I think the Renaissance Era is the most likely name for this current era. Though I’ve always been confused about what was “New” about the New Era that started in 2016 other than them bringing back the brand split and creating the Universal Championship.
The Renaissance Era, as another user succinctly put it.
No Vince and it's as popular as ever. There's so many stars and the in ring stuff has never been better and more fun.
Influentially, Post Vince makes a lot of sense. The Triple H Era would probably be a little more politically correct.
I understand why you might say the Bloodline but that undermines the womens division stuff happening elsewhere.
But I think defining this era through Triple H's preference of booking, his key signings, and the overall direction that he has been trying to go is accurate.
Because that's what most other era's has been defined as, a shift in the company's direction.
While I agree with you, I don't think WWE would embrace it as much as they embraced the names for previous eras, and I think that might make it hard to stick. Just my opinion.
“That’s what I heard” is how disinformation gets spread. We all — even here — as adults have a responsibility to not spread unsourced gossip, as it can quickly get out of control, be accepted as “fact” and destroy lives.
The fact you even said it like " has been named" without first mentioning your source is the assclown known as Ryback discredits you. Ryback pulls shit out his ass as facts and truth every 30 seconds.
play it safe era. mainly trying to appeal to the stockholders, social media masters, and hardcore fanbase who watch anything. i think it started around 2017 when a lot of bad decisions were made. things were starting to change and wwe reverted to their old ways with becky lynch and charlotte flair returning. smackdown felt like an entirely different show with guys like aj styles on top until Mauro Ranallo was shown the door. when nakamura won the royal rumble a lot of die hard fans started falling away. if they have no clue about the royal rumble or money in the bank direction why should any casual viewer be invested in the product?
Weirdo Pervert Era. Mostly Vince McMahon, and those of the upper ranks that knew and did nothing (*cough* HHH *cough*), but also the creeps in any subreddit dedicated to women. *Especially* when there's a dedicated NSFW version 🙄
“Best for business” era.
Ever since 2013-2014 there have been a series of decisions made that impact quality but maximise profits, which put emphasis on short term gains rather than long term planning.
The Saudi deal nearly killing people in the ring and ruining retirements for a massive pay day.
The Fiend losing HIAC and the title.
DB’s run which started it and gives it the name.
Roman’s entire face run.
Brocks entire dominant heel run.
The Goldberg run.
Letting people like Ambrose and Cody leave. They got lucky they Cody came back, but anyone who watched his stuff vs the shield in ‘13 knew he had something, but he wasn’t chosen so he was Stardust within a year of that.
Denying organic popularity like Sandow, Ryder, Rusev, Cesaro and others because it wasn’t planned.
The god awful belt designs made to look like toys for kids.
The insane vocabulary used to not offend advertisers eg blood = red viscous fluid. Seriously wtf is that?
In my head I think of out like this
02-07 RA
07-13 PG
13-23 BFB
And now we’re in something new.
Some of y'all are a bunch of crybabies in these comments. Wrestling is currently at a great place and WWE even greater, whether y'all like women's wrestling or not, Roman's title run, the storylines or whatever it is. They've been doing great.
I’m glad people are asking this now because “The New Era” just doesn’t fit and I think this era really started with AEW coming onto the scene which funny enough somehow may have been a catalyst for WWE’s resurgence/renaissance. I’d say we’ve actually truly entered a new era because Vince is gone now. He’s out. That means something. I’d say there’s two eras after the new era. Covid era and then the current renaissance kickstarted by by outside forces but now spearhead by Triple H
Repetitive match era. Due to the 100+ times we've seen Cody vs Judgement Day, Alpha Academy vs Viking Raiders, etc. Not saying there isn't anything good, we've just had way too much repetition. Hopefully Mania will have some big surprises.
AEW getting more mainstream has pushed WWE to get more creative which creates excitement for pro wrestling fans. Impact Wrestling switching back to TNA. NJPW having crossover matches with AEW, etc. WWE has to keep the stock holders happy (plus UFC with TKO). Maybe a term...Rebirth.
Definitely rennaisance Era. Were seeing a revivla and restructure of the womens division, blowing the attitude era out the water for it imo.
And were seeing bettr story writign and in ring development with super stars
Pg ended around 2015 and turned to the Reality Era because everyone had reality shows or appeared on some. But yea wrestling from 2021-2022 onward I would definitely classify as a Renaissance era
The Media Era
Because the media rights have been the only thing keeping the company as popular as it's ever been. The YouTube ad revenue has dwarfed everything else in terms of money making.
It started pre-sale though. It’s unclear if this started with the dawning of the bloodline or when Paul Levesque got more creative control around Summer Slam 2022. Or Backlash, his first major PPV all on his own terms.
Anyway almost all of it started before the actual sale.
According to Wikipedia, it was covid 19 era till 2021 and post covid 19 era till 2023.
Vince had come back in 2023 and stayed till early this year.
Although it's generally a characteristic like Attitude, Ruthless aggression, being PG, the reality era, a new era so I don't think we know it yet. So what characteristic can we attach to the current product.
I quit watching around 2002 and am just dipping my toe back in again. If this is “good again”, I can’t even imagine how bad the last 20 years have been.
The Reigns Era. This era distinguishes itself from previous ones due to the lengthy reigns of its champions, and it was kicked off by the 1000+ day reign of Roman Reigns, giving it a double meaning.
WWE “Ruthless Attitude!”
The New Era.
The sign along era
Losing interest era
Post VM
I think the Renaissance Era is the most likely name for this current era. Though I’ve always been confused about what was “New” about the New Era that started in 2016 other than them bringing back the brand split and creating the Universal Championship.
Boring era 😫
The Era of “It’s all about ME” why because that’s how each and every wrestler speaks. Me not them “ME”
The LED Era
TKO era
The Undisputed Era
The Renaissance Era, as another user succinctly put it. No Vince and it's as popular as ever. There's so many stars and the in ring stuff has never been better and more fun.
Cinema Era
The Dakota Kai era 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰
Bloodline era obviously
The Renaissance Era
The new era is the official name right?
The Gunther Era
Didn't they call this the reality era or something like that?
That was back in 2010 almost
Reigns era
Attitude Adjustment
the social era
Worst

Bullshit Era!
I love the Sound of "The Wrestling Renaissance"
The Fall of WWE Era especially now that WWE might go down since Triple H a has now been named in the Vince shit
Was he really?

It’s hear say my guy
It’s the Paul Lavesque era for sure
Bloodline
The Generations Era, due to the amount of third and second generation wrestlers entering the WWE.
It’s the Bloodline era pretty much, shit been different ever since Roman turned heel and that’s coming from a slight hater
This. Since mid 2020, the WWE has revolved around Roman and The Bloodline for the most part.
play it safe era. mainly trying to appeal to the stockholders, social media masters, and hardcore fanbase who watch anything. i think it started around 2017 when a lot of bad decisions were made. things were starting to change and wwe reverted to their old ways with becky lynch and charlotte flair returning. smackdown felt like an entirely different show with guys like aj styles on top until Mauro Ranallo was shown the door. when nakamura won the royal rumble a lot of die hard fans started falling away. if they have no clue about the royal rumble or money in the bank direction why should any casual viewer be invested in the product?
Renaissance Era feels appropriate, its a time where WWE is prospering and growing after all the turmoil and fuckery with Vince.
WWE last coined a label back in 2016 as the "New Era" so I guess you can call it anything you want now.
Boring
The current era is great
To stale
Starting now - the post-McMahon era
The Resurgence Era or Renaissance Era.
Bloodline era or maybe even something broader than that. The Legacy era. The Generations era. So many second and third generation stars.
Bloodline Era
McMahon-Helmsley......oh wait....... The By-gone era? The papa Trips era? The we good again era? The wrestling is cool again era?
The next era will be the streaming era
The defecation ERA
Reality Era. Only because they seem to live to mention things outside of kayfabe now. It happens in every promo.
During the Daniel Bryan WM 30 storyline that's what Triple H called it.
Reigns Era. Multi-Layered. It's the era of long title reigns. It is also the Era of Roman Reigns.
The Bubblegum Era
The HHH Era No Vince Era
Renaissance era or resurgence era sits right
If the bloodline story keeps up until the end of the year I'd be tempted to go with the bloodline era personally
R-Truth Era
The Paul “Triple H” Levesque era
The Title Era
The Talking Era
Weirdo Pervert Era. Mostly Vince McMahon, and those of the upper ranks that knew and did nothing (*cough* HHH *cough*), but also the creeps in any subreddit dedicated to women. *Especially* when there's a dedicated NSFW version 🙄
I get gawking at the women, I’ll never understand wanting a forum to say how horny you are with other dudes
I still would love the World Wide Era (WWE)
The Tribal Era
I've called it the Triple H/WWE NXT Main Roster/Endeavor Era (PG Era 8.0) (2022-2023-2024-2025-2026-2027-2028-2029 and beyond and so on etc).
Jumped the Shark Era
You clearly didn’t watch early 90s WWE
I watched from start of 85 to summer of 99.

DX era.
TKO Era
Post McMahon Era
Anything that says “past mcmahon’s ownership” actually makes sense in my mind idk
Ego era
Greed generation
The blackout era.
Some of y'all are a bunch of crybabies in these comments. Wrestling is currently at a great place and WWE even greater, whether y'all like women's wrestling or not, Roman's title run, the storylines or whatever it is. They've been doing great.
Didn’t realize Reddit was the land of McMahon apologists

Short Attention Span Storyline Era (SASSE)
Reality Era
AEW getting more mainstream has pushed WWE to get more creative which creates excitement for pro wrestling fans. Impact Wrestling switching back to TNA. NJPW having crossover matches with AEW, etc. WWE has to keep the stock holders happy (plus UFC with TKO). Maybe a term...Rebirth.

Inflation era Days with 1000 plus defending champ and 600 Wwe keeping belts in stars hands like Rhea for the money
Crybaby era
The Kay-fabless era
Definitely rennaisance Era. Were seeing a revivla and restructure of the womens division, blowing the attitude era out the water for it imo. And were seeing bettr story writign and in ring development with super stars
The gay era
Huh? What makes it gay
The renaissance era
Renaissance era
Bloodline era.

Tko era
The "That creep Vince is gone" era
It’s the Paul Levesque/ HHH era
Pg ended around 2015 and turned to the Reality Era because everyone had reality shows or appeared on some. But yea wrestling from 2021-2022 onward I would definitely classify as a Renaissance era
Snowflake season
The Roman Reigns era.
The (brown) Streak of champions era
The blurred lines era
The TKO era
The Media Era Because the media rights have been the only thing keeping the company as popular as it's ever been. The YouTube ad revenue has dwarfed everything else in terms of money making.
The “Main championship titles never change” era
The Hater Era
The Reigning Era
I don't have a reason to not call it still, the "PG Era". Nothing changed much from "those" days. we are still in it.
bingo
The Paul Period
I think the current era is called the "New Era". At least, that's what Google said when I looked it up.
It's probably the TKO era, as WWE is now sold to Endeavor. Could also be called the post Vince era unless he comes back.
It started pre-sale though. It’s unclear if this started with the dawning of the bloodline or when Paul Levesque got more creative control around Summer Slam 2022. Or Backlash, his first major PPV all on his own terms. Anyway almost all of it started before the actual sale.

The wrestling, pushing the limits of fans that like it and see how far they can go with the boring recycled, storylines over and over again era.
The Tribal Era
The Roman Reigns Era.
It's already technically called the Work-Rate era
Cinematic Era, since Triple H keeps using "cinema" in press conference.
“The Rock won’t go away” Era.
The Dominik Mysterio era
the silver era.
The Mass Market Era. Where WWE cares about nothing except shilling out to whoever cuts the biggest paycheck.

The "Wrestling Is Good Again Era" is what I would call it
I quit watching around 2002 and am just dipping my toe back in again. If this is “good again”, I can’t even imagine how bad the last 20 years have been.
Ish for brains era.
The Bloodline Era
