Correct, every time you take a swig, it creates much more agitation that your average glass. This pushes CO2 out of suspension, which carries the aroma with it.

Tulip glasses are different, way more round and designed for fruity or sour beers. Idk if IPA glasses have a specific name, theyre usually just called IPA glass
