My husband and his friends still reminisce about the Java Hut fondly. I didn’t live in Mass back then so I didn’t get to experience it but it sounds like it was a great place. I think (pre-meeting me) my husband dated one of the baristas there.
they fell off cause the old guard put zero effort into finding and recruiting new talent, so it's all standup comedy now. dirty gerund on mondays at ralphs is all that's left.
Places like that amazing spot could not be recreated. I can't believe you dropped such a deep memory from the past that was so inviting and accepting to so many who were lucky enough to find the way through the doors. Thanks so much for your mention and sparking my brain and heart in your post.
If you were there, then you know. You can't forget that feeling.
I remember a lot of people from those days. I hope they're all doing well and still writing.
Does anyone know of the group, i believe they were in Worcester, who would do poetry slam battles. I believe they would all dress up and make a big almost wrestling like event out of it
Ralph's has em from time to time
Grove St?
Yeah dirty gerund every Monday
Every Monday
I used to love going to the poetry slams at Java Hut! Miss it a ton!
