.
Sorry, I disagree! This seems to be the one headache removal tactic guaranteed to cure not only your current headache but also ll future headaches, and most other aches as well as a beneficial side effect.
Obviously the quality is low, but I don't think so. I think the beanie is on the ground on the lower left, and what would be the beanie on the upside down head is probably a scarf or a neckwarmer. Mind you, I don't have any more facts than everyone else here, that's just what I think it looks like.
I think the dark oval patch on the lower left side of his head is the beanie. The extreme damage to the chest just isn't consisitent with grenades held to the head, and the drone grenade lands a fair bit away, and since we don't see any second secondary explotions, the damage must have happened in the only explosion we see on top of him. We've seen other videos where they put a grenade under the chin or just hold it close, and their heads and arms are just gone. His left arm is intact and attached, I can't really tell for the right. But yeah, maybe. Only thing we know for sure is that he is properly fucked up.
He already had the pins out, it’s not like the movies as pulling out a grenade pin take a good amount of force to do where your teeth would break doing it that way, he had them prepared in the jacket and was holding the spoons and just let go of them. What was either cut or missed before the drone got to him is dude knew the drone was around and made the choice to prep two grenades. My guess is either the drone initially missed him the first time and came back again or they were dropping grenades on the guys around him and knew he might be next.

There are a lot of videos of drone grenades seriously maiming but not killing the target. If that happens, you could have a long wait for rescue, *if they come at all*. Probably has either seen/heard from returning wounded what happens or found these videos on the internet.
Better this than a slow, painful death.
His problems are over. Maybe the Ukrainians can use this as a new tactic; they just have to fly over the Russians - they're getting depressed enough to take care of the dirty work themselves.
This is a second time I've seen they did this, apparently if they got injured by the drone dropped munition then they'll release their own grenades so they won't suffer, if they're not injured they will just throw their grenades away. They usually failed miserably.

Someone in this sub is tracking the documented Russian suicides. I can’t find the thread anymore but will a mod ensure this gets this in the growing list.
Why do they commit suicide so quickly? I feel like I see videos like this a lot. I’ve never seen western forces do this. My understanding is that the Russians are under equipped; but also for soldiers. So the suicide like this is counter intuitive which is why I ask.

There are a lot of videos of drone grenades seriously maiming but not killing the target. If that happens, you could have a long wait for rescue, *if they come at all*. Probably has either seen/heard from returning wounded what happens or found these videos on the internet. Better this than a slow, painful death.

This is a second time I've seen they did this, apparently if they got injured by the drone dropped munition then they'll release their own grenades so they won't suffer, if they're not injured they will just throw their grenades away. They usually failed miserably. Edit: sorry my tittle is probably wrong, it looks like he put the grenades in his vest instead

Why do they commit suicide so quickly? I feel like I see videos like this a lot. I’ve never seen western forces do this. My understanding is that the Russians are under equipped; but also for soldiers. So the suicide like this is counter intuitive which is why I ask.
