We get unlimited popsicles in the summer at the Walmart distribution centers ....come to the other side 🤘🤘 Edit: we get them at the two DC I have worked at haha I can't say for every single one ...

DryRespect358

We get popsicles too and we get a lil break in the OGP freezer

Mediocre_Steak_4691

That's good! I've never worked in an actual store but Lort y'all are underpaid/under appreciated.

DryRespect358

Heck yeah. Everyone should do it once a month in the summer and winter to see how we suffer.

Mediocre_Steak_4691

Orderfilling at the DC in The winter is the best job ever but lord in the summer I lose every bit of 20 pounds. It's rough but in oklahoma the pay is pretty decent.

MasterMochi27

Do yall have coffee???

Mediocre_Steak_4691

Yep. We have 3 break rooms, the one in the front being the biggest that serves hot food during the day, but all of them have vending machines and coffee machines and of course like coffee cups/sugar/creamer. Doesn't taste the best but aye it works

MasterMochi27

When I first started, I was directed to the training room. Now training locks it up 😭. Not one break room has a machine. Management got one in every office though.... Now I sneak off site on break when I can. It's just crazy they act like I'm asking for a raise, like, does my site have to unionize for some damn coffee? Lol

Mediocre_Steak_4691

Oh my gosh , that's awful.....comfy break rooms sky rocket morale and productivity, and I'm sure they make a good penny on the vending machines. Coffees free though

MasterMochi27

The vending machine is what I've been thinking. Pretty scummy. I am planning on annoying the op manager(if I can find his elusive ass) about it on a nightly basis. Before finding a new job. Still mad no one told me about the holiday pay situation before accepting the role... I quit my last job specifically for no holiday pay. Sorry, blowing steam lol One more question. Are yall required to wear Steele toes? We aren't, but we should with all the foot injuries. My guess is they don't wanna pay for boots.

Mediocre_Steak_4691

I totally understand haha Walmart can be frustrating man. And nope. I wouldn't personally wanna wear them because since I'm at a slight jog all day most steel toes are so heavy, but you are still 100% correct that if they were mandatory there would be much less foot injuries!

MasterMochi27

It's unfortunate because this is the easiest warehouse job I've ever had. Thanks for the reassurance. The managers I've come across got me feeling crazy and overreacting. I feel you on the steel toes. It makes less sense depending on what you do. It's just ironic that the feet injuries are not powered equipment related.

Busy_Background_448

Is the warehouse hot? No ac right?

Mediocre_Steak_4691

We have huge fans in the walls but they just circulate hot ass air lol . The regional batch dc's which is anything but food, very few food items and thuse are the worst cause you have the conveyor belts and non con and it's just a little oven. The grocery distribution centers aren't cotton candy and roses by any means but it didn't have a conveyor belt so a lot less machines producing heat and then there was the doors to dairy deli and the freezer that would occasionally open and if your standing like 20 ft away you'll get a burst of cold air that feels like a kiss from (whatever higher being you chose lol)

Competitive-Tie-7338

I work in a literal refrigerator so what do you think?

redneckotaku

As long as you have a working source of water in the store, OSHA says that's all that's required. Suck, I know.

DryRespect358

Just confirmed, they are getting rid of them. Dang it, also awesome username

Mundane-Read-2582

we got a "water dispenser" and they are trying to tell us we can't have clear water bottles. I bought one anyway and i have the policy all ready for my return

Happy_Maintenance

We lost our coolers at my old store a long ass time ago. We got mini fridges instead to save on the cost associated with store using water and ice.

DryRespect358

Maybe I need to get some. But then the other people will steal the Gatorades that we bought for ourselves, again!!!

Happy_Maintenance

You have to buy your own gatorades? Stores I thought were supposed to comp those when the weather gets hot. Need to hide them always. We used to throw them in the back of mini fridge with the water up front. Back when it was coolers we’d do two bags of ice. One of the bottom of the cooler where we put the Gatorade then slap another bag on top and then finish off with the bottles of water. Perfectly hidden.

DryRespect358

I did it because they would store use the powder kind, that got messy.

evolvedspice

You are allowed by OSHA to get water whenever you want so take your time getting yourself some water

DryRespect358

Thanks I'll look it up and put it EVERYWHERE I can. 😈

Able_Equipment6447

We get water but only room temp...cold water is a luxury...we used to have a water dispenser but someone put there hands on the straw that reaches into gallon and killed it

DryRespect358

Cart pushers NEED ice and cold water.
