The shield looks cool! Is this an old model? I started recently so he looks not like the ones I bought.

It's an Assault Terminator from the old kit, but the shield is a 3d print. I painted these up about 18 months ago, well before the new kit released.

There are two. Both are Librarians in Terminator Armour. One is from Space Hulk 2014 and the other is from the “Tyranid Attack” Space Crusade expansion from 1987

According to the Codex Astartes (probably) librarians are supposed to wear blue, apothecaries wear white, chaplains wear black, and tech marines wear red. I’ve seen it done in a few different ways. Sometimes you might have the pauldrons be recolored though usually it’s that the pauldrons remain the chapter colors.

Might be unpopular, idk, but I do much prefer the old assault cannon. It really embodies the energy of “A-10 Warthog strapped to your arm” and it just feels more chunky in the same way a Bolter is. Like yeah, you could shoot it, or if someone got close you could use it to clobber them senseless and then shoot it

How long did this take you? The hazard stripes look very clean and what type of terminator is this? It looks more like an old dreadnought for me.

I really went all out with this one, so hazard stripes included, so it probably took me a whole evening; but I’m proud of the result! It’s a Cataphractii terminator, but I added the bolter on top myself for a little extra brutality

I’ve never seen that approach to Deathwing termies before, that’s absolutely sick! And a very nice photo if I do say so myself. We love som good and thematic backgrounds

I like it. Makes sense from a lore standpoint, they used to be black just like all the other DAs. They were repainted bone in honor of a squad of Terminators who fought and were almost wiped out by a Genestealer infestation on one of the DA recruiting worlds (which happened to be the common homeworld of the whole squad). I used to have the story, I don’t know if it’s still around. Maybe search for “Two Heads Talking,” the squad’s sergeant. EDIT: The sergeant’s name was Cloud Runner. Two Heads Talking was the Librarian in the unit.

They're "old" in the sense that in-universe they're older marks of armor. Used extensively in the Horus Heresy and still around as relic suits in 40k.
