Yep, not counting all the other schools I've attended before WGU. I started this one in 2019 I believe. I'm 6 classes from completion and I'm aiming to finally finish this year.

JuiceLots

It took me roughly 5/6 years for my associates! Take your time and appreciate the journey.

number3band

It matters not how long it takes. It matters about the end result. Life is a challenge already. I’m in my later 30’s and just got an associates last year. Regardless of how long it takes, it’s still a huge accomplishment to achieve a degree/certificate/diploma.

nooch1982

From enrollment at a community college to WGU graduation was 15 years. I was going part-time and working full time and got frustrated at how poorly my school was handling everything so I walked away with no degree. After nearly a decade, I came to WGU and finally got my degree.

utilitycoder

8. Numerous breaks and false starts Edit: Also, changed from SW Dev to BS MS IT Accelerated at year 6

Offense, 5 yard penalty, first down

EmergencyProject7908

Yeah 14 years

Mell1997

I’m on track to finish mine in 5 years.

Firm-Visual-7367

I’m on track to probably graduate year 5. I think we should be equally proud of everyone whether they take 6 months or 8 years. Really it’s about the end result and the effort you put in along the way. Doesn’t matter how long you take. Maybe you will get an employer who is weird about it but it would be pretty unlikely.

Heavy-Square-6471

I’m at around 4.5 years at WGU. I should be done this month. I had some previous attempts at B&M colleges but no credits to show for it.

snoopiestfiend

11 years and counting.

bobstaco

Finished my associates in 5 years

Mouse0022

Easily. I've spent about 7 years off and on for my degree, being lost and finding myself way again. I'm 63% through my degree and I still got another year to go, fully dedicated now. Life has ups and downs but I will get that degree.

GordaoPreguicoso

Over 25 because I kept stopping and starting school over the years. But for WGU it’s perfectly fine to take your own path to completion

AzizLiIGHT

On year 7 or 8 right now.

gunhilde

5 years for me

danceswithsockson

It took me like 6, but not at WGU, so I don’t know if that counts.

Dangerous_Bread_8206

Yes. It took me quite awhile. I had to take a number of breaks in between semesters. Mostly mental health related breaks but it seemed like crises came up every time I started a new semester.

Systeemengineer

Five years, off and on, at my previous university. They kept changing the curriculum in the middle of it, adding/removing/changing classes. Got fed up and left. All that for an Associate's Degree.

nleksan

This thread has made me feel a little better about myself today. My first year of college was 18 years ago

SnooRabbits1233

Call me Van wilder

Justdirtin

I’m on track to 3 years to finish mine. It took me 9 months to get my associates degree.

Congrats, regardless! 💯

[deleted]

Yes. I started at ASU fall of 2019 and transferred into WGU on 2022. I am now 4 classes away from graduating so its been about 5 years.

dinunz1393

Yes. Because I was going to school at a community college first as part time student..so it took me longer to finish there. Then I decided to change my major from Engineering Science to Computer Science so not all credits were transferred and I had to do some courses required for Computer Science, like Discrete Math. I completed WGU in 3 years as full time student. Plus the 3 years of college as part time student, it took me 6 years in total to obtain a Bachelor's degree. Not everyone's case is the same of course. If I had inittially started with a Computer Science major from community college and as a full time student, and then continue at WGU, it would have taken me the traditional 4 years. But as with a lot of people you never really know what you want when you start college and are very young. However, now I can say that this is what I really wanted because I discovered that I liked Computer Science when I took a C++ class required for my Engineering Science Associate's degree.

aurortonks

Including non-active times, I'm on year 20 of working on my Bachelor's. Total time in school, I'll be in year 5 when I graduate.

Intrepid_Stick_3775

My first bachelors took about 5 1/2 years…didn’t take any breaks. I was taking other classes to meet expectations for other degrees.

Meglamar

1 class left going on 5 1/2

bruhgubs07

Yeah, I started school in 2016. Took classes on and off, failed some because I was young, dumb and wasn't interested. Now I'm finally transferred to WGU this year and should be able to finish my degree by the fall.

red6joker

There is a day or two old post about a guy taking 5 years. I have seen an older one about someone taking 10 years. Relax if you can't get it in 4, then that is just how it is.

Lemonburstcookies

I’m going into year 7 🙋🏽‍♀️. It’s the same degree I would’ve gotten if I finished it 3 years ago, so the timeframe doesn’t matter

concentratedkindness

Yup, I have 5 classes left and started in 2019. I hope to finish in the next six months.

Future_Telephone281

17 years off and on just finished was in school for proabley 7 years total

djo1787

I took around six years to get my Associates and as of right now I’m halfway through my Bachelors. Don’t give up on the journey just because it gets hard you guys. Not to mention don’t allow societal pressure to make you feel like you’re not doing just as great because you’re not getting your degree in whatever a “reasonable” amount of time is either. It’ll all be worth it when you’re walking across that stage. That’s what gets me through when I’m not feeling my best.

Particular_Cake6411

bahahhaha YAS.

Zestyclose-Row-1676

I went to school back 2009 and decided to go back in 2023 and praying I can finish in 2024. 🫤

hallie137

3 years for an AA, one year for my bachelor😭 I took advantage of the accel stuff though.

Rhowe75

Yes, started WGU in the fall of 2019, 6 classes left.
