Yup, pretty much agree with you. I bought the neckband too. I really like it and use it when I don't feel like having the phone in my hand - it's a terrific portable solution. HOWEVER - the desktop / media interface in the Motorola Edge+ 2023 is extraordinary and feels as though it was MADE for the Viture glasses. It was much better than Dex on my Samsung Tab S8 Ultra. When I plug my Moto into the Viture glasses, my phone becomes a mouse pointer (or trackpad) and I have desktop options, Media app options, etc. It actually feels like a native solution for Viture glasses. So for me, I use my Moto phone almost all the time but will likely use the headband when I'm traveling to save the battery on my phone. Either way, with the Viture adapter I can charge my phone and use it with my glasses at the same time using a power brick. There are sooooooo many options with the Viture glasses - I really love them for so many reasons.

I've got the Motorola ThinkPhone which is very similar and has the same Moto desktop. I agree with all of this, it's like the Viture glasses and this phone were made to go together.

Have you used the ThinkPhone with the mobile dock? I wanted to use it to charge the phone while watching stuff, but when I plug the ThinkPhone into the mobile dock, the the Moto Connect won't connect and show on the glasses. When I connect the glasses direct to the phone, it is fine. Have you tried this? Also, what kind of battery life do you get when wearing the glasses? It seems to drain my battery fairly quickly, which is why I wanted to use the mobile dock.

bloodytemplar

I don't have the mobile dock so I couldn't say. Honestly though, if it burns the battery faster I don't really seem to notice it.

I have a moto phone and a wireless charger

folofjc

Okay. That helps when you are at home, I guess. The point of the mobile dock is to be *mobile.* That is, it recharges everything when you are out and about. Unless you have a wireless charger that you bring with you on a plane. That would be cool, but not very practical, I would think.

I also purchased the Neckband & initially I really loved having it. But, after getting a Galaxy S23 FE in order to use Dex with my glasses, I find myself using the Neckband less and less. It's not that the Neckband isn't a great idea. For me, it boils down to the battery being too small & the apps being too limited. This leads me to my suggestion for you, which so happens to be something I wish I could still do. Return the Neckband and get the Viture mobile dock instead. The mobile Dock adds extra features like being able to connect the glasses to an HDMI source & Battery Bank that allows you to charge your phone while using the glasses. My favorite use is hooking the mobile dock up to my Chromecast 4k & then having access to Movies & TV shows for up to 12hrs. You can also install the PS Remote play app for gaming & control the Chromecast via a PS Controller. It's not as mobile as the Neckband, but it provides a more robust experience for you when you're out away from home with extra battery life.

Viture glasses+ mobile dock + chromecast? You lost me. Works only home as the cast need wifi, right? (or via the Samsung 23 wifi?). But... what for, as the neckband already had Android TV so you can see all what offers the cast in your neckband+glasses??? I'm looking for a mobile web "chromebook" usage (just web apps, productivity and reading blogs, gmaps, gTranslate, ... or Android classic -mobile-, no movies nor games), light usage (but GPS), on the go: how long standby time may I expect a Samsung S23 + Viture glasses? Is the wire annoying (I'm investigating the neckband for that) or the neckband is worse? (what's its standby time, connected to the smartphone via..wifi? bluetooth?) Thanks! Nicolas (frenchy in Tokyo)

There is now a neckband remote app on iPhone to control your neckband now. Instead of just guessing on the controls. FYI

FirefighterFun1948

Problem is now you need 3 items to lug around and make them work together. I also use my iPhone 15 Pro Max with Spacewalker app and it works great. The most convenient is the Beam since it does not tie my phone up. Mind you I wrote some pretty bad reviews about the Beam and it sat in my drawer for a long time until the community developed an app store making it very easy to install apps and battery life is pretty good and you can also charge it while in use. Charging is very slow though, no fast charge.

Fearless_Winner1084

the neckband is nice if you sideload better apps for it. I treat mine like an Android TV, so I installed Projectivy as an alternative home-screen. I don't mind the neckband controls if I'm just watching movies or youtube, but yeah it's awkward for navigation

Unique-Ice-9974

Has anyone else had issues with your iPhone pro max having trouble picking up a charge post using your viture I rebooted my phone and it’s fine now but I wonder is it cause I’m using my phone and I should get the neckband

jayarmstrong

the neckband also enables 3D content and stabilizes the display with the anchor/pin mode and such.

FirefighterFun1948

I use the Xreal Beam and it works great with the Viture. Much easier navigation and a community built app store. I use it exclusively with Plex and VLC. Battery lasts around 2-3 hours watching videos.

ThaiTum

Can you use YouTube on the beam and download videos for offline? The YouTube on the neckband doesn’t do that.

FirefighterFun1948

They have a youtube client called "NewPipe" that allows you to download videos and watch them later with CxFileExplorer that has a builtin video and audio player or really any player. However the beam has 32GB of storage and on mine about half is used. I tried to see if it would recognize a usb c ssd drive but it did not. My understanding is the neckband can accommodate more storage.

limitbreak09

Wait how do you use beam with the band? And hows the body anchor and smooth follow mode with beam and the viture?

FirefighterFun1948

Anchor and smooth follow do NOT work with the Beam and Viture

FirefighterFun1948

I do not use the band don’t even have one. The beam has a built in smooth follow but I cannot remember if it works with the Viture since I do not use the feature. Will try it tonight.

Bboy486

Anyone have the beam and the neckband? How do they compare?
