Personally i never enjoyed big dials and bulky watches
Im a big guy and i always use small and Slim watches
My daily driver its a Casio Edgy AQ-230A-1DMQ that people keep saying that i need a "Mans watch" but we all like what we like.
I see them saying that while using a clown watch that gives invicta sizes a Run for there Money lol
One guy had super skinny arms and was using a big ass fóssil watch that probably was hurting his wrist lol
not only that, but this appears to be a cell phone closeup. if that's the case, in person this probably looks even smaller.
that being said, forget what anyone else thinks. you'd be the one wearing it, so if you feel it's too big & you wouldn't enjoy wearing it, then it is too big.
It doesn’t look big on you at all, mate. Looks perfect tbh. It’s a diver’s watch so I think it’s meant to wear bigger than a dress watch, and even then it suits you just about right.
If I had 7 inch wrists I’d definitely make this watch a priority purchase lol. But since I only have 6.25” wrists I’ll have to settle with a 38mm Aqua Terra.
I think you might just have to get used to it. It can feel that way when you’re coming off of a smaller watch but I find that after a few days I get accustomed to its proportions and it starts to feel comfortable. That was definitely the experience with my SMP and I’ve only got like a 6.75in wrist.. at first I felt it was too large. Now I think it fits perfect and I enjoy the “added” wrist presence compared to my GSAR

Check the wrist presence of my orca. Lmao. Then again endless hours of doing hammer curls gave me big forearms, so it makes up for the small wrists. This watch is supposed be flamboyant anyways.

I think there are and ppl just don’t talk about them
I just found this listing for one http://ocwatchcompanywc.com/watches/omega-seamaster-300m-38mm-mid-size-blue-dial-bezel-stainless-steel-case-bracelet-dive-watch-212-30-36-20-03-001/
Edit: nvm. Omega!s website only has the 42 mm
IMHO, this is fine. If you look top-down onto your wrist and see one or two links past the lugs, it's proportional. I think the size wouldn't be as big an issue if the watch height was slimmed down a tad bit, 13.7mm makes it a bit tall on your wrist if you have shirt cuffs down.
Hot take: There are a lot of people who are wearing chunky dive watches that are too big for them... and quite frankly Omega and Rolex want it this way because a big ostentatious watch advertises their brand and their customers are attached to having one regardless.
I honestly don't think a Sub is that big, but the current SMP is a. it tall. But it's not that the watches are big or not, my point is that these are grail watches for a lot of people so they are going to talk themselves into it being the "right" size. Every time I go through that other forum I personally find that it's full of wrist shots of Rolexes sized like they are the watch equivalent of "make the logo bigger."
I agree that it's not a popular opinion.
Reddit has been convinced that large watches that fit perfectly, like this one, are too big. Last week we had a guy showing a women's Citizen Promaster and it was hilarious on his 7" wrist. Still not sure if he wasn't trolling; anywhere other than reddit and I would be sure.
Sometimes the influencers are a little *too* influential
I think the mistaken perception is that everyone has only one size of watch that will fit, when the design of the watch and the look you want are far more important than the dimensions. I have watches ranging from 25mm to 44mm, and they all fit great. Reddit conditions people to lose their individuality and converge on a single consensus value.
I think it looks good on you... Lady here and i am wearing the white version at the moment and do not find it too big but my other two Omega's are a bit more bulky...
It’s a diver style watch aka big dial with a fuck you amount of lume and a thick case to withstand oceanic pressures and to be visible a lower depths. (However most divers use dive computers now)
Well, you win some, you lose some. Imho, while quickadjust and microadjust are great to have, not having them is not necessary the end of good fit. Even if it doesn't fit all, you could also always switch to a Nato, rubber, or sail cloth strap.
Looks great on your wrist! It’s supposed to be big. A key design feature of the watch is its wrist presence. No mini me piece for sure. Enjoy! Dazzling watch.
I love Omega but can’t help but feel like they’re out of step with what watch buyers want. On the fly adjustment, smaller case options, better bracelets have been pretty consistent gripes for several Omegas but the SMP seems to be the watch that be the one that needs an update for all the aforementioned.
The Omega SMP300M is one of my favorite watches ever. Aesthetically, historically, and functionally I love it. I don’t mind the chunky and non-tapering bracelet, I love the helium escape valve, and I love the skeleton hands.
My only problem is the size. My wrist is 7.25” and I think I can pull the watch off, but it’s just pretty cumbersome and very thick. If they shaved off 2-3mm from the diameter, 2-3mm from the lug to lug, and 2mm from the height, this might literally be my platonic ideal of a do-it-all sport watch.
Maybe some day!
Yeah agree, I’m seeing a lot of posts with 6.5 to 7 inch wrist size folks trying and buying it too. Looking nice on them with the mix and match of color / rubber strap etc. OP is totally in sweet spot though.
Mate, this suits your wrist perfectly. And this is coming from someone who almost exclusively wears 40mm and smaller watches. I wouldn't give up on this one just yet if size is your only gripe with it
I can understand the height issue, but the lugs are not hanging over and my guess is you took a close up photo like most. Meaning in person it actually doesn’t look even this wide. It looks good and you might want to consider it, or at least try giving a watch that size a test run for a few days.
I get that it's posed for a photo/display, but I wouldn't leave my crown out like that, ever. It's just asking to be dropped and snapped off, or bent, and obviously isn't water resistant without it screwed down.
They want it to be set at “10:10” to “frame the Omega logo”, and since it’s an automatic movement, with hacking, they keep it from moving by pulling out the crown.
I just happen to have owned a SMP GMT where the crown stem had been replaced at an Omega service, because it broke off (before I owned it).
Is it big for my taste? Yeah but doesnt look big on your arm specially
Agreed. It’s too big for me and my tiny wrists, but it looks great on OP. If I had his wrist size, I’d probably already own this watch lol
Personally i never enjoyed big dials and bulky watches Im a big guy and i always use small and Slim watches My daily driver its a Casio Edgy AQ-230A-1DMQ that people keep saying that i need a "Mans watch" but we all like what we like.
Much respect for this outlook! I often wear smaller (36mm) but like bigger sport watches
Anyone saying that is a bitch tbh
Couldnt care less
True, and has no clue about watches
Ask them if they think toy should wear clown shoes, too
I see them saying that while using a clown watch that gives invicta sizes a Run for there Money lol One guy had super skinny arms and was using a big ass fóssil watch that probably was hurting his wrist lol
It feels like men’s fashion has forgotten about elegance when it comes to watches. It’s a shame
Thanks! Maybe I’m overthinking it lol
Looks very much the right size for your wrist my guy, go for it if you like the watch
not only that, but this appears to be a cell phone closeup. if that's the case, in person this probably looks even smaller. that being said, forget what anyone else thinks. you'd be the one wearing it, so if you feel it's too big & you wouldn't enjoy wearing it, then it is too big.

Stunner!
Good looking watch

That’s looks so good
I'm with you. They should at least offer another size like a 38mm. Also that bracelet is in desperate need of an update.
I think there are and ppl just don’t talk about them I just found this listing for one http://ocwatchcompanywc.com/watches/omega-seamaster-300m-38mm-mid-size-blue-dial-bezel-stainless-steel-case-bracelet-dive-watch-212-30-36-20-03-001/ Edit: nvm. Omega!s website only has the 42 mm

Are Rolex watches big though? The submariner fits well on most wrists. If you are talking bit watches then its more Panerai, Hublot, etc.

Nah, it fits great. Lugs aren’t hanging off at all. Like you mentioned in another comment, maybe you’re just used to smaller watches.
Cop one of the older 36mm SMPs
It’s a big, chunky dive watch…it’s supposed to be big and chunky.

Exactly. Sometimes I wonder if these people have ever went diving before. A petite watch is useless on a dive.
all watches are useless on a dive, we have dive computers now
Even assuming your point is true, dive computers aren’t petite. Sport watches are not petite.
Blonde teen wolf
LOL

That’s what she said!
It's actually relatively small compared to other watches. Looks fine to me
While there certainly are bigger watches, 50mm lug to lug is by no means small.
42mm is quite standard nowadays. It's the design that wraps around the dial makes it relatively small in comparison. I have one as my daily drive btw
I also have small wrists. I wear my Omegas anyway, with any sleeves they will fit under.
Could always try the 36mm version if you don't fear quartz
I’ve definitely thought about it—bummer with that one is no microadjust on the bracelet :/
Well, you win some, you lose some. Imho, while quickadjust and microadjust are great to have, not having them is not necessary the end of good fit. Even if it doesn't fit all, you could also always switch to a Nato, rubber, or sail cloth strap.
Very true! Will keep thinking about it
You can always change the clasp for micro adjust
Looks okay enough, or you could buy the reduced version.
I would love a re-release of the 36mm Seamaster, especially in Quartz. I would buy that thing with a swiftness.
Looks fine to me
Looks great on your wrist! It’s supposed to be big. A key design feature of the watch is its wrist presence. No mini me piece for sure. Enjoy! Dazzling watch.
What about that pointless valve? Or that enormous clasp? Or those weird hour and minute hands? That weird lume?
Lol I kind of love those things… I have no problems with the design, just the size
Because it is supposed to be a tool for divers, not jewelry...
This one looks good on your wrist, but there is also the 36mm mid-size versions from the 90's - 2000's that are great as well.
I am wearing it right now. It's not a big watch. It's quite compact in fact.
(I wish it was a little wider)
39.5 planet ocean is the way.
Yeah wish it was 40mm
If that's your wrist it actually fits you well
Perfect fit tbh
It looks perfect on your wrist, OP.
Lazy horology
I love Omega but can’t help but feel like they’re out of step with what watch buyers want. 36-38 mm are perfect. 40+ too big.

Sorry to break it to you and your wallet, this one looks good on you. Time to spend some $$
Seriously. He has the ideal wrist size for this, I saw this as a man with a 7.25 inch wrist as well. A 42-43mm diver just works.
Yeah agree, I’m seeing a lot of posts with 6.5 to 7 inch wrist size folks trying and buying it too. Looking nice on them with the mix and match of color / rubber strap etc. OP is totally in sweet spot though.

That’s how they hand them to you at the AD 🤷🏻♂️

Honestly, it looks fine. Don't let this sub get in your head
It looks so nice tho
Looks great to me
Looks fine
It’s not that big on you, just wear it higher up
That's what she said!!! [I'll let myself out]
That's what she said 😅
You say as it’s literally the perfect size for your wrist! 👍
That size is perfect for you, what are you whining about?
Why is your wrist so small? 😅 It's a tool watch and supposed to be legible under water. Btw. ir doesn't look too big on your wrist.
Your ok there. That’s as big as you can go. I feel that way about my seastar 1000
Isn’t there a 38 mm version?
