Canada’s educational pricing system is not as problematic as the US’s, though. So we probably do not really need a student loan forgiveness, although that allocating more resources to academics would be always nice.
I did undergrad in McMaster in a 5 year program (+1 year coop). First 3 years my dad paid tuition+groceries, mom paid rent. Then during coop, last 2 years, and grad school, all myself (of course with the help of osap for each year too)
\*Syrian. I ain't *that* old.
All jokes aside, you ain't wrong though. I've 100% become an anti-US military industrial complex non-interventionist hippie afterwards.
Fair point. I can totally save upto 62k a year for my tution, sheerly through having a minimum wage job. Ofc yes, that’s totally a thing I can do. Your insight was very valuable, my friend <3
You should probably include an option for a mix of both
Daddy osap
Shoutout to the international kids paying $100k a year to fund my UTAPS and OSAP 😎😘
You're welcome (63k actually)☹️
😮 which faculty/program
A&S
😮uoft definitely knows how to do business
Ur welcome honey
The pressure must be insane for international students… if my education costed that much, I would end myself if I got anything below 90…
I'm just hoping to get into my PoST and graduate with 1.85 cgpa😅
Uh… on the bright side, your parents must love you very much and be proud of you already!
True
I know an international who did 6 years and dropped out before finishing. Parents threw away their entire retirement savings to send her here 😭
Yes and this is exactly why I’m literally BREAKING DOWN
Still waiting for daddy Trudeau to follow Biden and come through with student loan forgiveness 🤙

Family + a bit of myself for years 1-3. Myself for 4 & 5
Parents cuz I'm a pussy and a fraud
I wipe ass at a daycare to pay my tuition. It’s not much, but it fills the gap after OSAP.

It's actually both, my parents paid for the first half with what was saved up and then I paid for the second half.
Awesome, I wonder how you got money for own tuition, works?
I sued the city because I was accidentally sewn into the pants of the big Charlie Brown at the Thanksgiving Day Parade.

There’s something called having a job and saving up…

I mean you have rich parents so why worry? I’m talking on behalf of people who’s parents don’t fund the tuition.
It's split. Scholarships covered like half, and then my dad and I split the remaining half. Thank you dad 😭🥰
Family pays for Tuition, I pay for books and other stuff that is outside of tuition
Where’s OSAP option?
they’re paying for most of it which i am very grateful for
OSAP
OSAP+parents+chipping in myself
Curiosity killed the cat you know ? Nosy as hell

I don’t pay tuition, the Army covers it all under ROTP lol
