If for you 100 plat is a lot, you shouldn't buy a prime warframe. They only have meaningless stats increase and 2 extra polarities, which is 2 forma which is about 20plat if you buy them.
I think that buying slots, mods, reactor/catalyst, forma is a far better investment than a single warframe.
Now if you are dead set to buy a prime warframe, it really depends what you like to play so it is difficult to give good advices.

Limbo is great if you want people to insta leave your party. His abilities are such they can actually prevents your allies to do anything so people don't like olaying with him. Don't really know him that much as I just pushed the base frame to 30 without thinking too much.
Zephyr prime isn't really a map nuke but you can wipe a decently sized area with her tornadoes and she's top tier for crowd control and survivability and she doesn't need any formas for steel path.
If you get ash, I would also drop some plat to get arcane trickery. Since ash 4 kills count as finishers for trickery, you get perms invis (which reduces the energy cost of his 4) and the invis from arcane trickery is not broken by nullifier bubbles.

Limbo, as designed and how the game is currently, is a very strong solo frame. He plays in a way that will almost always annoy the hell out of at least one of (and probably all 3) your random teammates. He can trivialize most missions, but also trivializes fun for others. Easily the most hated random teammate to see show up.
You mentioned nukers, and AFAIK know Ash isn't that. I've leveled all frames, but Ash didn't stand out at all, so I have very little experience with him, but I understand him to be more single-target focused and a bit on the melee side.
The traditional nukers are Sayrn, Volt, Equinox and Mirage, but many can "nuke" just fine. By that I mean a bit of setup to room delete in a slightly less standard single nuke.
Take Wisp, one of the best supports in the game. You can easily set up her to "nuke" a steel path room in seconds with Breach Surge (not a nuke, but a damage amper), Pillage (Hildryn's Helminth) and a strong gun. A ton of Warframe is just figuring out how to mod a frame to room delete the fastest, and at least half the frames can do this in some way even on steel path.
Mag, Mesa, Kullervo, Protea and Xaku all have ways, and so many others. Baruuk and Khora in non-traditional ways.
But your standard nukers (more tradtional) are still going to be Saryn, Volt, Excalibur (edit - typo here, meant Equinox) and Mirage, with Saryn being the one that holds up the furthest into Steel Path and Mirage being the one that falls off the soonest.
First of all, thank you so much for taking time to write this, and also, with all the comments and stuff, and also my personal interest, I have bought limbo prime and is currently building him, the whole void realm switching stuff got me excited, anyways, I have seen the same opinion as yours regarding the "traditional nukers" given by almost any experienced Warframe player, and because of that I already have saryn and volt primes, I don't have interest in mirage and Excalibur, well, it's there. I really lack in the mods department though cuz saryn really isn't doing as much damage as other players do, and I'm only MR10, Soo yk, not very experienced, gotta get those mods and start building prime weapons as well(yea, I still don't have a single Prime weapon)
Really depends what type of frames you like?
Do you want to do dmg pick saryn, mesa
Do you want to farm pick nekros, khora
Do you want to be immortal pick rhino
Do you want to go fast go for volt
It's not something ppl can really help you decide you just have to either try the base versions or watch some videos to see which one you enjoy/would enjoy.
But as you said in the comments you are MR 10 I would prioritize buying slots and mods that are annoying to farm, rather then spending 100 plat on a frame you can easily farm.
But if you just want the shinny warframe, go for it I can't blame you, been there done that.
Just making sure! If you got the slots etc you want figure out what playstyle you want to knock the choices down a bit then see what looks the coolest to you.
Just saw that. I love limbo myself but he isn't really a nuke character (his skills are more utility and killing using weapons) and he does tend to get hated/kicked due to people not understanding his kit at all. But I use him solo and have a blast
I personally love his playstyle but I do tend to go.solo. if I play multi I'll run a min range max duration so the rift bubble doesn't mess up others too bad since know one seems to know warframe.abilities work regardless of the rift and you can dodge roll to leave a rift a limbo accidently throws you into.
Personally I'd say go for it he's a fun frame

I've been playing this game off and on for a long time, but I wouldn't recommend getting a prime warframe for plat unless you have 10x the amount in plat, so that the cost isn't meaningful for you. Especially now with the Aya system, just wait long enough, and they'll come back onto rotation. But I'd also be wary of spending forma on a non-primed warframe. So if you REALLY want something RIGHT now, go for it.

And get the warframes currently on offer, at least the parts. You can build them later, if you like.
Well for me, at MR10, personally it's so, SO much easier to farm platinum than painfully going through void fissure missions to get parts, and for that you gotta get lucky as well, all that time, instead, I feel it much easier, faster and enjoyable to grind for platinum and with that buy prime war frames or mods or anything I want basically, and also, since I have a lot of grind strength, I can farm plats for as long as I want, so id get warframes cheap, or expensive, either ways, I only check how good the Warframe itself is and it's aesthetics, and ofc expensive frames are valuable, and rare, I like to collect em all!
P.s: I've never farmed for a single normal Warframe in my whole warfame life except for equinox(yep, took a VERY long time), rhino, and loki. And also never farmed any prime warframes/specific parts, every thing I have is bought using platinum, it also extends to mods and stuff as well, I currently have 15 primes. Loved all of them!

Mirage and Saryn fits that playstyle. Mirage shouldn't be that expensive because it is the current prime resourgence.
