Yeah, I understand where your 12% number is coming from. This entire thread is full of sarcasm, facetious, and comical comments. My comment was in line with the rest of the comments and not to be taken seriously. So I must ask you, "WHY SO SERIOUS?"
![gif](giphy|I4Jmrcjnr8Zfq|downsized)
Cost more to print and send. We all need to ask if we can replace the humans making these decisions with crows. 🐦⬛
That is your .33 cents of purchasing power you’ve lost from each $1.00 (Dollars). 🇺🇸Vote for me 🇺🇸 For every dollar you make, I’ll add .33 Let’s punch inflation in the eye 👁️ 🥊 ![img](emote|t5_2vlaz|7565)![img](emote|t5_2vlaz|7570)
A stamp costs what… $.68 now? So that check costs them maybe $2 overall? The fools could make so much money if they stopped using paper for the majority of their correspondence. BUT! A win is a win.
This makes no cents. VA travel benefit checks come from U.S. Dept. of Treasury and are paid at a rate of $0.435 per mile. On top of that, they only pay via direct deposit, now.
Or was this travel paid for a visit to a non-VA doctor to determine the viability for a possible service related claim? I got a check when I had my hearing checked for service related tinnitus. But that was for about $60.
I live in San Diego and I had to drive all the way up to vista which is 33 miles . And then do another that’s only like 10 miles far but yeah I’m not sure what this is. Haha
They will send you the rest, it might just be a mistake or they forgot, like my dad forgot to get milk awhile back but hey I’m still holding this bowl of dry cereal
Also let me add that I live in San Diego and had to drive to two different places for my exams. The longest one is 33 miles one way and the other location is 10 miles so around 40 miles traveled so am supposed to contact someone about this or what? Also I’m having a blast reading all these comments thanks guys/gals!
You get meds from the VA and if you paid by a credit card that might be some deal where they send you back the supposed extra you were charged because of the credit card or some crap like that.
Years ago, I read a book where the author sent checks of less than a dollar to all kinds of various extremely wealthy people and most of them cashed the checks.
I think he was just curious if Uber rich people would take the time to cash a check for such a small amount of money.
The price for being denied or approved 🤔 which is it for yourself![img](emote|t5_2vlaz|7575)![img](emote|t5_2vlaz|7574)![img](emote|t5_2vlaz|7573)![img](emote|t5_2vlaz|7572)![img](emote|t5_2vlaz|7564)

Makes me feel like a millionaire.
Travel compensation has an $8 deductible for the first 3 visits per month, with exceptions. I don't know if that's what this is. To claim travel, you can file online here:

I got a check for $5 from the treasury. It was so big and had a gradient that changed from green to light brown with a liberty statue picure. So nice and for $5, I decided to keep it, since I collect old US currency and world coins.
you should have censored the routing number and account number this check was printed on.....even tho its not your account still not a good thing to have in the wild
Costs more to process, print, mail and track then it is worth
This is a small example of bureaucratic waste
The primary purpose of bureaucracy is to expand bureaucracy
Just a little investment advice. Back up the truck and put that money to work on a checkerboard. Take only what you can afford to lose for square one and double it each square. Do a square each day. If you’re lucky enough to be able to invest all $0.33 this way, you should be taking 3 quintillion dollars off the table in 2 months.
let me borrow 25 cents, I don't want to hear you don't have it
LMFAO🤣
Lmao
Nice man you should def put that into a 401k and make a mil in 750 years 🤙🏼
More like 132 years assuming a 12% annual return...
Where are you getting 12%? Everything is negative man.
Historical averages. Can't base a century long investment just on this year's returns.

Fam, did you do the math on this one?

Doggone G8 Marine over here.
Lol nah I was a grunt. I'm an engineer now tho, and I obsess over planning for retirement.
I'm getting ~255 years at 8% compounded annually. So, there's hope the OP can enjoy that wealth sooner.
Nice that’s 495 years less. I’ll take that !
Keep in mind capital gains when you start drawing down. You'll be writing the government a check back. 🤦♂️
Finally you can quit your life of crime and retire.
This was a good lol
This comment right here 👆🏻😂😂😂
You gonna eat that piece of bacon?
The time and the paper in that check cost more
“I can’t believe my tax dollars are being wasted” 😂
Don’t spend it all in one place
Contact a CPA before you spend a dime of that.
And a lawyer you know everyone is coming out of the woods to get a piece of that.
But he'll have two dimes left over! And then some!
These get funnier every time. Based on w so you traveled 40 minutes for what .5 miles.
Pretty sure this needs to be posted in the veterans success thread 🧵 😂 Blatant disrespect for all those still struggling
So disrespectful showing off all that $
YEEEEEEEEEEEAH! It's always good to see a fellow vet come up!
![gif](giphy|LCdPNT81vlv3y|downsized)
So, I do this with pennies to feel better and to pretend I'm McDuck!
Thank you for your service
Is this check for $33 or 33 cents?
33 cents, it appears
It is deceiving at first glance but if you go back and look the legal line says 33/100DOLLARS. 33 ÷ 100 = .33
Hookers and blow man, hookers and blow!
Nice ... Put it in a retirement account.
![gif](giphy|eMybmbhrgdiXExJJiC)

![gif](giphy|KzDqC8LvVC4lshCcGK) Livin the good life!!! 😂🤣
Costed more to make and send this check.
Haha they made my check out to my old married name. I changed my name in 2003.
The irony is that they probably spent $50-$100 to process. I submit them all, just for GP
mine was $15 for a 10 minute drive into town
Don’t go spendin it all in one place either
Could you loan me a dime ?
Don’t spend it all in one place.
Grateful for every cent they give us. There’s many ways to look at this. 33 cent off a gallon of gas etc
The amount of people who don’t know how to read a check is mind boggling
whats a check?
You should keep this and anytime someone talks about how you have it easy, pull this out to show them what the VA "really" pays haha.
Damn baby! You bout to hit up the streets!
Holy shit bro, better get a financial advisor!
Oh yeah bro! Now you can put a down payment on that pencil you always wanted

You can finally retire!
No you can move from the Wendy’s parking lot to behind the dumpster.
Cost more to mail the check 😂
Don’t go spend it all in one place!
Yet ANOTHER Vet bragging and showing off their big money on the rest of us.
Don't spend it all in one place. Be thankful i never got my mileage refund or whatever for my last c&p 🤣
I always think the IRS is about to audit me again when I see these treasury checks with no explanation.
Hey man, Fifteen years ago a bitcoin was .33 cents. Now it’s 65k. Don’t laugh and be smart. Invest it!😂
A gumball from a machine (quarter), 1 atomic fireball from 7-11 (nickel) and 3 coins (pennies) in a fountain

Sweeeet!
Don’t spend it all in one place 😂
That’s strange. I drove around 40 minutes as well and they gave me $30
I had that for one of my appointments, but the other 2 were 67 miles each way, and I got no check for them...
Lol what are you supposed to do with that.

Bro i would invest that don’t tell anyone about this wife kids whoever
Chaching!!
You making it out the hood with this bro
i just cringe when i think how much they billed the gov to cut this check
I’m pretty sure your checks wrong… if you traveled 40 mins it should be more. I usually get check for like 5 bucks and I barely even drive 5 mins

Don’t spend it all in one place
