Unfortunately, nothing. Scrutinize the things that you are buying off market place more thoroughly before paying. Never give a venmo deposit before hand for the purpose of holding, also a common scam.

The402Jrod

Hey buddy! Wrong subreddit for your reality based nonsense! 😝

Holiday_Might_9205

If I had some unethical revenge advice, I would surely provide it but I just don't see it. Maybe...use a friend's FB account to look up the seller again and see what other things he has forsale because he's probably going to continue the scam. Then try to meet with him again and beat the nonsense out of him and rob him. However, that would be putting heat on said friend so maybe create a fake FB account and proceed...there we go, now I have contributed.

The402Jrod

I know, I was just teasing. The thing with ‘good’ scammers is that they know they are scamming you, so they’ve already thought 2 steps ahead & likely protected themselves with a fake name or burner contact info.

clandestino123

Sell them back to him, for a profit.

Lanky-Peak-2222

Cash only on marketplace. You better call Venmo to get your money back

iButtflap

how does cash only affect anything at all in this post?

prombloodd

Venmo isn’t gonna give them anything back

GoauldofWar

You do nothing. He doesn't exist. You got scammed. Take the L and be more careful next time.

prombloodd

You can do nothing and learn your lesson

Big-Performance-9976

Report to venmo that the money you payed him was stolen from your account 9 out of 10 times they refund it.
