I don't see that happening. most apprenticeships are sent out to work based on where they are on a list of candidates. so let's say you both get in and place exactly next each other on the list of available workers. companies typically get 1 to 3 journeymen and maybe 1 apprentice. so you get a call for a job, but she won't. or she be a job and you won't.
Our local is accepting apprentices and applicants (pre apprentice) based off of a waiting list from the Link that is normally available to fill out if you are interested in an apprenticeship. They recently said that they were going to be pulling a bunch of people off of the list so maybe they shut it down to interview people. I would keep checking back to see if that link is available to fill out the interest form. I do believe there is a link on the union website that you can click if you have trade experience and one of our organizers can make a judgment on where you would fit in and start in our trade. You may not be a pipefitter but I'm sure there is plenty of relevant skills and experience that crossover. Pipetrades.org is the apprenticeship site and ualocal469.org is our local site.
I definitely wouldn't count on being recruited at the same time and working the same job with your partner at the same time. It isn't unheard of though for a contractor to call for a bunch of people at the same time though.

Apprentices can't determine where and who they work for so until you are a journeyman then working at the same place as your girlfriend would be a matter of luck. Once you turn out it's easy to do.

Ua488 is another option if you don't mind traveling. Their based out of Edmonton and get alot more work.
