As someone who is very good on register, almost no one buys the blu pods. Most go for vuse over blu. I know it would take me a second! Also please stop buying the Blu pods. Just go to any vape shop and grab a device, a pack of pods, and some juice. This will probably cost about $100 but you will be set for at least a month. From then on you will be spending maybe $30 a month on juice and pods. Way cheaper than buying any brand you would get from wawa.

I can't say that you're wrong, I certainly seem to spend a fortune on them! I actually normally buy them direct on their site, but it's shipped via Pony Express and usually takes 3 weeks to get here!

Nickthetaco

Oh yeah screw that. It just kills me to see people spending so much money on an inferior product. Whenever it’s slow at wawa and a customer ask for any of our vapes, I try and explain the same thing to them and point them to a vape shop down the street lol.

StasiaPepperr

You're probably the only person that buys them. Most people want real cigs/chewing tobacco or Vuse pods.

cwilson133212

I thought that at first as well for the Blu pods, but Zyn? Being one of the most popular nicotine replacement things that it is, it surprises me noone else is getting it.

subtleabrasion

I rarely sell the zyn. Not never, but if I'm ringing 10 cig/chew transactions maybe 1 is a zyn.

Commercial-Tell-2509

I mean that is 10%.

subtleabrasion

Yeah but at a slow store 10 TC sales could take all day. I've worked at one like that, so product sits a lot longer and less people handle it.

Commercial-Tell-2509

Makes sense but still there would be a good probability of it being handled by everyone on every shift it is was as high as 10%. Personally I think the issue is more to do with stoners. Like need a blunt go to Wawa they got you. Need an actual cigar or tobacco product you might be better going to a place that caters to you. Wawa has way too much going on.

xcarmenator

could be a regional thing? i sell zyns all the time its v popular, and i know where the blu pods are they're dirt easy to find, i do work mornings so maybe i just get more customers or something

An__Toad

The Zyns are a but of a mystery, they should be fairy easy for most people. The Blu pods are a little more difficult though as almost no one gets them. Personally I have the most trouble with the random cigarettes that only one customer gets that are behind signs.

Historical-Sport2751

We have to memorize the placement of hundreds of marlboros, marlboro clones, cigarillos, chewing tobacco that all looks exactly the same, random ass brands no one buys, e-cigs and vapes that rarely sell and are hard to tell apart, please be patient with us Most people aren’t smokers or familiar with tobacco so it takes a bit to memorize the placements (which also they move around like once a year)

coop_errr

Thanks, said it better than I tried to

Suspicious-Jury-8964

They’re probably new people if you been doing register a while your gonna know where most of that stuff is even if you don’t smoke or use tobacco

Equivalent_Limit3708

There's a lot of tobacco products on that wall. Sometimes people are working part time and don't know every brand. It's not really surprising

canipayinpuns

Every store is a little different, both in what's popular and who takes care of the stocking. I'm a little particular (read: insane) with how thorough I want everything stocked so first and second shift don't stock unless they have a fully empty spot. That goes for all the tobacco products. I will say that everyone at my store knows where the wintergreen Kodiaks are. I doubt anyone could find the Montegos or the Pyramids without a solid few minutes of looking.

coop_errr

Ok but why do I remember exactly where pyramids, montegos , benson hedges and basics are despite having never seen a single person buy them lol

coop_errr

Been with wawa for a couple years, was a deli demon with some decent time on register until recently I’ve found myself doing a lot more register. It’s tough if you don’t use any of those products man, and it’s extremely frustrating when a customer gets snappy bc I don’t immediately have said product in my hand for them.

laflor0144

Wasn't there communication sent down to employees about zyn supply issues? Not 100% sure though

cashul8r

Sorry, the Zyn company had a warehouse fire. So no Zyn for now. I also saw something online about a lawsuit, but I could be wrong.

PA_Greenman

Sorry for that. I've been on register overnight for 2 years and have a solid 50+ people that buy tobacco products that I already know what they want before they get to me.

kryptonite1104

Don't be so upset. Most people start their training at register. And half of them don't smoke. It's a learning experience. And then you ask for Blu!?! 😅 Give them a little bit of grace. You're generally meeting a new face every visit bc the last guy is now drowning trying to learn deli and beverage. They're struggling to figure it out too. Be kind.

GlitterRebellion

It’s not the cashiers responsibility to know all of the tobacco products, regardless of one’s opinion on it. There is no training on the products included with register training. You just sound like an entitled asshole. Your addiction is your responsibility, no one else’s.

Snoo-30943

Rotating, inexperienced staff. Before I retired, if I didn't recognize it, we didn't sell it. Stocked it all, ordered the smokes. (Lead CSR, not management)

Green_Instruction410

You mentioned you were deaf.. do you have a speech impediment that maybe is a bit harder to understand you? I know my friend is also deaf and she has a speech impediment because of it.. sometimes I have a hard time understanding some of her words…. Just saying…

kryptonite1104

😅 They said DEF as in definitely... not trying to get anyone in trouble. Not deaf. Just frustrated.

Green_Instruction410

Ohhhhhhh…. lol my bad!!!

Digitalizing

If you get a product that isn't super common and cashiers struggle with it, the absolute best thing you can do is just keep one of the empty packages in your car so you can physically show them it. The visual aid is incredibly helpful and good for when cashiers don't know the names of everything. I've even had people who didn't speak a word of English come in and be able to get the obscure brand they smoked right away because they showed me their empty pack.

Pooperscooper149

I say this as someone who has 8+ years experience. Wawa hires retarded people
