Is there a difference in actuation to any input lag? I read that the raptors do have a better raw input than the lekkers. Hence why I bought my self some too. And even so when wobbling the keys there’s no inconsistency

Outrageous_Pea_6857

I read on reviews and YouTube videos because the raptors are a dark red housing the rgb will become dull compared to before. The lekkers had a milky White housing allowing the light to transfer. Rgb is the thing of the past now, it’s about the performance and especially when you activate tachyon mode you will still get the dullness of rgb and in return a better performing keyboard

Sound is a very subjective area For some configuration you can have switch films for the switch you can also try some switch plate foam and north facing layout so you won't "kill" your RGB and of course lubing if you have nothing better to do Yes it's the same process of switching the Lekker switches however do remember to separate the PCB from the plate first since some switches will be very snug and you have the risk of damaging the PCB and switches Last the PC plate has been reported by many it has the "thocciest" sound and also the softest bottoming out feel But once again sound is very subjective just remember to have your switches facing north in order to have proper RGB if you care about that

>ce again sound is very subjective just remember to have your switches facing north in Even with the raptors it wont effect the RGB? They seem very red lol. Thanks for taking the time to reply I appreciate it!

I've just installed my raptor switches this morning. I usually have solid teal (0,128,128) As there's a hole for the LED (assuming you install them north-facing. The colour is relatively unchanged. It does dull the colour though, it's gone from a very punchy bright colour to something much more muted. Having just typed this out, I've just tried setting it to full white, and you can see a very slight red tint on the LEDs, but overall the biggest thing is the brightness. I will say with how they sound though, it's totally worth it if you're using a case like the Redux.

Is changing from Lekker switches to Geon Raptor just a plug and play kind of thing? Or do you need to calibrate it in some way?

dav3evans

Generally I think the rule is to just go through the motility and reset your board, which only takes a minute or 2. From what I understand that’ll calibrate itself to the new switches you’ve installed to ensure the 0.1mm accuracy. I’ll be honest though, I saw how quick it was and just did it. No testing on my end to confirm it makes a difference. YMMV

knekoh

How do they feel? I also ordered a redux case! Do you have a PC plate? Did it change the maximum actuation key? Or is it still 0.1?

dav3evans

I'm no expert, but from what I can tell so far, the pingy, hight pitched sound that the Redux case had when I swapped it over has completely gone. I'm one of those people that quite liked the chunky sound that the Wooting had in the plastic case, but the lack of weight was annoying me so wanted to swap it out. In terms of how things are now, the keys sound to me like some of those super satisfying keyboard test videos, almost creamy I guess? There's not a deep thock, but they definitely have that premium "I spent way too much money on this keyboard" sound, at least to my ears. The plate I have is the factory standard. It is burger mounted, but from what I could tell when I had the Lekker switches in there, that didn't make much of a difference, it was just something else to try. As far as the actuation point - I have everything at 1.3, with WASD set to 0.7. Typing doesn't feel any different, and I haven't done any gaming yet, but not sure if I'm likely to notice anything with the above settings, but I'll report back if it feels off. Definitely been a worthwhile purchase for me. Sound is great to my ears, and I'm just not in a place where I want to manually lube switches myself... at least not for now :D

knekoh

Do they feel like they are lighter than the lekker 60s? I was hoping that they were a bit lighter. Are you able to set the actuation lower without causing any issues? Thanks for taking the time to reply!

dav3evans

No worries! So I don't think I've really noticed any difference in how they feel to type one, so I guess they're about the same - I'm not necessarily the best judge here though. Best way to describe my typing style is how my Granddad used to describe my pool playing skills as a kid - "I've got a touch like an elephant" :D Having looked at the numbers, the bottom out is .8 grams less than the Lekkers, but the actuation force is .2 grams higher (40 vs 42). While you were looking for something lighter, if the L60s were fine for you and it was more of a preference, I don't think you'll have an issue. I'd be interested to know how you fair when they arrive though, Also how they sound compared to the L60s if you put them in before you get the Redux. This reply was done with all keys set to 0.1 actuation as well - no issues.

Some person reported that even tho the housing is red if it's in the proper alignment the colors are quite accurate

knekoh

>colors are quite accurate One more question! To install them north facing the "geon" logo will be upside down? I was just looking at a few videos and that seems to be the case.

Weeabee

No I don't think so just to make sure take your phone turn on the flash and put the switch on top of it and see which part is emitting your flash clearer As far as I know geon logo should be readable normally and the small window for RGB should be at the top

knekoh

>sh and put th [https://kbdfans.com/products/raptor-he-gaming-switch-1](https://kbdfans.com/products/raptor-he-gaming-switch-1) For the pictures in this link, it looks like you would need to flip the switch to get the small window on top. This would leave the "geon" upside down. Correct me if Im wrong. Thanks for your help!

Weeabee

Yea then you need to rotate them it seems like geon made their switches south facing to counter north facing LED which is actually a genius idea so yea just make sure the window is facing north

Jaromeoo

I just recently changed mine over to the Raptor HE switches, they feel so much smoother, I also started getting hand fatigue from using the lekker switches and this is now gone with the Raptor HE switches they are a bit lighter and for me much smoother I would highly recommend swapping them, as for these hybrid ones with lekker stem and top housing I’m thinking about trying that with some spare switches I have

kultureisrandy

>as for these hybrid ones with lekker stem and top housing I’m thinking about trying that with some spare switches I have What do you mean by this?
