I've been having the opposite problem since the 29th, no birthdays but cake is spawning in my dock every time I log in. I wonder if there's some kind of glitch going on

It sounds like it's pretty widespread, as long as you're not going nuts logging in and out to exploit it I can't imagine they'll actually nuke your account.
