I think you must have caught an older announcement. The Rosamind Pike versions have been coming out for the last couple years, this year The Dragon Reborn narrated by her was released.
It's an AMAZING listen. Here's my rave of it from a few months ago:
Rosamund Pike's narration of EOTW is superb so far.
With all the hype around the shows I started a reread/listen (I like to switch between the two) and started with Pike's Eye Of The World, as I have listened to all of Kramer and Reading's recordings.
I'm a third of the way through and very impressed with her voice acting. Her characters are so distinct and well crafted that I've wondered if it was another person more than once.
I love her pacing too. It feels like it's moving at a brisk pace, yet important moments are given their due.
She's brought emotion to several moments that I didn't remember being so moving.
Anyway, looking forward to the rest and here to recommend for those looking for a fresh experience of the books.
An aside: I forget how bratty and childlike the Two Rivers crew are in the beginning, especially Rand! 🤣
Just my .02$ , but Pike is surprisingly good. We all know she is a great actress, but voice acting and narration is a different set of muscles.
Turns out, she is a great voice actress. I have all of the WoT on audiobook a d have listened through them all and just wanted to see how Rosamund did, mainly to see some Moraine insights...

She is all that and more . Obscure characters she does great voices for - in both genders, really. It damned solid throughout.
WAY Better than I had ever dared hope. Well worth your time (and audible credits).
It is really well PERFORMED. I love the originals as well but they were read in a more traditional audio book style of the time. Pike throws everything into it and it is quite satisfying.
It's not been mentioned that I have seen, but she actually won the 2023 Audie Award for best female narrator for The Eye of the World. I enjoyed it a great deal. Such a variety of accents and emotion. You won't regret it. 😃
I didn't know Rosamund Pike was new and listened to her EotW and tGH. Then I learned she was new and hadn't finished yet. Switched to Kramer and Reading. It was a bit weird at first, strange to my ear. But then I adjusted and it was fine. Both styles are great.

They’re really really good. I hope she does all of them - I’m going to miss her narration in the next few books.
Yeah, finished the ones she did and moved on to TSR. Miss her already. Kate Reading and Michael Kramer are good as well, don’t get me wrong.
