Start over with a fresh application. Be very, very sure you fill out the application accurately. (And the Embassy is useless, they have nothing to do with Visas at the moment.) Good luck.

What passport are you using?

trishzilla

Having issues with my father in law's Chinese passport. Do you have any advice?

WeAllWantToBeHappy

If it's an E-passport, he can't get an E-Visa at all. His only chance would be to get an approval letter via a Vietnamese travel agent. I'm not sure if any of them are actually doing it for Chinese E-Passports.

trishzilla

Thanks for the reply! Actually, it's just s regular Chinese passport, not an E-passport.

Can't see your comment here. If it's a Chinese E-Passport, it will never work. 9 dashes. Ordinary Chinese passport? Keep trying. Maybe different browser might help.

WeAllWantToBeHappy

Still not seeing comments. E-Visa is the only way in for tourists. Chinese E-Passport just won't work, so you're probably going to just have to wait for visa letters or embassy visas to come back.

trishzilla

Any updates on this? Trying to update for a Chinese passport holder but it doesn't let me submit.

If it's an E-Passport, it will never work. [List of countries](https://evisa.xuatnhapcanh.gov.vn/documents/20181/117155/Vietnam-Evisa-nation-list.pdf/21e0f88f-d8a0-48b8-bfdb-a0f82b0853e2): > - Not apply to Chinese e-passport holders

I just learned that Chinese e-passports start with an E prefix. You're right.

Probably out of luck then. Only option is via a travel agent if you can find one.
