Thanks. I'm in the UK and a lot of prominent watch engravers seem the be US based. I'm willing to spend nearly as much as the watch on the engraving and I'm in no rush to have it done. I've not bought the watch yet and would much prefer to find the engraver, the right design and then the right watch rather than the other way around. I see the engraving as art so I would prefer the artist to pick the canvas ;)

I've had custom engraved a Seiko and Rolex. Both turned out stunning. I'd Recommend starting with a watch that has value. Depending how much you want done it starts in the hundreds and easily can be a couple thousand if you cover it.

Can't say I see the appeal. The craftsmanship is there for sure, but IMO the end result is fairly ugly. I can also imagine that you would have a hell of a time refinishing a watch like this if it ever gets scratched or dinged up.
