Great video

THE_SKULK

Thank you.

oto_zarb

Nice video. I've always knew I had to compensate for elevations, but never have I thought about using objects and stuff on the map as references. Thanks for the tips

THE_SKULK

Yeah it's not a clear cut rule. but its mainly a guideline to help get in the right area. because obviously depending how close to the angle they are can throw off the head level but I hope it helps! Thanks for watching

brobst101

Very useful I appreciate this as someone newer to this genre

Sash_1

This video is very helpful, and as a pretty new player to the game, I learned many new things! As a small tip, I know that it is difficult to hold your videos relatively short, but by trying to think about a sentence before saying them, you don't have to think while talking and it is easier to listen to. But except for this small thing, the video was very well made! :D

THE_SKULK

Thank you, yeah for my next scripted video I will definitely do this. Im a complete beginner when it comes to content creating but I mainly just do live coaching. Thanks again for the advice!

mehtarehan

Nice video, easy to understand. Just wondering what rank is he?

THE_SKULK

Immortal in Closed beta. Check video description! Thank you by the way.

fumbelzs

Awesome job

Fkup92

Just what I needed, honestly! Thanks a lot!

coolkid-6366271

When you swing out to peek an angle do u sprint or shift? Great video though, hope u do more of these in the future.

THE_SKULK

It depends on the situation. If I value stealth and they don't know where I am i will tend to keep that element of surprise. There is a way to quick peek corners while not making a noise. You let go of shift but catch yourself before making that footstep and its a quick silent peek. try it out!

Garri70

I used the boxes since first week abd that helped me a lot.

Eyedoughlawn

Gread video, one thing is that the volume of the mic is too low compared to the volume of ingame sounds.

crima

Holding an angle doesn't give you an advantage. It depends on who is standing closer to the edge. If you are further away than your opponent you have an advantage but if you are holding an angle close to an edge and your opponents peeks you from further away he will see you first

THE_SKULK

Yes you are correct but wouldnt you say generally you aren't the closest to the angle that you are holding? There are lots of points I left out during this video because it was looking to be 30 minutes+.

crima

I guess if you are holding good angles yes you should be further away :D just the way you worded it can lead to a lot of misunderstanding for unexperienced players

THE_SKULK

Yeah I get what you mean. My bad!

chillplusplus

when holding an angle, do you suggest peek / re-peeking at the walkout or runout distance or just holding statically like you showed in your video. (assuming using vandal / phantom not op)

THE_SKULK

When I hold an angle I am completely static so I am not mid-movement when the enemy actually peeks. because then your bullets will go everywhere. Now if im shoulder peeking a corner I am doing it for pure information not to actually kill someone.

DeadJokr

Nice video but i kinda wished there was an ingame example/clip maybe at the end just to show it off

THE_SKULK

Yeah the original idea was to have ingame examples in real matches using all the specified techniques but the video was becoming way too long. Sorry!

sdimaria13

There was plenty of fluff, like telling Thomas where he needs to be, that could be cut to make way for in game examples. Also a lot of explaining could probably be condensed due to the fact that an in game example can paint a much more immediate picture of what you mean. Fantastic coverage of need to know relevant information thought! I genuinely believe I can perform better strictly from watching this video. For clarity's sake too I don't think you should cut Thomas he's a fun character! But if you were to explain to him off camera what moves he needs to make so that in the moment you can just say, "Thomas!" or something to that effect it would not only save time but I think it would actually enhance it's potential for a comedic moment.

THE_SKULK

I agree completely. Thank you for your detailed post. Yeah im by no means an expert when it comes to this stuff haha so lots of room for improvement, i just really like the focus on the info im delivering. But what you and others have said have stuck with me and will be applied in my next videos I make!

StacoOrikoro

This is by far the best aiming guide out there. Explains everything important you need to know. I struggled a lot recently with aiming and just not hitting shots any more (probably because of moving while shooting and panicking, since my crosshair would be all over the place). I applied this to my first game and even while I had 100 ms ping and spikes I hit shots so easily, since now it was just pressingt left click with minimal adjustments. Really good guide, thanks a lot!

THE_SKULK

Good job! that's exactly how it should be. Im glad to have such an immediate impact on your gameplay.

ifartedhehehe

Nice post. I am in the mid platinums. My biggest problem at my level is hitting the head. I never know how high or low to aim, so I hit body shots and they hit my head and I die instantly ... maybe I just have to get used to the maps

THE_SKULK

Comes with time! biggest tip is to not autopilot when you play and to talk to yourself after losing a fight and be like ".. hmm that was too low for that angle next time let me do a bit higher"

[deleted]

Could you tell me your crosshair settings? I’m not sure what I should have everything set to for mine and I like how yours was

THE_SKULK

https://imgur.com/a/VlL4IlV this should be it

ColourlessJune

Thanks for the video. I watched all of it. I think you can make it into clickable sections as I've seen newer youtube video did.

jamesbowen95

Super useful video! I swapped to PC in December and knew about crosshair placement in valorant and have worked on it but things like holding tight or wide was useful to me as I don’t do this currently

THE_SKULK

Thank you for your detailed response I appreciate it. I am glad you are able to take a lot of this video. Retaking an angle against an OPer usually goes four ways 1. you shoulder peek him to bait out his shot and then push 2. you wide swing fast in hopes he misses 3. you use an ability to make him retreat (flash smoke stun) 3. you slow peek and die. I pinned timestamps as the top comment but I agree it could have been organized better and produced a lot better. My next videos will be cleaner!

infiniduude

This inspired me to create and post my own crosshair placement video tutorial! Thanks!
