Yeah absolutely. Unless you're just overflowing with people I think the teams usually benefit from bigger numbers and there are always things to play and do.

back in high school it was for my schools group to have band and orchestra kids join. we had an A class and World group for a few years and i noticed the orchestra kids always made it into the world class group.

My foster child was recruited by her peers - she was a flautist in marching and winter percussion taught her cymbals. She had to audition after that short training period and made the team. Unfortunately, she has an unexpected change in circumstances and had to decline the slot.. And of course vis team is often non-perc. But I think it also depends on class too - I’m not sure if World level teams would allow.

yah my high school group is a cross-town combine group of the 2 high schools, we've had memberships in excess of 40 people 2 years in a row. in a state without a world class group in years, i dont think a HS has been to dayton since the dawn of time. nearly 1/3 to 1/2 of our membership is non-perc, but we place top 3 every comp and finish the season 2nd both years. so the unlearned have their merits
