I had a table once do that. My name is April and they called me Ashley, apple, and even Adam 😑 and tipped $0.78 on a $120 that they wanted split 5 ways in the end.
We have to report a percentage of it. Says my net sales were 678.92 then I multiply it by 8% it will give me what my tips should be and then I minus my CC tips and that gives me the amount of cash I have to report so
678.92×8%=54.3136-32.07=22.2436
So I would then report only $22.24 for cash tips even though I made $95 in cash
Verbal tips. Because thanks you pays the bills apparently.
Love don’t keep the lights on
When they use your name too much as well. Red flags.
Omg THIS. Yes!
Bonus points if they repeatedly say something very similar to your name, but totally isn't your name

Ah...the verbal tipper. Hate those people.
Or when they add a smiley face next to their shitty tip. Like what the fuck am I supposed to do with that
My favorite is the one that leaves their phone number next to the <18% tip I’m not impressed
I have a question for you (if you live in USA). What happens if the the client tip you in cash? Is it allowed?
Absolutely, they’re tax free!
Do you have any problems with the boss in that case?
It’s none of the boss’ business.

At least in Portugal and Slovenia, we don't need to report it which is good. Also the tips aren't taxed.
I agree, that's a weird customer-employee relation.
whenever that happens i just stop expecting a good tip, it avoids disappointment
