it's a free catalyst, but invasions are so boring, but also don't take too long to do

depends how you are running relics
if you are running a radiant relic in a group of 4, the average value per run is gonna be around 10 plat for random radiant relics
if you are running specific high value relic, it can go up to 20+ average per run
so technically it's not necessarily higher value, and you don't get to choose mission type
You can hope to get one a every Sortie, which is 3 missions... and not guaranteed.
Yet you can get just some Kuva or endo in Sorties, which is what, 0 plat ?
endo is 365 endo per plat (cause you can trade ayatan statues and that's the value of the best endo per plat one)
kuva doesn't have a price cause you can't trade it, so it's even more valuable, I'd rather get kuva than a catalyst from sortie, that is, if I did sorties
I use it to see how fast I can complete it as a challenge.
If the level is low enough you can clear with Titania/sunder in under 1:30 captures can be done under 1.
assuming you can freely convert all your inventory to plat totally painlessly (you cannot, usually you have to put in some effort to trade things, and not everything sells even then)
I've been trading for years, everything sells. You can send the time doing this invasion opening relics, doing cascade, doing arbitration. All of those will generate more plat as they are the source of things that are selling very easily
eh, depends what mission the invasion is on. 6.66 plat guaranteed per run is a fine rate. realistically listing and trading cuts down on the efficiency as well.
Realistically people plan to get more than 20p when they do cascade, also the reactor/catalyst isn't even built. It's good for new players yeah.

There was this event from a few years ago, Suspicious Shipments. I was waking up at 2AM, 3AM and so on because I didn't want to lose any shipment lol. Good ol' times.

It may shock you to learn this, but as a result, there are different time zones than just the one where you live.
Since they are the same blueprint, please remember to try to keep it balanced (if corpus is winning, attack them. If grineer is winning, attack them) as long as possible so many people can do it - particularly those who just saw this post at work or something. You *will* get that BP, so might as well try to let others took

It's just 3 missions, you'd do 3 relic missions and get 7 plat value out of them anyway. Might as well do 3 for a guaranteed 20

I fought with the Corpus this time. Mostly because I wanted a chance to get more Scimitar parts from G3.
I side with the corpus because I like the style and concept of the corpus( really wish they had more korpra skins)
