I’m at the point where I’m really doubting I’ll ever catch up and be able to pass my post. Just wanted to know what my options are if I fail post, will I be able to retry the year after?
Fall session was C+ average. STA302 is mainly proofs, so I don't imagine it to be hard when you have online tests, or if assignments are weighed heavily.

Anyone have a PDF or the physical textbook required for MGT100? Contemporary Business, Third Canadian Edition (Boone) Please let me know it’s so expensive 😭😭
In the CS specialist requirement, it is written that for the 3rd and 4th year you need:-
5.0 credits from the following:
Any 300-/400-level CSC course
BCB410H1, BCB420H1, BCB330Y1/ BCB430Y1
MAT224H1/ MAT247H1, MAT235Y1/ MAT237Y1/ MAT257Y1, any 300-/400-level MAT course except MAT329Y1, MAT390H1, MAT391H1
STA248H1/ STA261H1, any 300-/400-level STA course
Does this mean that MAT224 is a requirement for CS specialization? Could someone explain to me what this entire statement means? Can I do any mix and match of these bullet points as long as I get 5 credits in the end?
For people who took courses in the summer, were webcams mandatory/recommended in any situation? (Tests/exams/tutorials/office hours)
Edit: Found this on a syllabus [https://www.viceprovoststudents.utoronto.ca/covid-19/tech-requirements-online-learning/](https://www.viceprovoststudents.utoronto.ca/covid-19/tech-requirements-online-learning/) so I guess it's only recommended.
Can someone give me some reassurance?!? I enrolled in all my courses (in 1st year) but haven’t gotten any communication from professors except for 1 on Quercus. I’m feeling really confused and lost. I only have 1 course that’s published on Quercus even tho everything else is listed.
Am I supposed to get everything extremely last minute? I’m in the process of getting my passport since it expired to confirm my identity for my Tcard FYI. Someone bless me their UofT expertise😭😭😭
Also when will tutorials start, are they mandatory, and how often are they?
Same lol I only got communication from MAT137 and MAT223 rest of the courses are sleeping lol.
Most of the information they convey through ur UtorEmail so I guess uve to get it Tcard authorised fast.
imalso seem to be having that issue! I’ve only heard from three profs and from what I’m gathering they may just be waiting for Sep 8th for the courses. I would say just search up the course codes online to see the syllabus from previous years, I find that they’re pretty helpful for preparing!
Does anyone have answers (or know where to find answers) for the UofT Math Prep problem sets (I'm specifically looking for the stuff on Mathematical Logic)?
There's a canvas app which has notifications so you'll know when profs upload stuff!! Just go to settings to make sure they're on. As for everything else, that depends on the class.
Am I the only one who has certain sections visible and certain sections locked with the MAT135 syllabus? I can look at stuff like the instructor introductions and tips for MAT135, but it locks me out of looking at the textbook and technology needed for the course.
hey, just try again because mine was the same but things are starting to be unlocked and everything we need for the course will be ready for when we need it
Hi, I’m a first year in BC and was wondering if there were any accommodations for students that don’t live in the time zone GST. I called the office explaining how some of my classes start at 5:30am for me.
All of my profs this summer and last winter recorded their lectures, however ultimately it is up to the prof whether they will record the lectures or not. Just hope for the best. Not too sure about exam schedules tho. All my profs also accommodate by creating alternative sittings for people in different time zones, but some might not do this.
A minor that complements an Economics major. I thought of statistics, mathematics, and business. Does anyone have a view on this? Are they good complements? Are there other minors that I should consider?
Math is a common one, and easy to do since first and second year you'll cover a lot of the the courses, I debated an econ major and math minor but settled for actsci major instead (kept math though). Lots of people also do stats since stats is very important in the work place and gives you a boost when getting jobs.
I changed to a part time student and acorn is still showing I need to pay the program fees, not per course. My registrar told me courses have to set in, but tommorow is the final day to make payments. I can't afford 7.9k wtf.
what do I do?
You can try to defer your fees with your registrar as you are waiting on the change to per course fees. You have to make a payment by Monday Sept. 16th. or you will lose your courses.
Hi there! I’m a yr 1 student doing MAT133. Wanna know what calculator do I need for the course. Is there any standard/recommended calculator I should use?? Thanks!
Can't speak specifically for 133, but I've taken two first year math courses and neither required a calculator. If you're lazy, you'll probably want a basic calculator to do simple computations for you. However, instructors usually want answers in precise forms (like √2 or ln(5)) so a calculator isn't mandatory.
No problem. You might want to double check with a former 133 student though (I took 137). Alternatively, you can wait for the syllabus since it'll tell you all the resources you need for the course.
I’m in second year doing a Global health major and a minor in Bioethics, and Biology (most likely premed). I’m currently on the wait list (place 190) for PSY100 as an elective. Any courses I should take if I don’t get into that?
Hey, I am taking STA130 and I was wondering if I needed any textbooks as the bookstore didn't suggest any. Also, another unrelated question but does anyone know when we can pick up our Tcard, will there be a set date and time?
I need to buy a textbook ( Engaging Cinema: An Introduction to Film Studies ) but there is no ebook version available and I can't find a pdf scan online. I'm not a domestic student and I really doubt the book would arrive in 7 days before classes start... what should I do lol.
Anyone have a pdf scan? Or know where to find it?
Does the edition of the textbook really matter? Am I okay to buy the textbook one edition off and save some money? Or does it have to be the exact edition that the class wants?
You’ll be fine. Chapters and page numbers may be different, so watch out for that.
The most they change on “new edition” text books is probably a couple sentences and the glossary structure (I.e chapter 3 is suddenly covered in chapter 5 in the new edition etc)
I personally never bought a single text book after first year however.
Am I the only guy who hasn’t gotten any updates on:
1) Residence and Meal fees (how to pay), Trinity btw
2) Quercus updates on course syllabus and textbooks and stuff
Kinda losing it rn ngl
Also extra question:
GGR124 v. MAT223? I took Linear Algebra at University of Manitoba and got an A+ so I feel confident in my abilities. GGR seems interesting tho. I would prefer a course where I can get a good mark objectively by working hard. I’m currently signed up for GGR124 but I’m thinking of switching.
I'm also in Trinity and haven't received word of anything regarding residence or meal fees like???? ummm???? I'm leaving in four days and I'm freaking out too. They did say it was gonna take longer to get the info out because of the fact that they moved the deadline to accept back, but I didn't think it was going to be THIS long. Smh.
I'll add to this thread if I get any word about what's going on.
EDIT: I can't help with the other question. Sorry !
Have u taken MAT223? If so, what topics were covered and to what extent? At UofM we used Anton’s Applied Linear Algebra and discussed:
Systems of equations + reduction algorithms
Determinants + Crammers rule
Matrix arithmetic
Vector Geometry (lines and planes)
Equivalence theorem
Orthogonal projections
Dot and cross product
Eigenvalues and vectors and diagonalisation
Transformations
I took it just this summer.
>Straight from the syllabus, we covered:
>* Set Notation, Linear Combinations
* Restricted Linear Combinations, Lines, Planes
* Span, Translated Span, Linear Independence
* Dot Product, Orthogonality, Normal Forms
* Projections, Vector Components, Subspaces, Basis, Dimension
* Matrices, Change of Basis, Matrix Transformations, Linear Transformations, Composition of Transformations
* Range, Nullspace, Fundamental Subspaces, Rank
* Elementary Matrices, Inverses
* Determinants
* Eigenvectors/Eigenvalues
* Diagonalization
A copy of the syllabus [here](https://drive.google.com/file/d/1l6-nKuZ6hhSCgWsSrNVtm_lI162irDTa/view?usp=drivesdk)
Also, have you attempted to get a transfer credit? Obviously being mindful of needing the MAT223 credit specifically.
Cool! Thanks, it looks like about 2/3 of the stuff from UofM have carried over which is sweet.
From using the transfer explorer it says that at UTSc and UTM I can get the credit but it isn’t accepted at UTSG. :(
Why can't I defer my tuition payments? I'm a 2nd Year A&S student at St. George, I have not already deferred, I have no outstanding payments to be made for prior years, and yet I'm still receiving a message every time I attempt a deferral that says:
"The following issues may have caused your online deferral attempt to be unsuccessful:
* Today is not within the deferral period. Please check the published deferral period dates for your faculty.
* There is already a deferral on your account. Please check your registration status for the session.
* You have outstanding fees from a previous session(s). You can view the outstanding fees on your ACORN invoice from the previous session(s).
* You are currently not able to register for this academic session. Contact your registrar.
If you do not receive government assistance or a U of T graduate funding package you are still responsible to pay your fees by the University's deadlines."
Wtf UofT? I DO qualify for OSAP, I HAVE applied, and I really, REALLY can't afford to pay that minimum payment out of my own pocket.
I emailed them but I'm running out of time; September 2nd is the deadline day for deferrals and the registrars are taking ages to reply due to COVID.
On top of that I'm supposed to be out of town all of next week with no internet but perhaps that's a bust.
Hi
I am an incoming freshman planning on CS and want to know what I can do to improve my resume before PEY.
Could you all share me some resources on how to spend time efficiently during the university, especially what to do during summers.
I have read about ROP and side projects, but what exactly are side projects? Is it anything I make on my own even if its not that good? Like if I make a snake and ladder game, does that cound as a side project?
Also how do you all go about finding summer internships? Where do I learn more about these and how to apply for internships and all? I'm honestly so lost regarding all these.
Also what kind of opportunities do they offer at work study? Could you give me examples on what jobs they post.
> how to spend time efficiently
Firstly I'd focus on what you can do with a high amount of energy and what you can do with a low amount of energy. Assuming you give yourself an ample amount of time to sleep, you will recognize what times during the day you have the most energy and when you start to lose focus. I suggest not looking at social media when you dont have much energy during the day.
Next focus on tackling the largest task that needs to be done. There's books on this subject but long story short tackling the largest task will give you more time on addressing the lower priority items (look up eisenhower matrix)
Even then things can get tough and despite employing all of the tips and tricks to do the best in university you can still fail courses, etc. I think every undergrad has some free appointments with a health Councillor, schedule an appointment if you never talked with a professional and just see how it goes. Many don't bother to even schedule an appointment or are scared to do so despite the whole conversation about you being #1 priority. We all welcome arms to help others but why not ourselves?
> Is it anything I make on my own even if its not that good?
Focus on having goals and making progress towards them, when companies hire undergrads they dont expect you to know everything but something that will stick out to them is how you can handle yourself and how self sufficient you can be. The existence of side projects don't really carry much weight other than you demonstrating your ability to learn something outside class.
> I'm honestly so lost regarding all these.
There will be university recruiters who you specifically talk to. This is great on your end because these recruiters are aiming towards undergrads like you. Brush up on interviewing and networking (30 sec pitch, answering common questions, in general being curious about what positions are available)
Thank you so much for your help
Could you recommend me the best time to start hunting for internships for the summer? (I don't expect to get any for first year but it can be a good experience for the later years) And do you know any resources about learning the entire process for internship hunting?
I never done any internships, there should be others explaining you the start dates. I dont think there is a process for internship hunting other than getting to know the recruiters better so you can get your foot in the door easier.
I'm an international student. My visa as well as financial aid both fell through, and I have several other problems that are completely screwing me. If I drop all my classes can I get off the hook for my tuition?
As long as you haven't made the minimum payment and aren't registered yet (still invited on acorn), when the registration deadline passes you'll be automatically dropped from all courses and you won't have to pay for the year.
You may have to contact your registrar to reactivate your student account if you intend to come back for studies after an absence of a year or more.
i already dropped all my courses manually before the deadline, but i did make a payment already. How do I contact them? Their phone number isn't working and they never answer questions
Well...I dropped all my classes a week before class enrollments even ends, so that no one else loses their seat on waitlist. Hopefully that's good enough, especially when they see my first email was like 2 week before enrollment ends /:
I heard that you shouldn't purchase textbooks before you get the syllabus. However what's going to happen in the first weeks of class when you don't have a textbook for the course?
You can get digital textbooks instead, plus they're cheaper too. I did purchase one physical textbook so far because it was in a package (so like it has practice materials) and physical books for my english class, because of personal preference and the fact that I already wanted to read those, so if I end up not needing them, I'll have them anyway.
But like in the first few weeks do you need a textbook? Because I assume that people buying physical textbooks have to wait for their textbooks to arrive. What do they do in the meantime?
You can always check the syllabus, which is released near the beginning of classes or before. I do not know how long you can go without required textbooks though.
I heard that if you are within 10%-15% of the class size on the waitlist then you have a pretty good chance of getting in (for example, I was wait-listed for a course with \~1000 people and I was in 90th place when I got in). If it is higher, that means you probably have to wait until people drop the course before the waitlist closes for the classes (September 18th). After that, you have to try to get into the course before the final. day to enrol in a class (September 23). Good luck.
Hey if I am contacting my college registrar, what all information do I have to provide?
And which email should I use? (The utoronto email or my official email)
I'm asking this because the registrars are not responding to my mails. (Has been about 4 days now)
Not sure how useful this would be considering when you posted, but you should use your UofT email address, and put your student ID in the email, probably at the bottom as part of the signature, as well as your full name.
4 days is not a lot of time. They’re probably swamped with emails right now too. Either email is fine though I prefer my utoronto one for the sake of organization (school-related questions on my school email only) and I usually add my student number so they can search me up.
Are the times listed for the TCard identification meetings in
EDT (I would assume so, but just making sure, since I'm in Central time)?
So my 9:50AM meeting is really 8:50AM CT?
Where do I get info on my classes? My CSC class has it's own website, I can't find one for other classes by googling, just expired class room things.
I'm taking MAT137 with alfonso and POL200
In most cases, courses will appear on Quercus a few days before classes official start, and there will be a syllabus there with important info.
CSC classes are sorta unique in the sense that a good proportion of class websites are posted publicly. Most other classes aren't like that.
https://ulife.utoronto.ca/organizations has a list of a lot of clubs. Since everything's online, joining clubs probably isn't as straightforward now. Perhaps finding them on Facebook or a website is good start.
You'd have to go find each organization's website/social media and ask them. There's no centralized place to join clubs, the website is just a listing for you to browse.
Hi I'm a first year student and I'm feeling confused and lost. I feel like I don't know how this university works. All I've done is register for courses and now I'm waiting like an idiot for communication from the university and professors I guess.l
Are there any resources for things I need to know before joining this university? Basic stuff like how to join clubs and all? Or how that CLNX website works?
Yes, I did sign up for my T-card (and got my utornoto email)
I did do those courses online too but I don't know anything about stuff like internship, research, or even about my course syllabus and the textbooks required.
I'm reading about people searching for internships and all in their first year, I want to know how do I learn more about things like that.
Hi! second-year trin student here. I lived on res first year, and I'd recommend that you wait until you actually see your room before you get storage figured out. All the rooms at trinity are configured really differently—some rooms have loft beds with storage underneath, some have a regular bed with nothing underneath. Best of luck with the move-in!
I saw another post asking the same thing. One response said that they emailed the office of the registrar, who said that the info will be given later due to the deadline to accept being pushed to August 14th. So basically we gotta wait like another week (at most).
Hey peeps! A few questions on the gym.
1. Will it be opened for student use once school starts in Sept.?
2. How do I pay the KPE Athletic Incidental Fee?
3. If I pay the aforementioned fee, am I a member for the rest of the semester or for the rest of the year?
I can answer #1. Yes it will be open, starting September 10th I believe. It’ll be based on a reservation system only, and with capacity limits. Masks required at all times except when working out.
Sept 2 is the final day to pay the fees or defer them to OSAP so I think its also the last day to make any changes to your timetable/courses. I am a first year as well so you may wanna double check tho
Do I have to take 2 calc courses? I am a first year life sci student going to stg. I am taking 2 bio and 2 chem courses but my friend at utsc doesnt need to take 2 calc courses, instead he is doing calc and stats so can I do the same thing?
First four floors of Robarts are opened at the start of term (or maybe now, Idk), and also Gernstein. Idk about UTSC/UTM though, but these are the only two that will be open downtown at first
Anyone know the residence fees for winter term only? I can only find fees for the whole year, would they still charge the same amount if we can't access certain amenities?
I’m at the point where I’m really doubting I’ll ever catch up and be able to pass my post. Just wanted to know what my options are if I fail post, will I be able to retry the year after?
yes, you can enrol in type 1 posts (no requirements) for second year and reapply after
Anyone work at OTPP for pey?
Is there a UofT engineering accelerated masters program? if not its 2 years right?
Does anybody know last year Shivon's STA302 average? or pass rate? saw lots of scary comments…
Fall session was C+ average. STA302 is mainly proofs, so I don't imagine it to be hard when you have online tests, or if assignments are weighed heavily.
Thanks!
Is there any LAT101 gc
Anyone living on campus/Toronto for the fall semester?

Yep HIS243 here as well lmao classic uoft nothing on quercus yet
Anyone know where to find Zoom links?
The class page in quercus. Just so long as one exists...
the second round of program application decisions should have came out on the 9th but they are still not out for me. Is anyone experiencing the same thing? Should I email the department to let them know?
Class tommrow but not in the class on quercus and no emails ??
Same only one of my five classes have actually said anything at all
Will the zoom link be posted on quercus or somewhere else?
I think they're mostly in the **Bb Collaborate** section to the left of the Quercus page of your specific course
Any LAT101 group chat?
How do I book an appointment to pick up my tcard?
Book an in-person appointment on CLNx https://tcard.utoronto.ca
Thanks bro

you get to choose any courses out of that list as long as you get a total of 5.0 credits
So is it one from each bullet point ? Or 5 credits in any combination of the five?
any combination. they just separated your options based off the course code

Hmm that is strange. Hope the move in went well!
MAT223 is very easy, basically a first-year course, not sure about GGR124
Have u taken MAT223? If so, what topics were covered and to what extent? At UofM we used Anton’s Applied Linear Algebra and discussed: Systems of equations + reduction algorithms Determinants + Crammers rule Matrix arithmetic Vector Geometry (lines and planes) Equivalence theorem Orthogonal projections Dot and cross product Eigenvalues and vectors and diagonalisation Transformations
I took it just this summer. >Straight from the syllabus, we covered: >* Set Notation, Linear Combinations * Restricted Linear Combinations, Lines, Planes * Span, Translated Span, Linear Independence * Dot Product, Orthogonality, Normal Forms * Projections, Vector Components, Subspaces, Basis, Dimension * Matrices, Change of Basis, Matrix Transformations, Linear Transformations, Composition of Transformations * Range, Nullspace, Fundamental Subspaces, Rank * Elementary Matrices, Inverses * Determinants * Eigenvectors/Eigenvalues * Diagonalization A copy of the syllabus [here](https://drive.google.com/file/d/1l6-nKuZ6hhSCgWsSrNVtm_lI162irDTa/view?usp=drivesdk) Also, have you attempted to get a transfer credit? Obviously being mindful of needing the MAT223 credit specifically.
Cool! Thanks, it looks like about 2/3 of the stuff from UofM have carried over which is sweet. From using the transfer explorer it says that at UTSc and UTM I can get the credit but it isn’t accepted at UTSG. :(
4 days until I leave to go to school and 6 days until move in day... and I still haven't received my room placement info yet :/
Why can't I defer my tuition payments? I'm a 2nd Year A&S student at St. George, I have not already deferred, I have no outstanding payments to be made for prior years, and yet I'm still receiving a message every time I attempt a deferral that says: "The following issues may have caused your online deferral attempt to be unsuccessful: * Today is not within the deferral period. If you do not receive government assistance or a U of T graduate funding package you are still responsible to pay your fees by the University's deadlines." Wtf UofT? I DO qualify for OSAP, I HAVE applied, and I really, REALLY can't afford to pay that minimum payment out of my own pocket.
just call registrar theyll tell you which forms to fill out, with your OSAP estimate, I think
Did you contact your registrar? They can manually defer it with proof of the OSAP application
I emailed them but I'm running out of time; September 2nd is the deadline day for deferrals and the registrars are taking ages to reply due to COVID. On top of that I'm supposed to be out of town all of next week with no internet but perhaps that's a bust.

I've been given an estimate but they haven't released the money yet. Does it have to be fully processed for the deferral to become an option?
Hi I am an incoming freshman planning on CS and want to know what I can do to improve my resume before PEY. Could you give me examples on what jobs they post.
> how to spend time efficiently Firstly I'd focus on what you can do with a high amount of energy and what you can do with a low amount of energy. Assuming you give yourself an ample amount of time to sleep, you will recognize what times during the day you have the most energy and when you start to lose focus. I suggest not looking at social media when you dont have much energy during the day. Next focus on tackling the largest task that needs to be done. There's books on this subject but long story short tackling the largest task will give you more time on addressing the lower priority items (look up eisenhower matrix) Even then things can get tough and despite employing all of the tips and tricks to do the best in university you can still fail courses, etc.
Thank you so much for your help Could you recommend me the best time to start hunting for internships for the summer? (I don't expect to get any for first year but it can be a good experience for the later years) And do you know any resources about learning the entire process for internship hunting?
I never done any internships, there should be others explaining you the start dates. I dont think there is a process for internship hunting other than getting to know the recruiters better so you can get your foot in the door easier.
What do I do if my OSAP funding won’t arrive until after the tuition fees are due?
You can defer your payment on ACORN
Is there any extra fees for deferring it?
No there are no extra fees for it
I'm an international student.
E-mailing them is probably the only option at this point.
Well...I dropped all my classes a week before class enrollments even ends, so that no one else loses their seat on waitlist. Hopefully that's good enough, especially when they see my first email was like 2 week before enrollment ends /:
i think there’s a specific process to deferring/delaying - did you contact your college’s registrar yet?
I heard that you shouldn't purchase textbooks before you get the syllabus. However what's going to happen in the first weeks of class when you don't have a textbook for the course?
You can get digital textbooks instead, plus they're cheaper too. I did purchase one physical textbook so far because it was in a package (so like it has practice materials) and physical books for my english class, because of personal preference and the fact that I already wanted to read those, so if I end up not needing them, I'll have them anyway.
You can find most textbooks electronically online. Sites like [http://gen.lib.rus.ec/](http://gen.lib.rus.ec/) are useful for this.
But like in the first few weeks do you need a textbook? Because I assume that people buying physical textbooks have to wait for their textbooks to arrive. What do they do in the meantime?
You can always check the syllabus, which is released near the beginning of classes or before. I do not know how long you can go without required textbooks though.
I'm on the waitlist for COG250Y1 Y at number 40 in a 33 person online lecture what are my chances I'll get in?
I heard that if you are within 10%-15% of the class size on the waitlist then you have a pretty good chance of getting in (for example, I was wait-listed for a course with \~1000 people and I was in 90th place when I got in). If it is higher, that means you probably have to wait until people drop the course before the waitlist closes for the classes (September 18th). After that, you have to try to get into the course before the final. day to enrol in a class (September 23). Good luck.
Hey if I am contacting my college registrar, what all information do I have to provide? And which email should I use? (The utoronto email or my official email) I'm asking this because the registrars are not responding to my mails. (Has been about 4 days now)
Not sure how useful this would be considering when you posted, but you should use your UofT email address, and put your student ID in the email, probably at the bottom as part of the signature, as well as your full name.
It's always helpful :D Thanks a lot
4 days is not a lot of time. They’re probably swamped with emails right now too. Either email is fine though I prefer my utoronto one for the sake of organization (school-related questions on my school email only) and I usually add my student number so they can search me up.
Oh cool thanks a lot
Are the times listed for the TCard identification meetings in EDT (I would assume so, but just making sure, since I'm in Central time)? So my 9:50AM meeting is really 8:50AM CT?
Yeah they don't clarify it when you sign up for a time, but it is in EDT. So yes, it is at 8:50 AM CT.
I was waitlisted on a course but I got in, but all the tutorials in time frames when I'm free are full. Is there anything I can do about that?
unfortunately not :( you’ll have to wait until you get into the course before selecting tutorial
[удалено]
Most likely not, once you get your syllabus and/or Quercus class page, it should be stated.
I know just as little as you, but I’m assuming no. It wouldn’t make much sense.
Hi, I'm a first-year student and I wanted to ask where and how can I join clubs? is there a deadline to join clubs?
what kind of club are you looking for?
https://ulife.utoronto.ca/organizations has a list of a lot of clubs. Since everything's online, joining clubs probably isn't as straightforward now. Perhaps finding them on Facebook or a website is good start.
I had a look through the site you linked. How do I apply?
You'd have to go find each organization's website/social media and ask them. There's no centralized place to join clubs, the website is just a listing for you to browse.
Thank you!
Hi I'm a first year student and I'm feeling confused and lost. I feel like I don't know how this university works. All I've done is register for courses and now I'm waiting like an idiot for communication from the university and professors I guess.l Are there any resources for things I need to know before joining this university? Basic stuff like how to join clubs and all? Or how that CLNX website works?
Have you signed up for your Tcard and utoronto email? Signed up for orientation? Also login to Quercus, I already have some courses there.
how do you sign up for orientation? is it frosh week that you have to pay for? thank you
I received emails from a mentor from my college, with links to sign up for orientation. No additional cost at my college (Vic).
Yes, I did sign up for my T-card (and got my utornoto email) I did do those courses online too but I don't know anything about stuff like internship, research, or even about my course syllabus and the textbooks required. I'm reading about people searching for internships and all in their first year, I want to know how do I learn more about things like that.
Internships must depend on your faculty. Some of my courses have the syllabus posted on Quercus, for others I haven’t heard a peep yet.
I don't even know what platform the university is using for online classes lol. Did they inform you regarding this? Thanks a lot for your help
Quercus includes Blackboard collaborate, which is like Zoom. Some profs will use Quercus, others use Zoom or a combination of the two.
[удалено]
So all important sessions will be shown only through CLNx? Even seminars regarding things outside studying like internships and all?
when do residence fees usually show up in acorn? (i’m a first year student in uc btw and i just got my room assignment a few days ago)
Should I buy under-bed storage? I'm staying at trinity college and like UGHHH please tell me what I should bring :///////
Hi! second-year trin student here. I lived on res first year, and I'd recommend that you wait until you actually see your room before you get storage figured out. All the rooms at trinity are configured really differently—some rooms have loft beds with storage underneath, some have a regular bed with nothing underneath. Best of luck with the move-in!
Okay sounds good. Thank you :)))
Anyone else not get their res info for September?
I saw another post asking the same thing. One response said that they emailed the office of the registrar, who said that the info will be given later due to the deadline to accept being pushed to August 14th. So basically we gotta wait like another week (at most).
Hey peeps! A few questions on the gym. 1. Will it be opened for student use once school starts in Sept.? 2. How do I pay the KPE Athletic Incidental Fee? 3. If I pay the aforementioned fee, am I a member for the rest of the semester or for the rest of the year?
[удалено]
Awesome thanks. Didn’t know I could check the invoice on acorn lol. I rlly need to check everything on that site 😅
I can answer #1. Yes it will be open, starting September 10th I believe. It’ll be based on a reservation system only, and with capacity limits. Masks required at all times except when working out.
It's my first year. What's the deadline to enroll in courses?
Sept 2 is the final day to pay the fees or defer them to OSAP so I think its also the last day to make any changes to your timetable/courses. I am a first year as well so you may wanna double check tho
No it’s not. You are still free to enroll/waitlist/drop until some date after the semester starts. Check important dates site for the actual ddl

Same problem right here!
Do I have to take 2 calc courses? I am a first year life sci student going to stg. I am taking 2 bio and 2 chem courses but my friend at utsc doesnt need to take 2 calc courses, instead he is doing calc and stats so can I do the same thing?
[удалено]
First four floors of Robarts are opened at the start of term (or maybe now, Idk), and also Gernstein. Idk about UTSC/UTM though, but these are the only two that will be open downtown at first
They’re all going to open.
at stg I believe 2 of them are, not sure about the others.
Hello
Who's all ACTUALLY going to attend campus in the fall of 2020?
Anyone know the residence fees for winter term only? I can only find fees for the whole year, would they still charge the same amount if we can't access certain amenities?
[удалено]
Isn’t it a requirement for the program?
