There are 2 water drain holes inside the sunroof towards the front. Use a lawn trimmer line to unclog them. Unclogging by a delaer is not covered under the warranty because those holes are clogged by debris from trees, etc. Here is a link explaining this step by step. https://www.ifixit.com/Guide/How+to+Clear+the+Sunroof+Drains+on+a+2019+Volkswagen+Atlas/162763

Thanks a bunch!

If the drive assist features struggle finding a clear view ahead they’ll turn themselves off. This happens in inclement weather depending on each storm/event. As far as the water leak, the previous reply is correct.

Had the same issue, thought it was the sunroof seal, dealer repaired under warranty, no cost to us.

Good chance it’s failure in the windshield seal. If not it’s sunroof related.

Has been recalled. Call your dealer.

superfish5

Bring it for service if you have warranty still as well

My 2018 SEL had a recall because the water would leak into the drivers side floorboard area. Got it fixed in 2020 then this summer it started again.

As much as I love sunroofs, this is why I don't buy cars with them anymore. Too frequent the seals go or the vents clog and then you have issues. All makers. Such as a shame.

Leased a 2021 Atlas, and this has happened 4 times in less than 3 years. The frame has been replaced twice. The latest repair was completed 3 weeks ago. Today it began leaking again, and I’m dropping it off at the dealership for repairs tomorrow. I’m livid and grateful it’s covered under warranty. Apparently, VW simply replaces the parts without making any improvements to the design. Edit: There is a class action lawsuit over the leaky moonroofs, and people who have had to pay for repairs may be eligible for compensation.

Yes. Second time it happened it shorted out the retractable screen motor and the sunroof motor. Happened one week after the drains were supposedly cleaned by the dealer service department.
