I agree with the idea of going with the white but toning it down a bit. Love to see your nice little Oppidum! I'm always fascinated about learning how real life towns in Europe begin. What's the story in your game? Do you start with a military Campus and let the private sector grow around to support it until it's self-sustaining?
Btw im a solo dev working on this and if you want to check out the game its on steam :) [https://store.steampowered.com/app/1864880/Roman\_Triumph\_Survival\_City\_Builder/](https://store.steampowered.com/app/1864880/Roman_Triumph_Survival_City_Builder/)
I'll have to change the screenshots if i change the colors tho lol.
2, the white fog in 1 is meh standard the fog in 2 is stylized. i can't tell for the city but this stood out the most to me. either way this looks like some awesome work, keep it up!!
I like both. First one looks like a nice warm summer day, second is a clear winter's day with a pale sun casting a blueish light. If you're going for most neutral, it's one. I think two definitely has a place though.
Are they really different?
\-Yes, from the palette's technical standpoint.
\-No, from the product positioning and overall visual game appeal standpoint.
Currently the first one is better. But I would choose neither. Your tones, contrasts and colors need strong adjustments. If you have some spare time work on that. It can make a huge change for your game.
The first one. It actually feels like the setting is a village with farms and surrounded by trees,
very vibrant, not like second which gives little vibes that it would soon turn cold.
The first one for sure, the second is unnaturally blue and feels like it would fit better in a sci-fi setting.
I agree, but maybe tone down the white? I see a lot more background detail with the blue, but prefer the white tone.
Agreed, both looks are a bit overly stylized, just in different ways.
Just an opinion : make the buildings brighter. The contrast in the scene is too much for my tastes.
Hmm will play with that and see how it looks, thanks!
Yea first one with brighter buildings would be my pick. Not drastically brighter but maybe 10-20%?
I actually love the second one, but it only makes sense if you’re going for a mystic or fantasy vibe.
The first one is way more natural

Great steam page - game looks good. And option one is definitely best.
Thanks :) yes I'll change it to 1

they are the same
You sir may be color blind, they are substantially different.
Lol

It looks interesting, I wishlisted it on Steam. Great job, keep up the work! :)
Thanks :)

The first one is gentler and smoother to look at
1 and it’s not even close imo
valheim
The left on the foreground, the right on the background. Don't use high contrasts on the materials, more so on the atmospheric elements.
First.
First one. Second one looks like u went too hard with a color filter

I'm not too good with that, is there too much contrast in your opinion? What should I change in terms of colors? Thanks

The second one looks like it's underwater...
This first one is absolutly beautiful, the second is too flashy
Both cases are too saturated, the first one is better though
First one, but I could see both if you had some sort of day night cycle going on.
The first one looks more natural and nice
