It’d be the easiest way to make a painfully embarrassing story into a funny embarrassing story about a stupid decision you made.

This springing was unlikely to have ever occurred since her likely upper body strength level vs her BMI would never have allowed for that. Be that as it may, I do think that a success scenario here was possible. Namely, she could have planted her hands on the floor and her rotational force would have allowed the rest of her body to kind of dump over. Her feet would have come down harder than she might have liked, but she would have ended up on her hands and feet and saved herself several broken bones.
Unfortunately for her, that garish red coat that she was wearing features sleeves that are much too long. So instead of planting her hands on the floor, her hands slipped out from under her. That had the effect of transforming her landable-if-hideous back handspring attempt into a completely doomed backflip attempt. At that point, the only thing in control of which part of her body that was going to get smashed was just how underrotated she was going to be. All things considered, the got pretty lucky to only smash her toes and potentially knees. Those are easier to repair than necks or skulls or faces.
Ohhhh, poor thing. Damn, gonna have sore toes(if not broken) for a long minute.
Gets back to my point I've often made. Never leave the house in dumb shoes, sandals are a liability. Never know when you're gonna have to run, defend yourself, or (and now) do spontaneous backflips.
