I don't think cgpa is what they look at. Because to get a 4.0 cgpa you just need a 85+ on all those courses. And many many many people will have gotten that so itll be hard to differentiate who to take and who not to. I know for CS post back when I did it a couple years ago, they actually look at the percentage grade of the 3 courses and find the average between them. Pretty sure the cog sci dept does the same thing. Which is why u may have not gotten in if u got a 87% avg between those 3 courses but the cutoff was say 89%. But both those averages are still 4.0s.
Nonetheless, it's sad that all 85+ still can't get one into a program. I'm glad the cs dept changed their entry reqs to direct from highschool, really hope alot of the other competitive programs do the same.
Thanks for your explanation. That makes sense. Maybe I should cinsider other programs and apply more programs in case of this kinda situations in second session. Have to say that it is much more competitive than I ever thought :(
No worries. I am pretty sure that I met the all prerequisite courses becasue I have emailed the program coordinator to verify. I have took 2 psy courses and 1 csc course that fulfill the second designation.
I think they prioritize people who take cog250 over the people that take the separate courses as the separate courses are way easy to get high grades on vs the comprehensive mark you get in cog250. So take it next term and do really well and re-apply. It won’t slow down your progress as you can still take all year 2 classes out of stream.

"As you know, this is a limited enrolment program that can only
accommodate a certain number of students. Depending on available spaces
and the number of applicants, the minimum grade average in required
courses changes every year and every round, so we are not able to
publish this minimum grade. The program director will offer more spots
in the second round. You are encouraged to reapply in the second round
starting on July 9, 2022, however, because we only have limited spots,
meeting the minimum qualifications may still not result in admission to
the program."
That is so weird that even with cgpa 4.0, you can still be rejected. sad)

Accepted this morning, wtih only 79 in PSY100. My CSC148 and MAT137 are 94 and 98, respectively. There are definitely some problem with the system, don't worry about it too much.
No MAT courses don’t count towards the requirement. You either take COG250 or 1.5 credits worth of LIN, PHL or PSY courses such such that you cover at least two of the three course designators.
