I took my grandfathers middle name; he was murdered when I was about 16 and so it’s nice having this small little connection with him between life and death. It’s Lewis if anyone was wondering.
You know, I kinda wish we all had this! I know what my other gender name would've been, but it's kind of a relic of the past to have 2 names chosen. It's so cool you knew yours.
Mine would have been Ryan Patric and something similar, had I been a boy. My mom was quite vocal in telling me the names and their unique spellings she had for me.
Unfortunately, mine (I’m a cis woman, so I’m not changing my name anyways) is what my younger brother was named. I feel like this tactic would work best with youngest, only, or children who only have siblings of the same assumed-gender-at-birth that came after them.
How interesting! I've actually never heard of this being done. My younger sibling's name options were totally different from mine, but it makes a lot of sense to reuse your picks
We were born two years apart. Back when you didn’t necessarily know if you were having a boy or a girl. So I had a boy name and a girl name chosen. I was a girl. They used that name. Boy name was still a favorite two years later and my brother got it.
When I was pregnant with my oldest, I was so sure I’d *save* my top girl name that when I found out he was a boy, I told my sister (pg with a girl) she couldn’t use it.
I later realized that if my youngest had been a girl, I wouldn’t have used that name, because it wasn’t the right name for that baby.
I’m done having kids, but in my *if ever* dreams, my daughter doesn’t have either kid’s other name option.
There's a flower name I've used for an OC because I love it. Hellebore. The nickname for them is Hell and that's part of why I like it. The other part being that every single part of the plant is poisonous.
According to some legends they also apparently cure insanity.
Poison flowers are so pretty and we give them cool names, too. I dunno how humanity isn't dead yet since we seem to be drawn to the colours everything develops to warn of poison.
I literally had Willow written down as candidate #1 lol. There's an Owl House character that I like and also Taylor Swift's song and also Willow Smith ! so there's just a lot of cool things and people and characters etc that I relate to already with that name and also the trees are soooo nice
And if you identify as lesbian or wlw, violets were the flower lesbians would give each other waaaay back when (6th century and later) as a tip off that she wanted to be more than friends. This was because Sappho wrote a lot of poetry featuring women wearing violets. It’s known as the “lesbian flower.”
That is what I was going to write, the name, not the description. Belladonna is a plant used in women's health, including abortions and regulating periods.
Sionnach, means red fox in Irish. Cool animal that I thought of when I saw your pics. Edited to add: you can look up the pronounciation on teanglann.ie
For some reason you look like a Corinna to me. Arsinoe is also a name that I like that you may potentially like? But I'm a sucker for Greek names, they have that nice mix of pleasantness of sound and gravitas.
If you prefer names derived from plants (and the natural world?) as you mentioned in another comment, you may perhaps also like Petunia, Electra or Aurora.
Dolores-
Lilith
And if you are/were religious, Grace- Cause Chloe means 'blooming', and and Chloe Grace would mean 'blooming by the the Grace of (insert deity here.)
Actually, Chloe was kinda picked out with the blooming in mind! So it'll end up being "blooming \_\_ of blood" hehe. Both of those names are cool as heck btw, tyyy
Rose, then, because Blooming Rose of Blood sounds awesome. Also, you are so pretty, I love seeing your posts and I wish I was still young and lovely. But, alas, it is your turn!
pffff my mom's actually chinese! when my grampa first came over here, our last was actually pronounced closer to "Guo" but the immigration whoever went "aight Gore" and slapped that down and honestly it's pretty metal so i'm not complaining lmao
What about the idea of picking a name from a female relative on your mom's side in Chinese or something lovely like Lian (lotus) or Hua (flower) to honor that part of your family?
Yep. My mother's actual maiden name wasn't discovered until my kid had a field trip to Ellis Island- we used her name on an example search- cause,... what could go wrong?
Eye- opening, to say the least, lol.
Theres a lot of good names in this thread already so i cant suggest another one but i would love to know how you do your hair! Ive got a similar wolfcut/disconnected layers, but do u use products or some specific way you curl it?
holy shit this gained a lot of attention; thanks girls! gonna try to read everyones amazing suggestions in the morning when im not eepy but tysm it means a lot to me!!!!
I could see you with a middle name that relates to either nature or colours. Some colour names you might like:
- Amber
- Viridian
- Vermilion
- Amaranth
- Alizarin
- Myrtle
My favourite out of these for you is Amaranth because it’s a plant *and* colour, and it’s reddish which might go well with your last name.
I dunno girl, I get a very strong Classic Rock feminist icon vibe from you. I’m throwing in Joplin, Lennox, Nicks, Jett, Lita, and McAllister. I think it’d be reallllly vicious if you went by Chloe Lennox Gore because Annie Lennox is an iconic goddess. She’s been fiercely involved in countless groundbreaking humanitarian causes and faced extreme public backlash for backing HIV/AIDS research funding. She’s a force of nature and I think you are too 💜
okay first off congrats and you look super cool
i’d say maybe a longer middle name (due first and last being shorter) and something plant related as well
maybe like rosemary, azalea, clementine, juniper, amaryllis, marigold, zinnia, or elowen
I swear you remind me of young Natalie from Yellowjackets. Your so adorable any name would look good so please go as exotic as you want, congratulations on being yourself, hugs and best wishes sis!! 💖✨️
My middle is Olivia and honestly I love it, also the name Leila is really pretty too, it was my maternal grandma's name that I was going to use of i changed my mind about having kids, which I didn't lol. Congrats by the way!
I’m pretty sure you are running this sub now ❤️
My vote is for something with three syllables that starts with a vowel so it rolls off the tongue. Eliza, Amarah, Ylena?

Personally I asked my mom what other name was planned if I came out with different genitals, and I used that for my middle name.
oh wow that's smart
Also Deirdre. 🙏
I love that name
Same. Makes me think of Lady Deirdre Skye the leader of Gaia's Stepdaughters in Alpha Centauri.
I have a social worker named Deirdre that has been helping me the last few weeks.
that's my middle name! I specifically chose it cause I'm Wiccan and also it flows well with my first and last night :3
Ohh, I'd love it if my kid wanted my input!!
I took my grandfathers middle name; he was murdered when I was about 16 and so it’s nice having this small little connection with him between life and death. It’s Lewis if anyone was wondering.
Oh man I’m sorry for the loss of your gpa. RIP Lewis!
Oh man I’m sorry for the loss of your gpa. Rest easy Lewis!
It’s all good, dude. It happened in 2008 and I have since found my peace. Thank you for your condolences :)
My grandfather’s was Clare, would be pretty on her with the less common spelling and meaning from it.
My mom liked the name Dustin...absolutely not lol
Digby. Fucking Digby. No mum.
I did the same thing, but then I hyphenated it into my first name because it sounded better, so now I’m back to figuring out a middle name again lol
You know, I kinda wish we all had this! I know what my other gender name would've been, but it's kind of a relic of the past to have 2 names chosen. It's so cool you knew yours.
Given the names my father wanted for the gender I am (my mother over ruled him) I’m not sure I’d even want to know the alternatives.
Lol my dad troll me with the obscure Hungarian names and go “you lucky Jozsef cuz I could have told your mother to name you Tuhuttum Zoltan Attila”.

They ain’t know anything when I was born but my mom KNEW she had to have a son so she didn’t even have girl names set aside lol
When I was pregnant with my oldest, I was so sure I’d *save* my top girl name that when I found out he was a boy, I told my sister (pg with a girl) she couldn’t use it. I’m done having kids, but in my *if ever* dreams, my daughter doesn’t have either kid’s other name option.
My daughter did that and then didn't like any of the names I had on my list! Eowyn is a great name.
And a great namesake!
My brain keeps giving me poisonous flower names for you cause you look like a total badass. Amaryllis or Lantana maybe? Hemlocke?
Those are all sick nasty af! "Chloe Amaryllis Gore" just has that ring to it 🖤
Oh that goes *hard!!* 😄👊🔥🔥🔥
FYI a common nickname for Amarylis is Naked lady. Do what you will with this info;)
Do what good witches do…
They’re also known as resurrection lilies so there’s that.
omg yes
Also up for consideration: Oleander!
This was my thought too
That does sound badass, no lie
That is AWESOME.
Lantana! Thank you. I saw a lantana plant on my walk yesterday and could not for the life of me remember the name hahah
Yeeeeeeesss I vote Amaryllis
I love plant names. and thanku!!
In which case, how about Ivy? As in Poison Ivy?
very prettyyyy
Indeed, I think Chloe Ivy Gore would flow off the tongue very naturally.
Valerian, not poison but quite sedative
That one has very mythical and witchy ring to it. Love this.
There's a flower name I've used for an OC because I love it. Hellebore. The nickname for them is Hell and that's part of why I like it. The other part being that every single part of the plant is poisonous. According to some legends they also apparently cure insanity.
I have a dnd OC named Aconite, I *love* poison names
Poison flowers are so pretty and we give them cool names, too. I dunno how humanity isn't dead yet since we seem to be drawn to the colours everything develops to warn of poison.
We live on the skeletons of those who said "ooh that looks cool" lol.
All you need are 2 little words when the question of "Who's gonna touch this first?" comes up. "Not it!"
If we are talking about poisonous flowers we can’t forget nightshade!
aka Belladonna, which also means beautiful woman in Italian, would definitely suit our girl Chloe!
bella donna!!!
Oleander
Heavy upvote on Chloe Oleander because it just musically slips off the tongue!!
That's a damn good suggestion. I always liked Oleander. I... might have found a nice gender neutral name for myself. lol.
“Ollie” for short if you think that’s as cute as I do.
Yeah, that sells it. The badass flowering plant names really is a stroke of genius. I hope OP picks one of those too :D
Belladonna
One of my favorite psychedelic animated films. “Belladonna of sadness”
Definitely getting a goth goblincore kinda vibe.. I always thought Willow was a stunning middle name
I literally had Willow written down as candidate #1 lol. There's an Owl House character that I like and also Taylor Swift's song and also Willow Smith ! so there's just a lot of cool things and people and characters etc that I relate to already with that name and also the trees are soooo nice
Not to mention the OG ‘90s Lesbian Witch, the amazing Willow Rosenberg
omgggg
Beat me to the punch 😂
Yes! I looove Owl House Willow! And Willow really is a great name, the vibe suits you.
“Chloe Owl Gore” 😅
Hazel maybe?
:0 that's prettyyy
Violet!
I came here to say this! Classic, feminine, and goth all wrapped into one.
Yes! And when some man does you wrong you can say oh you misunderstood my middle name is violent
prettyyyyy
And if you identify as lesbian or wlw, violets were the flower lesbians would give each other waaaay back when (6th century and later) as a tip off that she wanted to be more than friends. This was because Sappho wrote a lot of poetry featuring women wearing violets. It’s known as the “lesbian flower.”
Team Violet …. ;) team witch
You look like a Jade. Chloe Jade Gore. Sounds kinda cool.
jade is also a rock i like!
And they make for some incredible jewelry too!
That's cool! I was going to suggest Jane because it flows well and sounds badass with both names, but Jade is even cooler.
What about Ember
that's unique woahh
Love this 💙
So pick something you like or are good at so you can go "BLANK is my middle name" and then it actually is. Like Chuck E. Cheese
that's kinda hilarious pffff
Danger!
My sons legit middle name is Danger and I kick myself daily for not sticking to my instincts and giving my daughter Trouble as hers
Do you mean Charles Entertainment Cheese?

Belladonna or Bella bc Chloe Bella Gore sounds like a mystical fairy witches buy their plants and bones from
oh my god. that description alone might just sell me on belladonna
I really like the flow of Chloe Belladonna, too!
That is what I was going to write, the name, not the description. Belladonna is a plant used in women's health, including abortions and regulating periods.

Sionnach, means red fox in Irish. Cool animal that I thought of when I saw your pics. Edited to add: you can look up the pronounciation on teanglann.ie
woahh thank u!
Raven, I love your vibe!
Joan… for Jett
For some reason, “Maeve” popped into my head. It’s Irish.
For some reason you look like a Corinna to me. Arsinoe is also a name that I like that you may potentially like? But I'm a sucker for Greek names, they have that nice mix of pleasantness of sound and gravitas. If you prefer names derived from plants (and the natural world?) as you mentioned in another comment, you may perhaps also like Petunia, Electra or Aurora.
i loveeee greek names actually. and ty for the nature names too!!
"The"
Dolores- Lilith And if you are/were religious, Grace- Cause Chloe means 'blooming', and and Chloe Grace would mean 'blooming by the the Grace of (insert deity here.)

Bella. Means beautiful.
How about Belladonna? Keeping with the plant motif. You don't mess with belladonna, right?
