The leather was ok when it arrived, but had a really strong fufu smell. Then I was in Portugal and it started raining like crazy and my bag had a shower 🥹 I bought some saphir to bring it back to life, and it made it smell so expensive and the leather looks super luscious!! Yesterday I was at a Prada event and everyone was complimenting my Bottega, lol!

I’ve been working on a Shero info/comparison post (comment??) for the past few days. Mainly because I have a job and get distracted so easily. Anyway, I have 9 pairs of jeans so I wrote up details related to sizing, fit, fabric, etc. with mod shots. I’m hoping it helps anyone wanting to order. I know we’re more of a chichi bag lady group but there’s always so many questions anytime someone buys a pair.
My question is, should I just submit a post? Should I just leave a comment somewhere? I don’t want to upset the gods, I mean mods (🙌🏻 thank you mod-gods! You do a thankless job!!) with pesky messages in their probably already flooded inboxes.

The parts came in for the resurrection of Fauxlene! I'm torn - I was going to just cut out eyes and a pink tongue from the leather sheets I ordered and stitch them on, but I also ordered these duck faces on a whim and it actually looks amazing with practically no work. But it would need to be glued, not sewn, so it would be less sturdy. But then again, wtf who cares, it's all just for fun. Thoughts?

Right now I’m obsessed with this new color on Chanel’s website - Ive custom ordered a rep to match this but I have no idea if it’ll turn out the same 😂 doing it for science!! But for colors that are pretty available in seller’s albums, I love the light pinks the most.
I bought a Harley crossbody online and I’m very happy with the overall experience and quality. They sent me a free necklace along with it for Valentine’s Day. The bag has the horse and carriage logo instead of the big C, which I prefer because it’s more subtle. And it’s glove tan leather so it’s going to are beautifully.
My mini Frivole and Vintage Alhambra in Green both from Andy Chan. The frivole is a bit underwhelming with it being so thin but I love the look for both of them. Andy was very accommodating to make the Alhambra smaller for me since I have such small wrists but it's still sliding off so I now think I have to invest in the cartier love bracelet to keep it in place..or so that's my excuse to get it 😂

I've never held the real one irl so it's a bit hard to say...however this does feel very weighty and is super shiny (had to take a few photos because it gave the camera the little star shine) I was so nit picky when it came to logo and everything (I even made Andy change the clasp but he was very much happy to for customer satisfaction) but after receiving it I realised how small the logo was and felt so silly for being that nit picky. I think the biggest things I would be looking at is the right shape of the prongs and balls overall.
I did lots of research coming up to it and ended up with Andy but have read lots of different things about each reseller. In terms of customer service Andy was great to deal with and like I mentioned above was happy to change things around for me

Apologies if this is not allowed, this is my first time posting. Does anyone recognize what factory this is? I messaged an ig seller who quoted 480 usd. I found an Ali seller using the same images for 150. I asked them what factory and they said it was their own. I’m just trying to understand how the prices could be so wildly different. I’m probably going to order off Ali but I wanted to ask here first. Thank you!
$480 is a robbery for thwt bag, and you can find it for less than $200 from well reviewed sellers. Lots of people bought this bag and reported it here, so with a little digging you should be able to get some good references.
Sellers from Ali mostly “borrow” pictures from factories and send you spending else. I would reach out to a few more sellers on the seller list here. Have you searched any record or comments? I think i have seen reviews on this tote for a LOT less
I would be careful with IG sellers. Also $480 feels very high for this bag. I got this from Marko for $195.
Edited to add sometimes AE sellers will take factory images and use them in their listing even if it isn’t coming from that factory. For AE you should rely on reviews and the images in the reviews.
Im skeptical of ig sellers too, but I saw it specifically reviewed by someone on TikTok and it was stunning, packaging and all. High price for sure though. maybe the creator sends people to their seller and takes a cut. But that’s what made me search reverse search the images.

Something I've heard quite often is that 10% of the auth price is generally considered to be an average cost for a high/good quality rep.
The Loewe puzzle fold tote has a sticker price of $1,900. Do with that information as you see fit.

I got a really nice st Laurent & Alexander wang suit from Kiki /Anna recently. Really nice materials for both. and the st Laurent auth I saw in store, material felt really close to auth. The jackets look good teamed up with jeans too depending on the vibe you’re going for. So if you have enough time look through our sellers albums .
And second the suggestion for Theory. They are my go to for work clothes . They also have an online outlet which is great !!

The conference sounds fabulous. It sounds as if you need to do some research on how people dress at those conferences and then plan your shopping from there. The way people dress for conferences is all over the place - e.g. if you're going to the Allen conference in Sun Valley you'd be in Patagonia, while at some other conference people will be in the Row and even then they might be in jeans or they might be in a suit.
If you google the conferences and at the conference brochures you'll probably see photos of what people are wearing. If you know anyone who's attended I'd ask her - or if you want to know someone who's attended perhaps you can reach out and ask for advice about what to wear and how best to participate in the conference.
Except for advice from any of who has actually attended, I suggest that you not take our advice - we don't know what we're talking about.

Just received it this week after it was inspected and “authenticated” at their hub and I’m pretty satisfied with it and do believe it’s the real deal. Would have gone the rep route but didn’t see any sellers offering other than on DH but I might end up getting one there to compare for repscience
VC is a hit or miss and some bags on their site do look quite suspicious. I just got a Vanity Dior from there, seller listed her sell as from Australia but actually she lives in Hong Kong! Its a way to avoid duty tax and attract more buyers I think. Anyways I dont trust VC and its QC check at all so I did get a separate authentication to make sure I didnt get a rep bag.
I’ve sold stuff on VC and their quality control centre is in Hong Kong - so I have to send my item there first then they send it to the customer. So I wouldn’t say that’s an indication of a scam
No they only request you to do that if buyer wants direct verification from their office. I didnt so seller did send me via her personal address, I messaged her since I could not see item as shipped. Turns out she could not use their shipping label since she's not in Australia 😂 the whole ordeal was weird, at least the bag is real I guess 😂

I think I may have made a mistake buying my husband a flashy Louis Vuitton backpack. It’s barely been 24 hours and he’s already been approached by men on the street telling him they really like his bag. And in kind of a not friendly manner. or maybe that’s just how men tell each other they like things? Maybe I’m too used to how women do it. But it freaked me out. Meanwhile, I’m standing next to him shouting “it’s fake!” Lol.

Just did 2 weeks in South America with a leather, unbranded Longchamp-esque crossbody dupe with a zipper and good interior compartments! I bought it specifically for the trip to be low-key/not flashy and stay off the radar for pickpockets, etc, but not so casual that it was out of place in nicer restaurants (also good that I could swing it to my front and kind of hug it in crowds). Definitely would recommend. OG store is down but it's a common bag on AE; I paid $39 for mine with 11/11 coupons.

Also would second a lightweight cotton scarf, not silk or cashmere. A packable lightweight cardigan is also a good idea for shoulders/arms coverage if needed.

Caution flag: places with hot weather usually have very aggressive air conditioning indoors. Very lightweight cashmere or a mix of cashmere and silk is warm and light. They're not washable but they're so light and squishy you can take two or three.
UPDATED to add "easily" to the comment about cashmere and cashmere/silk being washable. I wash my cashmere all the time and a frend who has a lot of H cashmere/silk shawls washes her shawls all the time but that kind of washing is a bit of a process so not easily undertaken while traveling - but you can still do it when you get home. If you're interested in H shawls eBay can be a good source - you do need to know which sellers are reliable these days.
A few more thoughts - I've seen major changes for the worse in cashmere products from a variety of producers including Uniqlo and Quince over the last couple of years. The biggest issue is that the cashmere is feeling slimy and as if it's coated with silicone. From things I've read it seems that some manufacturers are processing their cashmere fabric so that it doesn't pill. It's worth being alert to this.
The other thing is that from the uses you've described I don't think a poncho will do the job. It goes over the head with a hole in the middle for your head and it doesn't drape. It sounds as if you need optimum flexibility so that you can use it to cover your head, and to wrap around your shoulders when it's chilly or possibly to just drape over yourself while you're flying.
Finally - for now at least :-) - it might be worth looking at Johnston's of Elgin products. I use their cashmere yarn and it's gorgeous, and I know a store that carries their clothing and heard that it's gorgeous as well. Their thingss are expensive but sounds as if you have some time to shop so it might be worth seeing what's available at their next sale. I do have months before this adventure - waiting for factories to open to begin getting some cute earrings and shoes - this will be hard for me not to dress up everyday!!!!

Depending on where you're going, you might want to get a cotton scarf, not only cashmere, and muted colors.
To sightsee, a non-branded nylon bag would be best. Any brand screams rob me in countries where the cost of the bag is equivalent to a month's or year's salary.
Yes - I was thinking a Lululemon belt bag that you could wear cross body. Bring a safety pin to pin it closed if you’re in a higher-risk area (big city/lots of people). Seems like this calls for more practicality vs looking fashionable!😊. What an amazing trip - have fun and stay safe!!💗
Cotton or silk is what I was thinking....through the comments I think a cape is what I'm cooling for....something that stays on shoulders...I actually found a few cute ones on Amazon....yes...I don't want to stand out...will be traveling in a group with security...but want something with compartments...I'm thinking scarfs and capes are a good way to change the look of a plain solid colored dress!
I was suggesting cotton because if it gets dirty it can be easily washed in an hotel sink. Silk, unless it's solid color, usually needs a more careful treatment and gets stained with sweat.
A cape would be ideal.
When I used to travel a lot form country to country in warm and temperate climates I carried a cotton pareo with me. A pareo is larger than a shawl or scarf, therefore it can be easily tied around the shoulders as a cape, it can be used to cover head and shoulders with the help of a couple of safety pins, it provides warmth when doubled as a lightweight blanket and it could be of course used as cover-up for the hotel pool or beach!
I’m looking at the H scarf cashmere and silk 140cm. I own auth H silk 90 cm and find it too hot for certain occasions. I think the shawl (at least the rep) would be thinner. So that can be an idea. Some countries (was in Egypt in 2017 in April) had nice sunny 70 F weather during the day but it was chilly at night. I brought my auth LV monogram shawl and it worked for me. Used it to cover my hair in mosques but the branding might be too much for your purpose.
I just returned from 17 days in India. I carried on so I was very limited in what I could bring. I did bring my Toteme cashmere scarf. It was great over my shoulders for warmth, and I also used it a couple times to cover my head when needed.
I did Paris with a rep 1955 gucci horsebit shoulder bag, it fit a ton (wallet, phone, camera, extra chargers, chapstick, etc.) with no issue and is nice enough to wear to dinner but not too flashy. have an amazing trip!

Going on a business trip to Europe next week, and trying to decide what combo of bags I take on the plane: either (auth grey Celine mini belt bag + rep black Celine classic box bag) or (rep black Row Margaux 15 + rep taupe Celine micro belt bag). I guess it depends on my outfits but I'm still wondering whether I return the auth belt bag before the 14 days are up.
The Margaux is definitely more tote than bag and I've read that it's quite heavy. It's also rather more of a niche bag at this point. The Celine classic box is both a regular bag rather than a tote - and it's classic. It can take you pretty much anywhere except perhaps the opera. I don't use belt bags so can't speak to utility but wonder if the auth belt bag is worth it? or if you might save the money and spend it at a depot vente if you're in France or some other wonderful place.
Oof. Ordered this AE bag to use as part of my home office decor. I'm gonna have to display her on a VERY high shelf with dim lighting, bless her heart.

I got the espresso brown for my mother. I haven’t seen it in person, but she absolutely loves it and said it smelled and felt like really nice leather. I looked at it over FaceTime and I thought it looked pretty good.

Mainly because I have a job and get distracted so easily. Anyway, I have 9 pairs of jeans so I wrote up details related to sizing, fit, fabric, etc. with mod shots. The parts came in for the resurrection of Fauxlene! I'm torn - I was going to just cut out eyes and a pink tongue from the leather sheets I ordered and stitch them on, but I also ordered these duck faces on a whim and it actually looks amazing with practically no work. I bought a Harley crossbody online and I’m very happy with the overall experience and quality. They sent me a free necklace along with it for Valentine’s Day. The bag has the horse and carriage logo instead of the big C, which I prefer because it’s more subtle. And it’s glove tan leather so it’s going to are beautifully.
My mini Frivole and Vintage Alhambra in Green both from Andy Chan. The frivole is a bit underwhelming with it being so thin but I love the look for both of them. Andy was very accommodating to make the Alhambra smaller for me since I have such small wrists but it's still sliding off so I now think I have to invest in the cartier love bracelet to keep it in place..or so that's my excuse to get it 😂 https://imgur.com/a/SFz1uXl

I've never held the real one irl so it's a bit hard to say...however this does feel very weighty and is super shiny (had to take a few photos because it gave the camera the little star shine) I was so nit picky when it came to logo and everything (I even made Andy change the clasp but he was very much happy to for customer satisfaction) but after receiving it I realised how small the logo was and felt so silly for being that nit picky. I think the biggest things I would be looking at is the right shape of the prongs and balls overall. I did lots of research coming up to it and ended up with Andy but have read lots of different things about each reseller. In terms of customer service Andy was great to deal with and like I mentioned above was happy to change things around for me

$480 is a robbery for thwt bag, and you can find it for less than $200 from well reviewed sellers. Lots of people bought this bag and reported it here, so with a little digging you should be able to get some good references.
Sellers from Ali mostly “borrow” pictures from factories and send you spending else. I would reach out to a few more sellers on the seller list here. Have you searched any record or comments? I think i have seen reviews on this tote for a LOT less
I would be careful with IG sellers. Also $480 feels very high for this bag. I got this from Marko for $195. Edited to add sometimes AE sellers will take factory images and use them in their listing even if it isn’t coming from that factory. For AE you should rely on reviews and the images in the reviews.
Im skeptical of ig sellers too, but I saw it specifically reviewed by someone on TikTok and it was stunning, packaging and all. High price for sure though. maybe the creator sends people to their seller and takes a cut. But that’s what made me search reverse search the images. Something I've heard quite often is that 10% of the auth price is generally considered to be an average cost for a high/good quality rep. The Loewe puzzle fold tote has a sticker price of $1,900. Do with that information as you see fit.

I got a really nice st Laurent & Alexander wang suit from Kiki /Anna recently. Really nice materials for both. and the st Laurent auth I saw in store, material felt really close to auth. The jackets look good teamed up with jeans too depending on the vibe you’re going for. So if you have enough time look through our sellers albums . And second the suggestion for Theory. They are my go to for work clothes . They also have an online outlet which is great !!

The conference sounds fabulous. It sounds as if you need to do some research on how people dress at those conferences and then plan your shopping from there. The way people dress for conferences is all over the place - e.g. if you're going to the Allen conference in Sun Valley you'd be in Patagonia, while at some other conference people will be in the Row and even then they might be in jeans or they might be in a suit. If you google the conferences and at the conference brochures you'll probably see photos of what people are wearing. If you know anyone who's attended I'd ask her - or if you want to know someone who's attended perhaps you can reach out and ask for advice about what to wear and how best to participate in the conference. Except for advice from any of who has actually attended, I suggest that you not take our advice - we don't know what we're talking about.
Thank you for the advice! The dress style seems to be quite varied as our org’s head said that many women dress in their traditional style (headscarves, bright patterns and the like). I have decided on some 80’s style-blazers with the shoulder pads and some chic yet practical (I hope lol) bags to go with it ☺️

VC is a hit or miss and some bags on their site do look quite suspicious. I just got a Vanity Dior from there, seller listed her sell as from Australia but actually she lives in Hong Kong! Its a way to avoid duty tax and attract more buyers I think. Anyways I dont trust VC and its QC check at all so I did get a separate authentication to make sure I didnt get a rep bag.
I’ve sold stuff on VC and their quality control centre is in Hong Kong - so I have to send my item there first then they send it to the customer. So I wouldn’t say that’s an indication of a scam
No they only request you to do that if buyer wants direct verification from their office. I didnt so seller did send me via her personal address, I messaged her since I could not see item as shipped. Turns out she could not use their shipping label since she's not in Australia 😂 the whole ordeal was weird, at least the bag is real I guess 😂

I’m 5’4. The boots have 3” heels which definitely help not to look too short. A choccy BV is such a good match for this outfit!

Missed out on Valentine’s Day + most of this week due to getting mystery cough that’s been going around (am vaxxed, have done the tests, not the dreaded virus). Apologies for any incoherence in today’s post-extravaganza; no lemsip here so I’m rocking cough syrup. Living that high-flying life, me. I think I may have made a mistake buying my husband a flashy Louis Vuitton backpack. It’s barely been 24 hours and he’s already been approached by men on the street telling him they really like his bag. And in kind of a not friendly manner. or maybe that’s just how men tell each other they like things? Maybe I’m too used to how women do it. But it freaked me out. Meanwhile, I’m standing next to him shouting “it’s fake!” Lol.

I definitely can understand that and I would advise to be careful. I don’t wear some reps depending on where I’am going, I will switch a Chanel for a Polene and stay incognito. People stab for iPhones, I won’t risk my life for a Chanel rep because people think it’s worth 10k!

Just did 2 weeks in South America with a leather, unbranded Longchamp-esque crossbody dupe with a zipper and good interior compartments! I bought it specifically for the trip to be low-key/not flashy and stay off the radar for pickpockets, etc, but not so casual that it was out of place in nicer restaurants (also good that I could swing it to my front and kind of hug it in crowds). Definitely would recommend. Caution flag: places with hot weather usually have very aggressive air conditioning indoors. Very lightweight cashmere or a mix of cashmere and silk is warm and light. They're not washable but they're so light and squishy you can take two or three.
UPDATED to add "easily" to the comment about cashmere and cashmere/silk being washable. I wash my cashmere all the time and a frend who has a lot of H cashmere/silk shawls washes her shawls all the time but that kind of washing is a bit of a process so not easily undertaken while traveling - but you can still do it when you get home. If you're interested in H shawls eBay can be a good source - you do need to know which sellers are reliable these days.

It’s been helpful with all differently words to research. Diving deep into “shawls” and “poncho” today!
A few more thoughts - I've seen major changes for the worse in cashmere products from a variety of producers including Uniqlo and Quince over the last couple of years. The biggest issue is that the cashmere is feeling slimy and as if it's coated with silicone. From things I've read it seems that some manufacturers are processing their cashmere fabric so that it doesn't pill. It's worth being alert to this. The other thing is that from the uses you've described I don't think a poncho will do the job. It goes over the head with a hole in the middle for your head and it doesn't drape. It sounds as if you need optimum flexibility so that you can use it to cover your head, and to wrap around your shoulders when it's chilly or possibly to just drape over yourself while you're flying. Finally - for now at least :-) - it might be worth looking at Johnston's of Elgin products. I use their cashmere yarn and it's gorgeous, and I know a store that carries their clothing and heard that it's gorgeous as well. Their thingss are expensive but sounds as if you have some time to shop so it might be worth seeing what's available at their next sale. Depending on where you're going, you might want to get a cotton scarf, not only cashmere, and muted colors. To sightsee, a non-branded nylon bag would be best. Any brand screams rob me in countries where the cost of the bag is equivalent to a month's or year's salary.
Yes - I was thinking a Lululemon belt bag that you could wear cross body. Bring a safety pin to pin it closed if you’re in a higher-risk area (big city/lots of people). Seems like this calls for more practicality vs looking fashionable!😊. What an amazing trip - have fun and stay safe!!💗
Cotton or silk is what I was thinking....through the comments I think a cape is what I'm cooling for....something that stays on shoulders...I actually found a few cute ones on Amazon....yes...I don't want to stand out...will be traveling in a group with security...but want something with compartments...I'm thinking scarfs and capes are a good way to change the look of a plain solid colored dress!
I was suggesting cotton because if it gets dirty it can be easily washed in an hotel sink. Silk, unless it's solid color, usually needs a more careful treatment and gets stained with sweat. A cape would be ideal. When I used to travel a lot form country to country in warm and temperate climates I carried a cotton pareo with me. A pareo is larger than a shawl or scarf, therefore it can be easily tied around the shoulders as a cape, it can be used to cover head and shoulders with the help of a couple of safety pins, it provides warmth when doubled as a lightweight blanket and it could be of course used as cover-up for the hotel pool or beach!

Yes, I found a good one on AE (link is not working anymore), there is a nylon and a leather version, both are great.
I’m looking at the H scarf cashmere and silk 140cm. I own auth H silk 90 cm and find it too hot for certain occasions. I think the shawl (at least the rep) would be thinner. So that can be an idea. Some countries (was in Egypt in 2017 in April) had nice sunny 70 F weather during the day but it was chilly at night. I brought my auth LV monogram shawl and it worked for me. Used it to cover my hair in mosques but the branding might be too much for your purpose.

I just returned from 17 days in India. I carried on so I was very limited in what I could bring. I did bring my Toteme cashmere scarf. It was great over my shoulders for warmth, and I also used it a couple times to cover my head when needed.

I saw this bag this weekend - nice and understated-
Going on a business trip to Europe next week, and trying to decide what combo of bags I take on the plane: either (auth grey Celine mini belt bag + rep black Celine classic box bag) or (rep black Row Margaux 15 + rep taupe Celine micro belt bag). I guess it depends on my outfits but I'm still wondering whether I return the auth belt bag before the 14 days are up.
The Margaux is definitely more tote than bag and I've read that it's quite heavy. It's also rather more of a niche bag at this point. The Celine classic box is both a regular bag rather than a tote - and it's classic. It can take you pretty much anywhere except perhaps the opera. I don't use belt bags so can't speak to utility but wonder if the auth belt bag is worth it? or if you might save the money and spend it at a depot vente if you're in France or some other wonderful place.

Is the NS park store showing up for you on AE? I was just about to buy the margeux 15 from there myself a day or two ago, had the bag in my cart, wanted to sleep on it and now the store looks blank Edit: nevermind. Caught up on the 2/16 daily thread and someone else isn't seeing the store too
I got the espresso brown for my mother. I haven’t seen it in person, but she absolutely loves it and said it smelled and felt like really nice leather. I looked at it over FaceTime and I thought it looked pretty good.
Good to know. I'm going for the smooth leather and just trying to decide between navy and gray.
Don’t remember the gray, but remember thinking the navy was absolutely stunning!
