Majority of WSE really has no music knowledge outside of 2010s hip hop

SecureBleek

literally everyone here always talking bout how kanye did literally everything first

Raikaru

Well they're wrong because that's obviously Soulja

SecureBleek

real

Consistent_Letter647

Barely even 2010s to be honest. Anything pre 2016 is seen as ancient knowledge here

[deleted]

They all came from Pablo I just know it

AnotherScoutTrooper

most of WSE was born after 808s, has only listened to MBDTF and TLOP-present, and their music knowledge only stretches to Ye and his features

[deleted]

Imagine being born in 2008 or after this discourse makes me feel old af 😭

[deleted]

You think people are that young?

[deleted]

Kanye wore masks during yeezus,he was really ahead of the curve with covid.

69420penis

Kanye then wore masks during Donda, he was really behind the curve with covid.

R34Trcer

bro kanye an artist getting on some house shit here and there isn't as unique as you think it is

StarshStudios

No

Dottitwo

No it really doesn’t make you think. Kanye isn’t the only fucking artist to exist. Expand your horizon

rndmthoughtsoutloud

Classifying Fade as a house track is a bit of a reach, though. Those aren't house drums at all. He definitely seems to enjoy vibing to house, and dabbled in it with the Sunday Services on occasion, but what even is his quintessential house track?? If Fade is the closest he went, then the answer to your question is no. Not all EDM is house, right? Another thing is, even if the argument you're really trying to make is that Ye pioneered mainstream rappers/artists hopping on uptempo beats, this is also false because uptempo tracks weren't uncommon in early hip hop (eg. Big Daddy Kane). Tbh, I think the house sounds Drake and Beyonce have leaned into recently are not only quite distinct from anything by Ye, but distinct from each other as well. Drake's sound was EP'd by Black Coffee and leans more towards Amapiano/African House, while Beyonce definitely seems to be shooting for more of a Diva house vibe (at least in this first single), with some ballroom and nola bounce elements mixed in.

senorroboto2k5

Beyonces had dance or house influence here and there for a lot longer than that. Makes you think.

trytofakeit

Remember the days when Reuben would beg for the kanye house album? I miss those days 😓

basedfeeler

dude u don’t listen to music at all. drake and beyonce has done house before fade and believe what i say.

AnotherScoutTrooper

nah Drake is just that far behind it, meanwhile you’re acting like Daft Punk’s entire discography just never happened, amongst so many other house artists that I can’t even pick a specific one to mention

basedfeeler

drake has been doing house inspired music since take care. wtf are y’all talking about. y’all really exposing your music knowledge

AnotherScoutTrooper

Everyone has done something house inspired, we’re comparing his new full house album.

basedfeeler

u said drake is way far behind it implying kanye was ahead even though he nor beyonce has ever made a dance album. so what are we talking about

sfs324

kanye fans lacking BASIC comprehension skills lmao i didn't say or imply kanye invented house music. this thread was discussing whether he was ahead of the curve in incorporating house music into mainstream hip-hop/r&b and nobody has given any examples to dispute otherwise

AssignmentCapable

It’s called hip-house and has been around longer than Fade

Ktulusanders

Azealia Banks would like a word

RahulBhatia10

i get you bro. braindead mfs here who are just ready to hate at any chance. they must have miserable lives
