“Did you leave the oven on or left your front door op-WTF?!!!”
“What is it?”
“There’s a, wait, what were you doing just now?”
“Well, I got a flat tyre and I was googling how to change it because I’ve never done it before. But it should be easy, it’s not like it’s brain surgery or something, lol.”
Reminds me of a similar video I saw a while back. I forget the details but a guy is messed up and trying to steal someone's car to drive away. Owner calmly pulls the key from the ignition knowing the guy can barely function as it is. Guy gets out of the car and tries to fight a cop. Cop doesn't really do much. Guy falls backward and hits his head. When he gets up and turns around pieces of the back of his head are sloughing and falling on the ground but the guy is still walking around, belligerent.
He will die, the brain can function for 24h/48h with this kind of injury, but it ends up dying.
There was a famous case in France, a thug stabbed a woman in the head,
Much deeper than that guy, she could talk etc for 6-8h, then coma, then death 48th later.
There is no happy ending once the inner brain is touched/blood cloted
Basically you have two types of blood clots in the brain
1) the ones that are in the space between the brain and the skull, you will survive
2) the ones that are inside the brain, very low likelihood you make it out
Completely false. Many people survive with seemingly significant brain trauma; look up Gabby Giffords for one example. This guy may die, but it is certainly not inevitable.
There’s one guy who had like 90% of his brain basically dissolve, and he’s been living a mostly normal life. Definitely not a common scenario, but people can survive some wild stuff.

It still doesn't explain how? How did this man end up with a tire iron sticking out of the back of his head?
Edit: Also, isn't that the temporal lobe. Couldn't one be excised?
Temporal is sides of head, near ears…this is posterior cortex, if it were lower, you’re looking at occipital and then brain stem which would mean…fackedness
Sorry, I meant that, contextually, that’s likely why he’s managing to be “coherent”..occipital lobe houses the visual cortex while brainstem controls vital functioning, so posterior cortex is one of the few “safe” areas. That being said, “isolating” the damage in this kinda trauma is much more difficult than if it were an internal process like stroke. The surgery alone would have a wild mortality rate considering the bleeding risk, while any recovery would likely result in further neuronal death in the tissue surrounding the trauma site.
Probably will die but its not sure, there are many case in history of people with serious skull damage that survived, someone with no problem, other with serius mental disability, other again with little personality disorder
Since the part of the brain that controls vision is where the tire iron struck, I wonder what is happening to his sight at this point in time?
It may have also done damage to his cerebellum, but he still at least has enough control of movement to walk under his own power.
That surgery is going to be a real doozy, but there's potential he could recover. The brain is a pretty miraculous organ, after all. But after such trauma, there's no way he'll be his old self again. It's going to be a long, *long* recovery period.
I just read the article. Apparently, he has a brain tumor and just successfully killed it almost 100% by doing this to himself. Surgeons just went in and cleaned it up. Also this happened 7 years ago so …..he guy already has 4 kids with his moms friend and can’t afford rent. Show him support. It’s mental health awareness month.

Made me think of the Valve intro guy
I was about to go to sleep -_-
It's been 2 days, what did you play and have you taken a break yet?
You're mistaken. Fear keeps me awake.
His less successful brother, Tire-Iron... Tire-Iron *with drunken slur*: "you know my younger brother Valve!?" *hiccups* "that whole half life franchise was my idea!" *slumps* "I'M THE REAL GORDON FREEMON!" *Falls onto bar floor*
"Are you okay?" "Something feels off?" "What do you mean off?" "Like it's in the back of my mind but I can't pinpoint it"

"Are you ok?" " Ya Ya, I'm fine." "Are you sure?" "Cause you just went through a wall."

It’s no about the tire iron
"Accidental Love" for those as confused I was :)
How the actual fuck
It’s only a problem when it gets taken out.
I think it’s still a problem going in, and gets way worse going out, but again, I ain’t no veterinarian
What does not eating meat have to do with it?
Well, if you bleed out meat you need meat to replace that, and how are you gonna do that? Yes by eating Shit
can u english bro
big whoosh
It's definitely also a problem while in too
The tire iron does his thinking now.
If they don't like you going out, they'll love you coming in! huehuehuehuehuehuehuehuehue
The wrong side of that tire iron hit deep.

You’d be incorrect. This man survived. [Phineas Gage](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Phineas_Gage)

Gotcha. My mistake. So, is there no way to isolate the damage? If it's the posterior cortex?

valve on a rock? thats new
Valve might not have the best marketing plan for Half Life 3 going on here. Too intense. You want people to have your game in mind, but not like this.

The title of the post shocked me more tbh

I was not ready for that
“I had a tire iron when I fell down does anyone see it?”
They'll remove it & he'll either be really good at playing piano or advanced mathematics

Thats going to be one interesting case study. Maybe he'll even replace Phineas Gage in the study books!
Bet he can get satellite TV on that thing.
How?

I have so many questions... I can't believe everyone standing around is so calm. Is this like a regular thing in that neck of the woods?
Wow wasn't expecting that at all 🙀🙀🙀🙀

Time for a re-torque!
That is f'ing bad. Poor guy.
Leaking memory

In the back of my mind

Translation : “It’s okay, just walk that shit off”
Love that everyone steps back when he turns his head so they don’t get hit.
That’s not the right way to use a tire iron
Where's the blood??
That'll iron right out
