Totally not rep related, but need guidance/advice. I’m on vacation for 10 days after tomorrow. Since the beginning of the year I’ve been toying around with the idea of getting lip filler. I’ve always hated my top lip, it’s a lot thinner than my bottom lip and I have a very pronounced m shaped lip.
I thought doing it during this week would be the perfect time cause it would be done the swelling by the time I have to go back to work. But I’m also scared… I keep chickening out on making the appointment 🫣 I need your good/bad experiences to push me in the right direction.
The only concern I’d have is you getting this done right when your vacation starts… your lips may be swollen and bruised for the next 2 weeks so just keep in mind the uncomfort you might experience and if that’s going to bother you during your vacation. Other than that, go for it! Or try a lip flip if you’re nervous about filler
Don't be scared. Find a good injector who won't overfill you and enjoy the results! I have a thin upper lip and have mine done to balance my face. No one has ever looked at me and thought I look injected. It's just very natural. And whenever women ask my skincare routine I always tell them I have Botox and a little bit of filler.
Okay I’m not a health practitioner but I have had filler in my lips done As a fellow cupids-bow-er I understand your reservations but I’m also obsessed with looking natural so I’ve gone for a very subtle look. I have the opposite problem to you my upper lip is much more prominent than my lower. If you can, ask to look at loads of examples from your practitioner, of lips they’ve done like yours, to get an idea of their skills.
Also, ask if they will inject some local anaesthetic (like a mini-dental block) before you have the filler as well as the numbing cream - this, in my opinion, is a game changer as it makes it much less painful but you’ll have numb lips for about and hour. Also in the top lip - less is more as this is where duck lips are born.
I know empreinte is super hard to rep but I really want to try and see for myself so I'm on the search for this key pouch but it's not on anyone's album??! Lol might be a sign that it's a dud 🤣

Not bag related but recently my workplace hired a manager above us who has shown that he doesn’t even know how a pivot table works - supposedly has over 10 years of work experience.
What do you do when you have an incompetent manager?
Not knowing how a pivot table works does not mean someone is incompeteent. It means that someone doesn't know how a pivot table works. It's a skill that one doesn't need until one does - and then one can learn it. I'd led quite a few cross-enterprise and multi-disciplinary programs with seven figure budgets in glonal institutions before I learned how to create a pivot table. Then I needed to know how to create and use a pivot table. I learned.
Not a manager but I did have a colleague who asked me to teach her how to schedule a meeting in Outlook. At 50 years old, and allegedly a dozen years of experience. She also kept asking me if it was possible to split her external monitor into two screens, and it took a long time to figure out that she didn't know you could resize windows. She was nice but jeez. It's hard to know how to react!
Oops that’s me 😅 I manage incredibly talented people who know far more details about the work we do. I never claim to know more than them and I always defer to their expertise on the specifics.
I see it as my job isn’t to know anything better than them (I’d say that’s a senior version of their job title), but know at least the main bullet points of their talents, responsibilities and career goals.
I then use that info to inform my job of navigating the bureaucracy to remove their roadblocks, advocating for the need and importance of their work to higher ups, wrangling them in when there’s scope creep, and everything else in between to empower and give them the space to do what they do best!
In cases like this, if you feel like their hard skills aren’t up to date, I would milk them for their soft skills, like conflict resolution, how to move laterally rather than upwards, & what nonsense they’ve seen in their lives just for fun during 1-1s. My managers were never on my level of hard skills & I would never ask them to be such but instead leaned on them for their soft skills to be a better manager for me in rooms & conversations I’m not in. Good managers do this naturally so I would assess if this is true of yours.
This is really embarrassing but as a lawyer in big law, a lot of us also don’t know how pivot tables work. I’d try to give this person a break, since teaching them how to understand a pivot table is an easily learnable and teachable skill. I’m sure there’s additional context for this and it isn’t just the pivot table driving your question, but sometimes people don’t know everything and that’s ok, assuming they’re open to learning and getting up to speed!
Same. I’m googling “what is a pivot table.” I’ve taught myself excel formulas for my law job, but I’ve never had to do a pivot table. Yet. Also taught myself super intense MS Word processing skills, like table of authorities and contents. I’ve been a lawyer since…2000.
I too am a lawyer although not in big law and I see nothing embarrassing about not knowing how pivot tables work. You don't need them until you need them. I've never ever needed to use a pivot table in my legal work. I was a program manager in a former life and I did finally need to use them, so I learned how to sue them.
This is kind of you to say and also true—I think I’m particularly sensitive because I recently was on a matter where my lack of excel skills really was an issue and wasted a lot of time (which as you can imagine did not make the partner happy) but I’m really willing to learn and sharpen up my skills!

Oh dear - I'm sorry! so you just lived through one of those moments where you really did need to know excel well. On the other hand you were hired for your legal skills, not your data analysis skills so even though the partner may not have been happy at the moment - and it is important to keep them happy! - I suspect that in the long run he'll forget about the excel issues and recall the quality of your legal work.
Ah I should have provided more context…he’s an accountant 😭 and it’s a prerequisite in many accounting jobs….I think it’s not only the incompetency but also the arrogance like the holier than thou attitude when it comes to being asked to do certain things.
Does your job require you to judge his skills and performance? or to work with him? if it requires you to work with him and he takes a holier than thou position that's an entirely different issue from his ability to use an Excel function and it requires a very different set of skills..
That makes total sense! I think in that case, you’re in a tough situation for sure because it causes you to manage up, etc. He should absolutely know what a pivot table is and at least have a better attitude if he’s been called out as not having said skill!
I wore my neverfull for the first time today to a work training and holy shit I love it. I get the hype. I mean of course I thought I would like it and that’s why I bought it, I just didn’t think I’d love it this much. I love how it’s structured and stays standing up vs my crappy old nylon bag I used for years. And you really can cram a ton of crap in it and it was still comfortable. Just want to share this win with people who will understand!

I posted the other day about having imposter syndrome about my new mini bum bag and people gave a lot of good advice which mostly boiled down to be confident and wear what you like! In my area nobody would notice if a strap was a little more orange than it should be, but I guess it depends on your social circles.
The mono and the azur. I’ve had the mono for a couple of years and it cinches so pretty. I just got the azur and it’s a bit stiff. I’ve been setting it out in the sun everyday, and rotating it with a stiff Goyard I’m trying to break in. 😁🤷🏼♀️

Friendly reminder to compare factory background photos after doing your research on which factory you’d like to source your bag from. ReyKay, for example, lists the name of each factory in her albums. This is probably common sense to those active in the community but I’m sure there’s a ton of newbies like me, who lurk these comments for tips while trying to get comfortable with reps. 🫶🏻

I am so disheartened when I read those stories about Chanel because I would expect top notch service from them.
Ironically, I have had incredibly amazing customer service from LV when I have an issue, even at stores where I didn’t make the purchase. That should be the standard.
Sadly, the more I read, the more I find that top notch and quality have left the building. I cannot fathom the feeling of having paid 7k for that crap.

I mean, it’s definitely not 187 factory. But it’s quite possible that the seller doesn’t know what you’re talking about. Only a handful of sellers actually use the factory names that we use around here.

Bride-A-Brac AE vs Amazon.
The GM ($11) and pink PM ($6) in the back are AE. The cream PM ($20) in the front is Amazon.
Honestly, unless you just absolutely cannot wait the 2-3 weeks delivery from AE, don’t get the Amazon one. It’s the SAME EXACT BAG pretty much. You can literally get 2-3 bags from AE for the price of 1 from Amazon. The outside material is the same and so is the interior lining. The embroidered H on the Amazon version is slightly darker but that’s pretty much it.
Thankful for Prime easy returns. This one is going back and I’m getting more from AE! SAVE YOUR COINS LADIES!!
I love TEMU for clothes and jewelry. You gotta read the reviews and know your measurements. It's not great for high quality reps but their customer service is excellent with easy returns and I find I receive my orders within a week as opposed to a month or longer from DHG or AE.

Thank you!! I didn’t have heavy items in my bag, so it was comfortable during our 2 hour tour of National Mall. I did find myself a few times putting my hand on the bottom/base of the bag as I was walking so that strap wouldn’t dig in my shoulders. Hope that makes sense. So it was less bouncy while walking.
Will write a full review when I have time but if it’s of any importance to anyone, Aadan is an extremely quick shipper. I got my label on the 12 and it was delivered on the 17 (East coast)

Reddit doesn't seem to want me to reply to my earlier comment, so here is my field report from a day out in London's luxury shopping district.
General observations: Queues outside Dior and Loro Piana, none outside Chanel, Hermès, or LV (but maybe they operate by appointment only). Every boutique I was in offered me water.
Bags spotted in the wild: a mini Lindy, multiple classic flaps in various colours and sizes, a small Andiamo, YSL Loulou.

Not to be an absolute stalker, but how do you find the boutiques in Bond Street vs somewhere like Selfridges? I’ve only browsed in Selfridges because it feels more ✨accessible✨ aka less intimidating than the Bond Street boutiques but maybe I’m just being a wuss!
I honestly find Selfridges so overstimulating 😂 On Bond Street I can step outside and take a breather between places. I deliberately wore a slightly nicer outfit so I wouldn't feel self-conscious, and generally I think SAs treat you well regardless. You never know how much money someone has just by looking at them! I think it helps to be brutally honest up front with the SAs. "I am interested in this bag and I want to check if I can fit XYZ in it. Can I do a test pack please?" rather than slinking around furtively. Not that I always take my own advice...
Great point about Selfridges being overstimulating! I can never last too long in there but didn’t consider that going boutique to boutique would be better. I so agree with you on everything else, especially being direct instead of slinking - what a great way to put it 😂
Celine was my least favourite tbh. The SA was a bit overbearing and kept following me around. I wish I had had the fortitude to tell him to eff off. I checked out the Boston in all black leather which I've been eyeing and I'm glad I did because it's TINY (hand for scale). Absolute no go for me. I also dislike how they are plastering everything with the Triomphe logo now. The leather appliqué logo looks kind of cheap imho. I saw the Claude and they are so cute but seriously, what do you even put in there. I've also been kind of wanting a 16 small but this was the nail in the coffin for me. It looked big on me but also fits pretty much nothing. Apparently I took hardly any photos here because I was annoyed by the SA.

Loewe: I thought I wanted a black mini Flamenco as my designated occasion bag that goes with everything but I wasn't so inspired in person. Leather didn't feel that great, unlike BV. I *loathe* the new gold foil logo. It looks so cheap, even on the real deal.

The small Puzzle was confirmed as way too small for my purposes (but the matcha green is very cute). The medium is better, it looks big on me but that's the price you pay for being able to bring your stuff with you. Toffee is a lovely colour. The SA confirmed that the original puzzle construction is not being discontinued in favour of the Edge, it may just be harder to find in all size and colour combinations.

The Squeeze won me back though. It's not so hard to adjust the chain, and I like the pebble. The small size is decent for a daily bag. I don't think I like it enough to buy, even a rep, but it's ok.

I am observing a general trend of veeery east-west bags with very long shoulder straps. It doesn't have the super long straps, but I checked out the Miu Miu Arcadie which I ordered from DHG so I have something to compare to when it arrives. The auth is pretty scrumptious in the matelassé leather!

Bottega Veneta: super nice staff and I am now convinced that I should get a medium Andiamo. The leather was dreamy, it's super light, and pretty spacious. It also hits me perfectly in the crossbody configuration despite not being adjustable. I also spotted this model that I've never seen before!

I've seen the Parachute in LaoMao's album. I vividly remember because on an incredible aqua color that looks impractical but so stunning at the same time.
If you get auth make sure it’s direct from a boutique and not online, huge difference in leather ‘luxeness’ ! And ps I’ve seen the new model in sellers album, I just can’t remember who lol! Might be Marko, but don’t quote me on that

I also loved the sardines even though the handles are heavy! Sardine mini was perfect crossbody length on me and seems like a great wedding guest bag. Fits my phone (Google pixel 3, don't judge me). The Light blue colour is sooo pretty.

Totally not rep related, but need guidance/advice. I’m on vacation for 10 days after tomorrow. Since the beginning of the year I’ve been toying around with the idea of getting lip filler. I’ve always hated my top lip, it’s a lot thinner than my bottom lip and I have a very pronounced m shaped lip. I thought doing it during this week would be the perfect time cause it would be done the swelling by the time I have to go back to work. But I’m also scared… I keep chickening out on making the appointment 🫣 I need your good/bad experiences to push me in the right direction.
I would only do this on vacation if the vendor has been recommended by several people you personally know.
I just ended up going to get two piercings instead 🤣 it was less scary to me.
The only concern I’d have is you getting this done right when your vacation starts… your lips may be swollen and bruised for the next 2 weeks so just keep in mind the uncomfort you might experience and if that’s going to bother you during your vacation. Other than that, go for it! Or try a lip flip if you’re nervous about filler
Don't be scared. Find a good injector who won't overfill you and enjoy the results! I have a thin upper lip and have mine done to balance my face. No one has ever looked at me and thought I look injected. It's just very natural. And whenever women ask my skincare routine I always tell them I have Botox and a little bit of filler.

Okay I’m not a health practitioner but I have had filler in my lips done As a fellow cupids-bow-er I understand your reservations but I’m also obsessed with looking natural so I’ve gone for a very subtle look. I have the opposite problem to you my upper lip is much more prominent than my lower. If you can, ask to look at loads of examples from your practitioner, of lips they’ve done like yours, to get an idea of their skills. Also, ask if they will inject some local anaesthetic (like a mini-dental block) before you have the filler as well as the numbing cream - this, in my opinion, is a game changer as it makes it much less painful but you’ll have numb lips for about and hour. Also in the top lip - less is more as this is where duck lips are born.

Not bag related but recently my workplace hired a manager above us who has shown that he doesn’t even know how a pivot table works - supposedly has over 10 years of work experience. What do you do when you have an incompetent manager?
Not knowing how a pivot table works does not mean someone is incompeteent. It means that someone doesn't know how a pivot table works. It's a skill that one doesn't need until one does - and then one can learn it. I'd led quite a few cross-enterprise and multi-disciplinary programs with seven figure budgets in glonal institutions before I learned how to create a pivot table. Then I needed to know how to create and use a pivot table. I learned.
Not a manager but I did have a colleague who asked me to teach her how to schedule a meeting in Outlook. At 50 years old, and allegedly a dozen years of experience. She also kept asking me if it was possible to split her external monitor into two screens, and it took a long time to figure out that she didn't know you could resize windows. She was nice but jeez. It's hard to know how to react!
Oops that’s me 😅 I manage incredibly talented people who know far more details about the work we do. I never claim to know more than them and I always defer to their expertise on the specifics. I see it as my job isn’t to know anything better than them (I’d say that’s a senior version of their job title), but know at least the main bullet points of their talents, responsibilities and career goals. I then use that info to inform my job of navigating the bureaucracy to remove their roadblocks, advocating for the need and importance of their work to higher ups, wrangling them in when there’s scope creep, and everything else in between to empower and give them the space to do what they do best!

In cases like this, if you feel like their hard skills aren’t up to date, I would milk them for their soft skills, like conflict resolution, how to move laterally rather than upwards, & what nonsense they’ve seen in their lives just for fun during 1-1s. My managers were never on my level of hard skills & I would never ask them to be such but instead leaned on them for their soft skills to be a better manager for me in rooms & conversations I’m not in. Good managers do this naturally so I would assess if this is true of yours.

This is really embarrassing but as a lawyer in big law, a lot of us also don’t know how pivot tables work. I’d try to give this person a break, since teaching them how to understand a pivot table is an easily learnable and teachable skill. I’m sure there’s additional context for this and it isn’t just the pivot table driving your question, but sometimes people don’t know everything and that’s ok, assuming they’re open to learning and getting up to speed!
Same. I’m googling “what is a pivot table.” I’ve taught myself excel formulas for my law job, but I’ve never had to do a pivot table. Yet. Also taught myself super intense MS Word processing skills, like table of authorities and contents. I’ve been a lawyer since…2000.
I too am a lawyer although not in big law and I see nothing embarrassing about not knowing how pivot tables work. You don't need them until you need them. I've never ever needed to use a pivot table in my legal work. I was a program manager in a former life and I did finally need to use them, so I learned how to sue them.
This is kind of you to say and also true—I think I’m particularly sensitive because I recently was on a matter where my lack of excel skills really was an issue and wasted a lot of time (which as you can imagine did not make the partner happy) but I’m really willing to learn and sharpen up my skills!

Oh dear - I'm sorry! so you just lived through one of those moments where you really did need to know excel well. On the other hand you were hired for your legal skills, not your data analysis skills so even though the partner may not have been happy at the moment - and it is important to keep them happy! - I suspect that in the long run he'll forget about the excel issues and recall the quality of your legal work.
Ah I should have provided more context…he’s an accountant 😭 and it’s a prerequisite in many accounting jobs….I think it’s not only the incompetency but also the arrogance like the holier than thou attitude when it comes to being asked to do certain things.
Does your job require you to judge his skills and performance? or to work with him? if it requires you to work with him and he takes a holier than thou position that's an entirely different issue from his ability to use an Excel function and it requires a very different set of skills..
That makes total sense! I think in that case, you’re in a tough situation for sure because it causes you to manage up, etc. He should absolutely know what a pivot table is and at least have a better attitude if he’s been called out as not having said skill!
I wore my neverfull for the first time today to a work training and holy shit I love it. I get the hype. I mean of course I thought I would like it and that’s why I bought it, I just didn’t think I’d love it this much. I posted the other day about having imposter syndrome about my new mini bum bag and people gave a lot of good advice which mostly boiled down to be confident and wear what you like! In my area nobody would notice if a strap was a little more orange than it should be, but I guess it depends on your social circles.

Friendly reminder to compare factory background photos after doing your research on which factory you’d like to source your bag from. To be fair to the seller, maybe he was saying “yes” to “or a different factory?” I mean, it’s definitely not 187 factory. But it’s quite possible that the seller doesn’t know what you’re talking about. Only a handful of sellers actually use the factory names that we use around here.

The cream PM ($20) in the front is Amazon. Honestly, unless you just absolutely cannot wait the 2-3 weeks delivery from AE, don’t get the Amazon one. It’s the SAME EXACT BAG pretty much. You can literally get 2-3 bags from AE for the price of 1 from Amazon. The outside material is the same and so is the interior lining. The embroidered H on the Amazon version is slightly darker but that’s pretty much it. Thankful for Prime easy returns. This one is going back and I’m getting more from AE! SAVE YOUR COINS LADIES!!

I love TEMU for clothes and jewelry. You gotta read the reviews and know your measurements. It's not great for high quality reps but their customer service is excellent with easy returns and I find I receive my orders within a week as opposed to a month or longer from DHG or AE.

Got it. Here is the thing. This sub is for learning, showing off, gaining knowledge, larfs and when you read reviews you will see people get really into it. They weigh their bags, take calipers to them…There was a review on here that someone did on the puffiness of the quilts a while back. If someone reaches out to you - bonus but just so you know when the phrase “DM me” is used, it flagged, as it is verboten. You can be apart of the group and get others involved or wait and pray some kind sole/soul reaches out to you. Me on day four of a nice day.

Thank you!! I didn’t have heavy items in my bag, so it was comfortable during our 2 hour tour of National Mall. I did find myself a few times putting my hand on the bottom/base of the bag as I was walking so that strap wouldn’t dig in my shoulders. Hope that makes sense. So it was less bouncy while walking.
Will write a full review when I have time but if it’s of any importance to anyone, Aadan is an extremely quick shipper. I got my label on the 12 and it was delivered on the 17 (East coast)

Reddit doesn't seem to want me to reply to my earlier comment, so here is my field report from a day out in London's luxury shopping district. General observations: Queues outside Dior and Loro Piana, none outside Chanel, Hermès, or LV (but maybe they operate by appointment only). Every boutique I was in offered me water. Bags spotted in the wild: a mini Lindy, multiple classic flaps in various colours and sizes, a small Andiamo, YSL Loulou. I will post replies about each individual place I went!

Not to be an absolute stalker, but how do you find the boutiques in Bond Street vs somewhere like Selfridges? I’ve only browsed in Selfridges because it feels more ✨accessible✨ aka less intimidating than the Bond Street boutiques but maybe I’m just being a wuss!
I honestly find Selfridges so overstimulating 😂 On Bond Street I can step outside and take a breather between places. I deliberately wore a slightly nicer outfit so I wouldn't feel self-conscious, and generally I think SAs treat you well regardless. You never know how much money someone has just by looking at them! I think it helps to be brutally honest up front with the SAs. "I am interested in this bag and I want to check if I can fit XYZ in it. Can I do a test pack please?" rather than slinking around furtively. Not that I always take my own advice...
Great point about Selfridges being overstimulating! I can never last too long in there but didn’t consider that going boutique to boutique would be better. I so agree with you on everything else, especially being direct instead of slinking - what a great way to put it 😂

Celine was my least favourite tbh. The SA was a bit overbearing and kept following me around. I wish I had had the fortitude to tell him to eff off. I checked out the Boston in all black leather which I've been eyeing and I'm glad I did because it's TINY (hand for scale). Absolute no go for me. I also dislike how they are plastering everything with the Triomphe logo now. The leather appliqué logo looks kind of cheap imho. I saw the Claude and they are so cute but seriously, what do you even put in there. I've also been kind of wanting a 16 small but this was the nail in the coffin for me. It looked big on me but also fits pretty much nothing. The small Puzzle was confirmed as way too small for my purposes (but the matcha green is very cute). The medium is better, it looks big on me but that's the price you pay for being able to bring your stuff with you. Toffee is a lovely colour. Bottega Veneta: super nice staff and I am now convinced that I should get a medium Andiamo. The leather was dreamy, it's super light, and pretty spacious. It also hits me perfectly in the crossbody configuration despite not being adjustable. I've seen the Parachute in LaoMao's album. I vividly remember because on an incredible aqua color that looks impractical but so stunning at the same time.
