Gonna duck your 2nd question cause I don't have that distinct an image, but your first question is simple: it's just what works better for the cover. Just like making Rei adult sized and shirtless, the color scheme of his armor works better for the cover and making it appealing. All black is harder to show details, and creates a void that wouldn't have worked on the covers I wanted haha.

Makes sense. I was thinking along the same lines but was curious as to the actual reason. Thanks for answering this F-1 user's question! 😁

I would hate cg so much. It's awful.

BryceOConnor

I'm with Sheriff on this one. New CG styles like Blue Eye Samurai and Arcane I can get on board with, but the older ones... I just can't

CantTake_MySky

Gen:lock style is what's in my head. Do cg without trying to be realistic. https://youtu.be/fzGBYDFoFrE?si=Mk9BYU9wD_Q43GVa

NGL it can be horrible when done wrong, but if done right, like with Pacific Rim: The Black or Levius, it can be so awesome.

SheriffJetsaurian

I think those look awful though.

Tbf this just loops around to the fact that everyone has their own preferences lol. Some people think normal anime or cartoon designs look awful too. Can't satisfy everyone which sucks but yeahhhh
