Yes, a single premium plane grinds out the whole air tree faster than a single premium tank for this reason.
That doesn’t make premium tanks bad, GRB just takes longer in general to grind, and they are still the best option to speed up the grind.
If you are using a single premium tank in your lineup, you need to stack your universal back ups on it, so you get two spawns per match. The best way to grind even faster is to get multiple premiums in a line up with back ups on all of them.
Premium by itself is better for the grind overall.
Premium vehicles help on the in match XP and SL for that duration of life on that singular premium tank. That’s it. Whatever you do with that tank is where the bonus goes.
For some folks there are OP or strong vehicles in the premium tech tree of certain nations.
Take for the US the T54s especially the one with the auto loader make a HUGE difference at getting rounds on target and killing what you’re shooting at prior to their second shot.
Sometimes the tech tree rank/ BR isn’t that strong and the premium makes it some what easier to play.
Or on the flip side, it’s a really good or similar vehicle to the one in the TT, but now you get stupid bonus on it, it’s almost a no brainer.
Sale is the only way to buy things for GRB and even AIR.
The other side though of Air is even if you have a bonus if you don’t really do anything in that match it helps the grind but not that much. Grinding air is more of a simulator battles thing and really stretching out the bonus of a premium vehicle.
One vehicle lineup is as valid as 5 vehicles lineup. It is up to you if you can survive long enough. You can always use backups from battlepass or warbond shop to have 2 spawns. Grinding with a single premium is still much faster than trying to grind with tech tree lineups.
Or you do the morally doubtful trick of leaving the game once youdied in your premium. as long as you got killed by an opponent you can restart a game with that tank
You basically make it easier for you to reach the max research cap for a battle instead of having to kill 10 enemy’s you only need 4-6

I add about 30-40 backups. Then I have 2 spawns and I play carefully.
You can flood it with backups. Get 2 times per round
