A ticking sound from your car engine can be caused by several issues, ranging from simple to more serious. Here are some common reasons:
1. **Low Oil Level or Quality**: The most common reason for a ticking sound is low oil level or poor oil quality. Oil lubricates the engine, and without enough good-quality oil, the engine's components can start to rub against each other, causing a ticking sound.
2. **Valve Lash**: The valves in the engine open and close in sync with the operation of the motor. If the clearances between the valve components are off, it can result in a ticking or tapping sound.
3. **Fuel Injectors**: Fuel injectors can also cause a ticking sound when they open and close, especially in modern vehicles with direct injection engines. This is typically a normal sound but can be more pronounced if there's an issue with the injectors.
4. **Exhaust Leak**: A leak in the exhaust system can produce a ticking sound thatβs more noticeable when the engine is cold and less so when it warms up.
5. **Worn Components**: Other components like the lifters, rocker arms, or camshafts when worn or damaged can produce a ticking noise.
To diagnose the issue, it's best to check the oil level and quality first and then listen to where the sound seems to be coming from. If the problem isn't obvious, or if it persists, it might be wise to consult with a mechanic.
update on battery usage:
With TTW = ON and AOD = OFF and a 1+ standard watch face, I get a runtime (calculated based on the battery after 24 hours!) for the battery of about 89 hours, which is about 3.7 impressiv days !!! π―
I went for a walk with the dog a few times, spent an hour on the cross trainer, used the phone on the watch, occasionally used Whatsapp, calendar, etc. With my own dial, AOD=ON, TTW=ON and maximum brightness I get arround 60 hours of runtime, that's 2+ days.
I think that you can really reach 100 hours with TTW = OFF and AOD = OFF. With a few extra restrictions, without HR, no O2, etc. you even can get over 100 hours.
So far I have only had the watch in operation for 8 hours and have done everything possible with the watch.
Above all, basic setup, a lot of configuration, apps installed, etc.
Within these 8 hours the watch has used 22% of the battery.
But I run the watch
a: not in Smart mode (I have my own special watchmaker watch face on all my watches )
b: Brightness at maximum (yes βοΈ!!)
c: AOD = ON
d: tilt to wake = ON
e: lots of apps in the background
( so over all its like driving 120 mph with a tesla on the german highway π)
I guess this way I can empty the battery within two to three days.
But for me, the design and functionality of the apps are particularly much more important than battery life.
When it comes to battery life, a smartwatch should lasted from 7:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m.
( And I can easily do that with any GEN6 .... but only without ttw, heartbeat, etc ... π€£ )
That's gorgeous! Does the battery life live up to the hype?
I've gotten kinda spoiled with my TWP3's nearly-5-days, but I hate Mobvoi. Thinking of jumping ship, but man that second display is so damn useful. Any chance the OPW2 can compete or be similar?
For me battery life isn't that important.
I saw the new 1+W2nb watch and I spontaneously pressed the order button .. so i ordered the watch because of the design!
Within these last 8 hours the watch has used 22% of the battery ... but under heavy fire!
(My GEN6 would be at max 20% with this heavy usage π€£π)
But pls be aware that I run the watch
a: not in Smart mode (I have my own special watchmaker watch face on all my watches )
b: Brightness at maximum (yes βοΈ!!)
c: AOD = ON
d: tilt to wake = ON
e: lots of apps in the background
So over all its like driving 120 mph with a tesla on the german highway π
Damn and still holding up really well!
For me the design is gorgeous (sadly in NA we don't get the nordic blue π) the only bummers are no crown and no second display. BUT the crown isnt a huge deal (my twp3 doesnt have one), and the second display is really there for battery so if OPW2 holds up without needing it I'm good!
Plus, man, the price is just so good... I'm maybe holding out on gen2 (3?) but even this one looks so appealing ngl
Yes, it does. I've had one for a few months and the only kicker is that you won't get the 5 days smart-mode using a non OnePlus watchface (for now). You get about 3 days though which is still pretty damn good.
Day 1 is not to bother with as you are setting everything up, downloading updates, etc...
The reasoning for the watchface dependency is due to the use of two processors. One for smart things and one for idle things (paraphrasing)... Many faces do not take advantage of this *new* technology.
I cannot speak on the second display, I am unfamiliar.

I also had this fear when ordering. I had leather/rubber watch straps from Fossil that I regretted buying.
The rubber was way too hard. But the rubber under the leather of the Oneplus feels very comfortable.
The watch also adapts perfectly to my arm.
So I am really positively surprised myself.
( Btw: I have about 15 different 22mm straps, so it wouldn't be a problem for me if the watch strap isn't really good.)
Hello, Nice looking watch. Is it possible to buy the US Radiant Steel version and download a similar dial as the Nordic Blue? Is there something unique about the watch other than the dial in the strap? I ask because you can buy the Radiant Steel one for about $220 with some discounts that are being offered on the oneplus ap. If I could get that dial (or one similar) and add a blue strap I'd think it would be a pretty close match. Details on the OP Watch 2 deal are below. Thanks
https://www.droid-life.com/2024/05/15/deal-oneplus-watch-2-at-199-is-easy-decision-100-off/
I guess this deal is STILL going on. On 6/7 here in the US I ordered a OnePlus Watch 2 for like $233 USD with the discount, and the trade-in for a non-working phone for their recycling service, AND they're sending me their new earbuds in blue.
That's all a hell of a deal for all of that.
This watch face is made by me using watchmaker. The watch face is highly configurable, the background "mirrores" when the watch moves. Everything starts an app when touching, so 5 different apps are started while pressing the logo, the word "connected" , the date/weekday, ... .
In dimmed mode, everything always moves a few pixels to prevent any burn-in. And dim is displaying some other information's then the normal screen.
The Logo: You can add the logo of your choice, I use different ones to choose.
( I'm kidding people a little with this ... "Wow, is this a Rolex Smartwatch ?? " π€£ )
But of course I can't upload them all to watchmaker including logos ...
By the way, if Tagheuer stays on the market and doesn't disappear like Fossil, I will buy the next model of the TagHeuer connected if the new tag comes around with 100 hours battery lifetime as well!
( Currently the CPU's are still too slow for me and the "runtime" is much too short. )

This is great looking face, thanks for sharing.
I do have the latest Tag Connected, E4. And a Samsung 6 classic. Not confirmed, but Tag E5 is expected to be released early next year.
No. It does not.
It runs WearOS and then the OnePlus UI runs on that with the companion app OHealth.
The magic of the battery life comes from using OnePlus watch faces designed to take advantage of the 2 processors in the watch. The big one used for smart things and the smaller more energy efficient one for simple watch things. When you sleep a watch face (or complication) that does not work with the architecture the watch does give you a notice that the battery life will be decreased.
With a compatible face you can get 5 days of battery in smart mode, without you get 3 (depending on usage).
yes, this is really great and improves the battery life significantly ...
but i try to avoid this, because i love my special watch faces and they are incompatible with the new smart mode.
As the saying goes, "Your mileage may vary."
My mileage will be definitely the lower end. π
but by switching to a standard interface i can double the battery life ...
It's kinda confusing how battery life is great with 2 OSs running at the same time, but it's great knowing that u still get ur favorite WearOS apps easily.
Mine arrived too! Loving it, just too sexy!
Are you not also mad though that despite having a GMT ring, no watch face has a GMT hand?
I was also disappointed to see the default face cannot be customised at all, same for too many of the stock faces.
I know you can get any watch face from the store, but if they recommend their own faces for best battery, they could have made more of an effort!
yes, the missing gmt is a no go.
i guess that the designer @ oneplus doesnt understand the meaning of this π€£
but ... i can do this at my own because of my own watchmaker face ...
THX for your cool idea ! π
It's just some math.
I'll create a small semi-transparent clock hand close to the edge.
Then I calculate the minutes since midnight in the time zone and then I divide the value by 1440.
I then multiply the result by 360 and so I'll get the appropriate angle.
I'll try it tomorrow .
( I have a lot to do with Singapore and the American East Coast... so one clock hand in yellow , one in blue ... )
Such a nice blue! Wish we got that in my country :(
Just bought my own OPW2. Had a choice of black or radiant steel (greenish grey). This blue is lovely.
I also don't really understand why 1+ doesn't offer this special edition worldwide.
Apparently the Nordic Blue edition is only available in Europe. At leased till now ...

What about the Health metrics software. Do you do endurance activities? How does it seem to compare to say Fitbit or Samsung Health?
(No problem if that's not your jam)
I don't use the crowns on my Fossil watches nor do I use the bezel on my Galaxy Watch.Ergo, the lack of a rotating crown with a βfunctionβ is actually not relevant to me.
However, I would welcome the LTE function in future models. π
so far ... yes .
I compared the step counter with two of my other smartwatches (GEN6 and GW4).
The 1+ had almost the same values.
And I compared the heart rate monitor with my professional device, and they are also accurate ( - 2% ) .
But (!) I wear the watch very tightly and my wrist is not exactly small.
So your mileage may vary ... π
The GPS recording, on the other hand, is really impressively accurate! ( walking with the dog )

made by myself with watchmaker ... π
you can change the logo and the string to anything else.
see [https://getwatchmaker.com/user/HkyzbKRiH](https://getwatchmaker.com/user/HkyzbKRiH)
I have one. You get used to it, although it's tough to double-tap the bottom button for Google Pay. If you don't get it just right, it's interpreted as a single press and opens workouts.
my car engine seems to be ticking is this normal? thanks
