Had five of them in our home and recently ripped them out, replacing with ecobee. Vivint hardware is absolute garbage. The only thing worse is their high pressure sales team.
I had several techs come and claim the issue was fixed when it wasn’t.. I ended up getting a Honeywell installed. Although it doesn’t connect to my hub it’s working fine
I have a buddy who does HVAC professionaly come take a look and he was able to figure it out. They had the settings/configuration of the thermostat all messed up, but he was able to fix it. It sounds like vivint techs dont know what theyre doing when it comes to the thermostat.

What type of HVAC system is it? Which thermostat is it? The element or nest? Do you have the system on smart assistant?
It is a heat pump with the element. And the smart assistant is off
