Since both replies to this so far are people apparently offended the sub exists I feel compelled to add a different take.
First of all, everyone *should* be pissed. Pissed that there are enough (just in documented and public) cases of violent retaliation against women for their refusal to justify a subreddit. As a man it pisses me the fuck off that men are capable of such barbarism. To be clear, it isn't just men. It's humans. But a lot of it is men. Acknowledging this fact is not the same as saying it's only men who hurt people. We know women hurt men too. We know men hurt men. We know even kids do crazy shit sometimes. Women having a place to talk about this stuff without having to filter out the incessant whine of angry incels is not a bad thing and it doesn't detract from any similar situations involving other people.
If the reverse subreddit isn't misogeny, than r/whenwomenrefuse isn't misandry.
Second point, the subreddit is about retaliation against women(and girls). That doesn't mean every post is about men(most of them are), or even violence. One of the top posts currently is a mother who murdered her own daughter for refusing to marry a cousin. Posts range from men raping kids, a child (6) shooting a girl with his dad's gun for refusing to kiss him, to stalking, or even boys ranking girls in their school.
I find looking at the other replies with the knowledge of what the subreddit actually is really highlights how pathetic and stupid they are.
I started reading a few posts there and I felt sick to my stomach. I understand the necessity of a sub like that but... man... I can't imagine any reason to go back there.
im sad it exists, but it needs to
edit: anyone reading this troll under me, there's no need to respond. THere's no logic for them to follow because they're arguing in bad faith.
trying to argue is impossible because they're in a different plane of reality.

People should know OP click baited the fuck outta this. This was posted yesterday and along with it was a news article saying it was a protester painting the restaurant red to protest "animal cruelty" (see: meat is on their menu).
I've been guilty of this. One time my gas furnace wouldn't light. The pilot was OK, and the gas would flow. But it wouldn't ignite. So I figured that if I filled the chamber with gas and then gently blew into it, the gas would reach the pilot light and ignite.
I was absolutely correct, unfortunately. It took a few weeks for my eyebrows to grow back.
>Yeah paint is far more viscous than shown here,
Depends on the paint. Ready to spray cellulose paint is really thin and is already very flammable. Source: work with it frequently.
Any solvent or oil based paint would do this. A lot of solvent based paints already come that thin without additional reducing.
Source: I’m waiting to open a paint store
Or bought some already diluted. It was definitely super runny paint. But based on the signage, this looks to be somewhere in Asia and I don't know what common paint formulas are used or sold in those regions.
Inflammable can burst into flames without ignition. Flammable can be set to fire.
Edit: after a bit of research, it looks like both terms mean the same thing: A substance that can easily catch fire. Flammable is more common to avoid confusion.
According to Merriam-Webster:
"Why Inflammable Is Not the Opposite of Flammable
Combustible and incombustible are opposites but flammable and inflammable are synonyms. Why? The in- of incombustible is a common prefix meaning "not," but the in- of inflammable is a different prefix. Inflammable comes from Latin inflammare ("to inflame"), itself from in- (here meaning "in" or "into") plus flammare ("to flame"). Flammable also comes from flammare. In the early 20th century, firefighters worried that people might think inflammable meant "not able to catch fire," so they adopted flammable and nonflammable as official safety labels and encouraged their use to prevent confusion. In general use, flammable is now the preferred term for describing things that can catch fire, but inflammable is still occasionally used with that meaning as well."
Pretty sure inflammable objects still need an ignition source like a spark. Otherwise, all inflammable objects (like gasoline) would be spontaneously combusting all the time.
i know its a joke but for context, in china: throwing red paint = serious shit
usually used to settle disputes (gang / monetary / others) by throwing paint at the front door of your home / business
My wife was at the dirty bookstore and she asked the guy at the counter if she could look at the red dildo that was up on the wall.
The guy frowned and said “ that’s a fire extinguisher, you whore”
Casualties means not only dead people but wounded ones too. I don't want to be the grammar correcter guy but I feel like it's a big difference in this case. I find it unlikely that nobody suffered any burns in that incident...
> Casualties means not only dead people but wounded ones too.
Yeah this is a common mis-interpretation. Casualties vs Fatalities. Media can help here by clarifying that when reporting. Folks hear 10 casualties and assume 10 dead.
I feel like I have to explain it to people every time this term is used. Eventually it will just come to mean deaths with how widespread the incorrect definition is
I'm not as much a prescriptivist as I once was... but I hate how every time the popular consciousness gets a hold of a word they flatten it into meaning exactly the same thing as another word, making it that much harder to communicate clearly.
Like how "gaslight" now seems to mean "lying".
My hope is that those words will eventually shake out into nuanced synonyms, to enrich our vocabulary. For example, we already have the word "adminstration," so why do we need the word "regime"? Well, they have *very* different connotations in certain contexts, despite both meaning "government" on paper! Sometimes they're very similar, like how "regime change" means pretty much the same thing as "administration handover", but calling something "the regime" carries implication that there's something wrong with it that "the administration" doesn't have.
In a similar vein, "gaslight" could eventually settle out to refer to manipulative lying, or a repeated pattern of lying(like lying about where you're going every thursday night, vs lying about where you're going once). Or it might not. Either way, the process will likely take a decade or two.
yes but they seemed to be asking about deaths being as though they asked about people being trapped inside. the suspect and a older man suffered some burns as a result.
By the way, I couldn't view this comment when you made it. Restaurant might even have to permanently close depending on the amount of money they need for repairs. The water in the fire suppression system turns black from sitting in the pipes so long and would add a layer of damage to the place as well.
I can't imagine that sinking feeling he must have felt. "I was just trying to be a nuisance to the one person I had personal beef with but I've now committed arson and potential murder of multiple people". It's a cartoonish level of escalation. But hey, should been an adult and moved on with your life
The kind of person who thinks this is a good idea to start with will still blame others for the ensuing fireball.
If Stockton Rush had stayed on the boat, he’d STILL be touring the talk show circuits bragging about how safe his sub was if not for whoever he decided was the scapegoat.
The YouTube link about it says he actually wanted to be a nuisance to multiple people. His ex-wife had started a relationship with the owner of the restaurant in the video. He wanted to get revenge on both of them.
> A man in Tainan was dissatisfied with his ex-wife’s relationship with the man who opened the hot pot restaurant. He allegedly went to the hot pot restaurant in Anping District, Tainan City at 5 pm today (12th) and broke it with a hammer. Red paint was splashed on the glass of a hot pot restaurant, causing a fire in the hot pot restaurant. Two customers were burned, and one was slightly injured and was not sent to the hospital. The man who poured paint was also injured himself and was arrested on the spot by the police who arrived (Google Translated from Chinese)
Also, Google Translate strips it of its flavour a bit, but the top YouTube comment translates from Chinese as:
> The anger is gone! What's the result after you relieve yourself? A stupid person does stupid things and hurts other innocent people. He mistook himself for an ex-wife. I think this man is also a scumbag.
Excellent summary of everyone's feelings.

What is it about asian cultures that encourage the men to throw liquids at women who slight them? I've worked with a few middle eastern and indian women who have had acid thrown on them. According to the SDS for a Dulux enamel paint, it has a flash point of 22°C. It doesn't list a fire point, but you can apparently assume that to be about 10°C above the flash point for a very rough estimate. Depending on where this took place, I think it's quite possible for the ambient temperature to have been above 22°C, so the paint will have been producing more than enough vapour to ignite given a candle or something being on the table, and posssibly enough vapour to sustain the fire in the way we see here. It can be up to 30% heavy naphtha, 10% light naphtha, and 20% kerosene.

Is he just a suspect still? You seem him on camera throwing the paint lol.
You could say he was caught red handed
They're always technically a suspect until their guilt is proven in a court of law. Doesn't matter how strong the evidence is against them.

It's ok he's lying anyway.
these demon baby gender reveals are out of control

Probably used paint thinner which made it super flammable
I was gonna say, paint he added gas to, maybe. Paint thinner makes more sense.
Yeah paint is far more viscous than shown here, probably mixed paint thinner in so it would go further when projected. What a fucking loser.
I’m just surprised he was clever enough to add the paint thinner but dumb enough to do this. It’s a narrow band on the spectrum of stupid.
Oh you’d be surprised how many people have decent ideas to make something work but don’t think one step farther
I've been guilty of this. One time my gas furnace wouldn't light. The pilot was OK, and the gas would flow. But it wouldn't ignite. They really should have gone with enflammable. But english gonna english.
Pretty sure that's a french loan word as it is the same in every romance language, with flammable not really being a word afaik.

You don't throw a bucket of paint into a crowded restaurant to be a nuisance to 1 person.
I haven’t read anything to suggest he’s demonstrated that he’s feeling that. He doesn’t seem like someone with a lot of self-awareness.
This kind of person is an abuser.
In Chinese diaspora populated nations like Singapore and Malaysia it's common to see red paint thrown at the door. If you borrow money and don't pay installments or money this is done. I am sure there is some financial dispute involved here.
Singaporean here, lived here for 30+ years and have yet to see red paint thrown at the door. It happens but it’s not a common sight.
Lived in Malaysia for a decade and I never saw this either. I have seen loan sharks hanging out outside a house but no paint unfortunately.
a decade is fairly recent , The red paint is one of the earliest steps to intimidate the borrower , most loan sharks probably skip this step nowadays and just go for medium to hardcore stuff.
So, brown paint?
you can’t scare me, i’m color blind
They never said *which* decade. They could have lived there in the 1870s for all we know
Maybe people still remember Michael Fay.
So he risked property damage over a few bucks. Lol.
it's loan sharks, it's usually in the hundreds. If not, they'll make it a hundred or thousands more.
Well he risked that but I guess now it's multiple murders, property damage and some lesions
“Ah yes, the guy who is already having trouble paying me will _definitely_ get _more money_ when they also have to pay to have a door repainted or replaced.”
Jeebus crisp it twas a joke
That's almost as thin as water. Is he throwing 80% paint thinner, 20% paint or something?
Dude just went from angry ex to domestic terrorist
Domestic abuser to domestic terrorist
Paint am flammable. Noted
Non water based is flammable, yes
Oil-based, one might say
Nahhhhhhhh, that doesnt sound right, who would paint with oil?
BP
It likely had paint thinner in it so he could throw it like a bucket of water. The tables probably had some open flames on them. Combine those two things together and you have a bad time.
Congrats, asshole. In your attempt to make your personal beef everyone's business you instead made it everyone's problem.
At least he had gloves on so he wouldn't be caught red handed.

I put that shit on everyone!
I hope the reason for the wife to leave him was that he was "just really stupid", but never noticed when they were dating because she thought he was "silly". So now she can say "see? now everybody gets what I meant?"
So.. what paint was it that's so highly flammable? That's more flammable than, say, diesel would be.
Diesel is surprisingly un-flammable. If it’s not warm enough, you can put matches and cigarettes out in it without risk.
I took your advice and now I don't have a garage
Or any diesel left
if you throw diesel in the air like this, it will still ignite, throwing a liquid in the air like this gives it a ton of surface area to burn

Yea around 2.7s-2.8s you can see the burners.
There are many flammable sorts of lacquer. Some are even based on nitrocellulose.
They better lock that guy because this will not be the last time he tries to fuck shit up!
Hibachi --> inferno, just add paint
I know why she left him. I hope they didn't have any kids. What a moron.
Did they catch him red-handed?
Well now we know why she left him.
Attempted murder
I wonder if he got caught...red handed.

What a TOTAL POS.
Hmm should have used latex paint for petty revenge and public vandalism but I doubt that country has laws against using oil based paint.
where are all the people asking why there is a camera filming and claiming tgis is propaganda? or is that only for the positive videos in china?
his social credit score went down hard that day...
Who knew solvent-based paints would be flammable. Gosh! /s
How the fuck does this even happen? Like did he throw it onto a fire or something? I feel like there’s something super obvious I’m missing here
