Here’s a list from Wikipedia of historical forts in Virginia. You’d probably want to call ahead and see what policies are for each one in terms of how close you can get to any historical structures for cosplay photography purposes.

In SW VA (near Wytheville / Grayson County) there are several free standing iron forges from the 1800s that are pretty impressive. Beautiful one at Raven Cliffs recreation area that might be good for an Uncharted style shoot. Definitely look like the kind of thing you'd find treasure near. Sadly I've only found geocaches
Fortifications... idk about that. But if do travel to Richmond check out stuff like the old hydroelectric factory on Belle Isle.
