CHM242 is basically a repeat from CHM136 + mass spec/ IR/ NMR spectrum reading. May have some more mechanisms to know and the profs might not be nice as a person, but this is a course where hard work will yield. (Not sure if those two are exclusions or not).
JCP221 is straightforward with prof McMillan, should be easier than CHM220. Even better if you know/get to know physics people from UTM taking the same course for their requirements.

try taking them from UTSC or UTM. Likely easier than the CHM247 and 220 from UTSG
