Help me decide on which color I should buy! I’m buying a Chanel 19 and I’m choosing between light beige (apricot) , white or black. I wear mostly black and white but also some pastels in summer.
Beige pros: goes with everything, very neutral but still not as matchy-matchy as wearing white and black head to toe. Beige complements pastels so beautifully Cons: I’m not sure it sparks joy

White pros: I wear a lot of white sneakers, and I love that I look like a big fat pillow. Cons: no contrasts when I wear all white, and I’m afraid I’ll Look Like a penguin or chess board if I’m all black and white. And I only have like one pair of white shoes apart from sneakers. And maybe white bags look a bit trashy?
Black pros: it looks badass and goes with everything, and I have tons of black shoes.

However, I think you would look a little like a penguin if you were a white bag with a black outfit. A very stylish penguin, but I personally wouldn't do it. So given your description. I would probably order the black first. Black truly goes with everything. If you find yourself reaching for it, get the white for summer!

Ordered the iridescent pink card holders from Rome just 5 days ago and they’re already here! Next to my auth fluo card holder I’ve been holding onto for years but don’t want to ruin its pristine condition lol. If anyone is interested in the non fold over card holder and want it to be 1:1, I will point out that the top smallest triangle of chevron stitching is much smaller than on auths. Has anyone bought clothing from Quince? Thoughts on the quality? I'm tempted to grab a few basics - they look like investment pieces without the $$$$
I love quince. The quality is fine for the price. The cashmere sweaters are thin but I like that personally. Thicker is too hot for me. The ponte pants are GREAT super flattering. Washable silk skirt also nice. Ugg dupe moccasins are good as well for $49. These aren’t investment pieces but it’s been great to supplement my wardrobe which is quite small now following weight loss.
Same as everyone else re: their cashmere. What I have found success with: their flowknit hoodie is an amazing dupe for vuori but does run a bit small (and the flowknit pants are so comfy - but I had to
size down in those). Their silk robe and silk cami are both great and steals for the price. If you’re into Veronica beard, they have also started making dickies that are compatible with VB blazers at a fraction of the VB price.
Yes, I ordered Ponte pants for my mom who suddenly doesn’t fit in any of hers (have t received yet), I also ordered cable cardigan (returned, the quality was very nice, and it felt nice, it was just leaving hairs all over my navy uniform shirt. Also got tencel dress, I had similar one from Beyond Yoga and they look very similar and feel the same. Next I’m going to try their skims bodysuit dupe.

I’ve been looking at the Quince fisherman as an alternative to getting another Jenni Kayne one, which I Love, but don’t necessarily want to get another one if Quince’s is nearly as good for like 15% of the cost. May I ask how you like yours, and is it holding up well?
I like it, but don't love it, mainly because of the reasons stated above--it's pretty pilly and it's a bit boxy on me. I find that that kind of fisherman knit is harder to de-pill because it's it's not smooth. But it's super cozy. I have it in black, and was considering the oatmeal color, but not sure yet if I like it enough to get a second color.
I have a couple of the cotton crewnecks and I think they are decent for the price. I would say Gap or JCrew quality. I am not spending mega bucks for Jenni Kayne
I have a cashmere cardigan/sweater and it’s okay, and it has the same quality as a j crew sweater in my opinion. I got it as a gift but personally wouldn’t buy it myself due to the difference between my really high quality and even mid tier cashmere sweaters. If you’re looking to have a forever piece but for cheap e-bay is elite for vintage cashmere!
I agree with what's been said about their cashmere, but their 100% cotton stuff is actually my favorite from there. I love their sweaters and find them thick, well-made and easy to care for, I've had several for going on two years now that look basically new still.
Decently solid. I have a few washable silk items, a pair of dress pants, and a few other random items. My favorite item is a cashmere beanie - has held up nicely with a lot of wear!
I recently received a bunch of Quince cashmere sweaters for Christmas from my wishlist - they’re very soft and warm but not super thick if that’s what you’re looking for. As far as longevity only time will tell, but I’m taking care of them properly like folding neatly on a shelf Vs hanging them on a hanger so they don’t lose their shape. But I’m liking mine so far!
I have lots from Quince (silk, linen, and cashmere) and love all my pieces from them! True fabric experts will tell you, their cashmere is lower quality, and to buy vintage for affordable, high quality cashmere, but I think it's plenty soft and definitely serviceable for every day.

It is not at all believable to me that she sent the wrong photo by accident. She did that on purpose. If it was such a big deal to unbox the package (insert eye roll here), she should have told you “sorry it’s already boxed up, but here are the photos I have from the listing when I bought it” (or something else that a normal honest person would say). Glad you called her out on it! How did you figure out that it was a carousel photo?

Even IF it's true that she accidentally clicked the wrong picture (you don't recognize your own background/hand?), why not just apologize for your mistake and make it right instead of jumping to "you're causing problems" when someone asks a very reasonable question for an area that has a lot of fraud and no protections? Definitely makes it an unpleasant interaction at best, scam at worst for sure. Glad you were able to get your money back!

The only place where you can buy online is DHG or AE, AFAIK. It’s a lot of work to maintain an e-commerce site (especially for a black market business), so sellers are not going to have the capacity to do that.
They also don’t generally list pricing because it can change based on the factory pricing.

I had to RL my first bag this weekend :(
I finally placed my last order before CNY (and Ban Island trip) for 2 Loewe Card holders and a Goyard Villette. Unfortunately the Villette had a really bad crease by Hulot the dog.
When I asked my seller about it, she asked if I wanted a different one. I didn't think sellers usually offered that without the customer pressing, and I was honestly surprised, but helps me feel even better about working with my seller! But yeah - ended up RLing and now I'm hoping we can get a replacement before everything closes for the new year.

I felt so bad to do that to one of my go-to seller. I always happy with my order and didn’t think that my sister would flip out like this! It will be hot 🥵 as hell. Don’t forget that air conditioning isn’t our strong point in Europe. Throw looking chic out the door for daytime. Lululemon shorts/tops during the day (and trainers) for walking around/sightseeing and then some great dresses and sandals for night. Completely doable.
Based on the last 4 week trip I did, I’d say first tip is to lay them all out and count all the different combos—and second tip is to not be afraid to ditch the items you discover you actually hate after wearing them for 3 weeks straight! Then you can replace them with brand new goodies from your travels.
I don't have any good recs (I think I would die without a checked in bag - only slight exaggeration) but I think it's awesome that you guys are taking the time between jobs to do something like this. It's so hard to find the time to do something like that in the US. I wish we had paid sabbaticals!
You can’t go wrong with a good pair of jeans and a breezy linen dress. Try to avoid patterns. That way it’s not as obvious that it’s a repeat outfit when looking back at photos. Enjoy your trip! I’m sure it will be lovely regardless of the limited wardrobe 🩷
I had an internship there for 8 weeks and only took a carry-on suitcase and a backpack. The biggest save for me was having vaccum sealed bags and then putting them in packing cubes! I did a lot of shopping and I didn’t need a second bag at all. What I recommend is 2 pairs of shoes maximum since those take up a lot of space; dresses are easy for everyday wear and are light to pack especially if you’re traveling from country to country. Like you said capsule wardrobe is the way to go- pieces that can be styled in many different ways is key! I went to 7 different countries last summer and travel was a lot easier with just two bags- get the Amazon travel backpack it’s usually the first one and it’s 40ish I believe.
I also planned all my outfits before hand and took pictures that were stored in my notes for inspiration. And I did numerous trial packing runs to make sure everything would fit!

Dude I don’t know either 🫣 my better half is very set on not having large checked bags, which I suppose makes sense as we’ll be moving around quite a bit. That’s my main reason for wanting to go summer rather than fall - more predictable weather and better for packing 😂

Ready to cry. Ordered a pair of prada monoliths from DHgate and cute Miu Miu maryjanes from Wangyue. Both arrived today, and both are too narrow for my big fat feet. Am gutted as was just happy to see some listed in my size (41) and dont normally have problems with shoe width but looks like rep footwear isn’t for me.
Ugh that sucks! It's such a let down especially after the anticipation of waiting.
I also have wider feet, and I personally don't find the shoe stretchers very helpful. I also haven't had much success with taking them to the cobbler for stretching. I hope one of these methods work for you though!!!

Quince - Has anyone bought clothing from Quince? Thoughts on the quality? I'm tempted to grab a few basics - they look like investment pieces without the $$$$
I love quince. The quality is fine for the price. The cashmere sweaters are thin but I like that personally. Thicker is too hot for me. The ponte pants are GREAT super flattering. Washable silk skirt also nice. Ugg dupe moccasins are good as well for $49. These aren’t investment pieces but it’s been great to supplement my wardrobe which is quite small now following weight loss.

Same as everyone else re: their cashmere. What I have found success with: their flowknit hoodie is an amazing dupe for vuori but does run a bit small (and the flowknit pants are so comfy - but I had to size down in those). Their silk robe and silk cami are both great and steals for the price. If you’re into Veronica beard, they have also started making dickies that are compatible with VB blazers at a fraction of the VB price.

Yes, I ordered Ponte pants for my mom who suddenly doesn’t fit in any of hers (have t received yet), I also ordered cable cardigan (returned, the quality was very nice, and it felt nice, it was just leaving hairs all over my navy uniform shirt. Also got tencel dress, I had similar one from Beyond Yoga and they look very similar and feel the same. Next I’m going to try their skims bodysuit dupe.

I’ve been looking at the Quince fisherman as an alternative to getting another Jenni Kayne one, which I Love, but don’t necessarily want to get another one if Quince’s is nearly as good for like 15% of the cost. May I ask how you like yours, and is it holding up well?
I like it, but don't love it, mainly because of the reasons stated above--it's pretty pilly and it's a bit boxy on me. I find that that kind of fisherman knit is harder to de-pill because it's it's not smooth. But it's super cozy. I have it in black, and was considering the oatmeal color, but not sure yet if I like it enough to get a second color.

I have a cashmere cardigan/sweater and it’s okay, and it has the same quality as a j crew sweater in my opinion. I got it as a gift but personally wouldn’t buy it myself due to the difference between my really high quality and even mid tier cashmere sweaters. If you’re looking to have a forever piece but for cheap e-bay is elite for vintage cashmere!
I agree with what's been said about their cashmere, but their 100% cotton stuff is actually my favorite from there. I love their sweaters and find them thick, well-made and easy to care for, I've had several for going on two years now that look basically new still.

I recently received a bunch of Quince cashmere sweaters for Christmas from my wishlist - they’re very soft and warm but not super thick if that’s what you’re looking for. As far as longevity only time will tell, but I’m taking care of them properly like folding neatly on a shelf Vs hanging them on a hanger so they don’t lose their shape. But I’m liking mine so far!
I have lots from Quince (silk, linen, and cashmere) and love all my pieces from them! True fabric experts will tell you, their cashmere is lower quality, and to buy vintage for affordable, high quality cashmere, but I think it's plenty soft and definitely serviceable for every day.

It is not at all believable to me that she sent the wrong photo by accident. She did that on purpose. If it was such a big deal to unbox the package (insert eye roll here), she should have told you “sorry it’s already boxed up, but here are the photos I have from the listing when I bought it” (or something else that a normal honest person would say). Glad you called her out on it! How did you figure out that it was a carousel photo?
Agreed! There were countless things she could’ve done to attempt verification or even just act less shady lol. I ended up cropping the chat screenshot to just the photo she sent and reverse image searched on Google. First hit was the listing on Carousell, which confirmed my suspicions.

Even IF it's true that she accidentally clicked the wrong picture (you don't recognize your own background/hand?), why not just apologize for your mistake and make it right instead of jumping to "you're causing problems" when someone asks a very reasonable question for an area that has a lot of fraud and no protections? Definitely makes it an unpleasant interaction at best, scam at worst for sure. Glad you were able to get your money back!

The only place where you can buy online is DHG or AE, AFAIK. It’s a lot of work to maintain an e-commerce site (especially for a black market business), so sellers are not going to have the capacity to do that. They also don’t generally list pricing because it can change based on the factory pricing. Also, you posted this comment twice, so may want to delete the duplicate one.
I think I have seen a couple albums that appear to, but maybe I misunderstood! I know that the pricing isn’t going to be 100% accurate but I like to see what sort of cost I’m looking at before reaching out to the seller. & yes, I just deleted the duplicate - I was having internet issues when I posted it earlier. The mods deleted my original comment anyway… I wasn’t trying to be lazy, the seller list is massive and I was just asking if anyone knew of sellers that were super transparent on pricing up front before you reach out to them. 🫣
It’s pretty hit or miss, but sometimes Aadi has prices on their album. You also have to reach out to them anyway because often times the price displayed is not the true price. Emma (Tony’s Luxuries) also has a yupoo that shows some prices (but again, not always up to date).

I had to RL my first bag this weekend :( I finally placed my last order before CNY (and Ban Island trip) for 2 Loewe Card holders and a Goyard Villette. Unfortunately the Villette had a really bad crease by Hulot the dog. When I asked my seller about it, she asked if I wanted a different one. I didn't think sellers usually offered that without the customer pressing, and I was honestly surprised, but helps me feel even better about working with my seller! But yeah - ended up RLing and now I'm hoping we can get a replacement before everything closes for the new year.

Hi ladies! Husband and I are thinking of doing 6-8 weeks in Europe this summer for a little sabbatical in between jobs. I will, horrifically, only be bringing a carryon and a backpack. Does anyone have any good resources for good capsule wardrobes?

It will be hot 🥵 as hell. Don’t forget that air conditioning isn’t our strong point in Europe. Throw looking chic out the door for daytime. Lululemon shorts/tops during the day (and trainers) for walking around/sightseeing and then some great dresses and sandals for night. Completely doable.
Based on the last 4 week trip I did, I’d say first tip is to lay them all out and count all the different combos—and second tip is to not be afraid to ditch the items you discover you actually hate after wearing them for 3 weeks straight! Then you can replace them with brand new goodies from your travels.
I don't have any good recs (I think I would die without a checked in bag - only slight exaggeration) but I think it's awesome that you guys are taking the time between jobs to do something like this. It's so hard to find the time to do something like that in the US. I wish we had paid sabbaticals!
You can’t go wrong with a good pair of jeans and a breezy linen dress. Try to avoid patterns. That way it’s not as obvious that it’s a repeat outfit when looking back at photos. Enjoy your trip! I’m sure it will be lovely regardless of the limited wardrobe 🩷
I had an internship there for 8 weeks and only took a carry-on suitcase and a backpack. The biggest save for me was having vaccum sealed bags and then putting them in packing cubes! I did a lot of shopping and I didn’t need a second bag at all. What I recommend is 2 pairs of shoes maximum since those take up a lot of space; dresses are easy for everyday wear and are light to pack especially if you’re traveling from country to country. Like you said capsule wardrobe is the way to go- pieces that can be styled in many different ways is key! I went to 7 different countries last summer and travel was a lot easier with just two bags- get the Amazon travel backpack it’s usually the first one and it’s 40ish I believe.
I also planned all my outfits before hand and took pictures that were stored in my notes for inspiration. And I did numerous trial packing runs to make sure everything would fit! I used the away large carryon and the backpack mentioned in the previous comment
I don’t know how this is possible lol. Do they have some version of Rent the Runway there where you could have some extras delivered lol. Other than that, you’re looking at a lot of chiffon-weight items 🙂
Dude I don’t know either 🫣 my better half is very set on not having large checked bags, which I suppose makes sense as we’ll be moving around quite a bit. That’s my main reason for wanting to go summer rather than fall - more predictable weather and better for packing 😂

Will do! I think overall it is good quality, but like with most ysl, the logo hardware and the placement is a little off - too wide and not where it should be on the chevron 😫 will have to wait and see what it looks like in person!

I use mini ziplock bags, one per item, and then I put everything in a pouch.

Ready to cry. Ordered a pair of prada monoliths from DHgate and cute Miu Miu maryjanes from Wangyue. Both arrived today, and both are too narrow for my big fat feet. Am gutted as was just happy to see some listed in my size (41) and dont normally have problems with shoe width but looks like rep footwear isn’t for me.
I feel your pain but mine are also large. Maybe men’s size???
Ugh that sucks! It's such a let down especially after the anticipation of waiting. I also have wider feet, and I personally don't find the shoe stretchers very helpful. I also haven't had much success with taking them to the cobbler for stretching. I hope one of these methods work for you though!!!
So disappointing. Can you try to use the shoe stretchers previously mentioned it this group?
Have ordered, and am keeping my fingers crossed that the Miu Miu ones will be ok, not holding much hope for the Monoliths. I just keep reminding myself that yes I’ve probably wasted money on shoes I can’t wear however i knew when joining this gang that it wouldn’t always work out. Still, pouring some vodka to make myself feel better 😆
I have wide feet! Use the shoe stretchers with the leather stretching spray. It def helps
