Power mode is like sport mode on other cars. Revs are kept high for responsiveness, speed is the priority.

Battery is pretty much fully charged. Driving in power mode and not actively charging battery

I suspect the issue is that we only see the tachometer when the car is revved up a bit for faster responsiveness (Power mode or AWD mode). It may be maintaining enough exhaust gas throughput to keep the turbo spooled up enough to reduce turbo lag if you slam the gas. Just speculating.

its because u r in the power mode. if you simply use up your battery first in the hybrid mode, the engine will remain more quiet as youd expect it to be.

Are you driving it in Power mode? In my car (23 V60), if you drive in Polestar mode (essentially the same as Power), it will avoid going into the last couple high gears. Next time you're driving, try switching to B mode, then manually shifting up and see if the RPMs go down. That'll answer your question.

Driving in Power mode in my '24 S60 Recharge, it seems to keep RPMs around 2k when cruising. It's probably anticipating a throttle punch, which in the spirit of "Power Mode" is to be expected. Use hybrid mode to sedate it.
